Have to say did not see this coming in his days in Rome. Knew he was a rising star but this is incredible.
Is it too early to put him in the conversation for stealing a Ballon D'or from Messi/Ronaldo?
I think you can place him in that special group with Messi,Ronaldo, and Neymar as big name super stars though.
I would hope so. But there are a lot of Messi and Ronaldo fan boys in the world. I wouldn't be surprised if the next Ballon d'Or stayed between the two of them. Last one for Ronaldo was questionable as well in my opinion having a pretty bad second half of 2017. He had only 3 goal + 2 assists in that time in La Liga (albeit being suspended for the first 4 match days). That's no stat of a Ballon d'Or winner, is it?

Didn't know German Schlager music was popular in Sweden but to each their own I guess.

3-1 by Froberg. Empty netter
That's it

Gotta love the kids smarts. Was driven out wide by an opponent while a team mate was driving in the direction of the net. EP threw the puck to the net and it bounced just in front of the goalie. Impossible to control. And I'm pretty sure he intended to do exactly that.

Pettersson scores!
Sniper from the right slot as per usual. PP Goal.

Rough chippy game today. Lots of after the whistle scrums, Malmo trying the intimidation game. EP put in a headlock once. But I think he'll get his revenge on the scoreboard.
Their behind 1-0 after the first.
Vaxjo ties it up early in the 2nd 1-1 (#18 scored)
Yup, not a pretty game so far except for Calof's goal.

Dahlén slings it in from the right slot and it deflects off the back of a defender's head into the net. Haven't seen that so far.

Klopp seems to be the antidote to Pep's poison

Any team aspiring to win has to at the very least beat one of Bayern/Real/Barcelona over two legs and then face one or the other in a final. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
As long as Pep is City's coach you can add them to that list as well.

The staff of the Portuguese national team has to be one of the most incompetent staffs in football. Third time Rapha Guerreiro just came back from a long term injury and STILL got nominated for matches for the national team, played and subsequently got injured AGAIN during the course of the international break. The first or second time that happened they didn't even recognize (or they didn't communicate) a broken foot. F****ing pathetic.

From next season on Matthias Sammer will come back to our club as a sort of external counselor to management. There will be a second new position to be filled as a connection piece between management and team. Candidates are former BVB captain Sebastian Kehl and current Head of Youth Development Lars Ricken.
Didn't expect Watzke at this point to bring in more players from outside, but I like that he recognized that he might need more support and looks from another angle. First step in the right direction. Sammer played a key role in Bayern getting Pep. While I don't expect that much, I hope we will get a more modern and knowledgeable approach from him than we do from Aki. Kehl has studied sports management at UEFA and is a club legend. Plus he's no yes sayer, so he will have some input as well.
Me likey.

Apparently, our solution is Usain Bolt.

From Tuchel football to Stöger football in 8 months. Unbelievable how a good Bundesliga side can turn into a huge pile of s***. Nobody knows what to do in possession. Just f***ing unbelievable.

What is that, Chelsea?

So, these Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang boys seem to be alright at football, don't they? Who would've thought?
Good thing Auba plays up front.

Batshuayi scored twice in his debut

Deal is 63.75m €.
Giroud to Chelsea, Batshuayi on loan to BVB.
Also Marc Bartra to Betis. Sad to see him go. Clearly a move away from here because he's still affected by the bus bombing. Wish him all the best. He's been a terrific addition football-wise but especially character-wise.
Furthermore we signed Sergio Gómez from Barca's youth team. Don't know anything about him but seems he was one of Barca's best academy players. Barca fans seem quite unpleased he's leaving.
-
German media reporting Aubameyang could be announced as early as today. We will sign Batshuayi as replacement.
Auba's deal 63m € + 5m € paid in bonus.
I'd be ok with that.

I'll take your word for it.
I imagine that in this case, he'd play a little further up the pitch and slightly more central, maybe just behind Lacazette (or vice-versa)
Don't know if this site is well known by Arsenal fans but the tactics blogger Lewis Ambrose has been a guest on a couple of Dortmund podcasts in the past. He wrote some stuff about Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan. What to expect, how they play etc:

Sure, but the Ballon is supposed to be the title for the best footballer of the year. And I just figure you should have an outstanding season all around. He scored 4 of his 9 goals in the second half of 2017 against APOEL and 3 against us while we were on a historically bad run. Just not screaming footballer of the year to me.
