yeeeeees! so happy to have Ibra back on a 1 year deal. once he recovers from his brutal knee injury that needed surgery, he and Lukaku can form a formidable duo up top in our already deadly attack. it might take some time to get used to one another but it will eventually work out. elated to have gotten this done. we can easily have one of the best attacking teams in the world. that's how good we would be when Ibra gets healthy.
@Lateralus91 I feel for you and Dortmund. having the Spurs in the group too doesn't make things easier either. i still think Dortmund will get by to the Rnd of 16. we got one of the most youngest, deadliest teams in the world and once kids like Dembele (if he stays), Pulisic, Mor, etc continue their development in the right direction, I could see the team being a threat for CL and the team is already one in Bundeliga. only a matter of time
Not afraid of this group, to be honest. Real has yet to beat us at home and Tottenham didn't look very good 2 years ago in the Europa League against us. Very confident we'll make the Round of 16. It's just that that will be our 13th and 14th duels since 2010 against Real. It has become quite annoying to say the least. Fun fact: When the group stages are over we will have played Real more often than Schalke since 2010.

No idea why I still bother with watching the UCL group stage draw. We always get Real. Always.

Think its about time this is being introduced... Has been discussed for years.
With so much focus on every decision, the refs been needing all the help they can get for ages.
The issue was always the flow of the game, and how much the video ref should be involved. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.
Agree, it might take some time for all involved to run efficiently as seen in the Confed Cup. But if it reduces wrong decisions by only 1% it's better than before and should be implemented into the game. Bundesliga taking modern approaches the last couple of seasons. They renewed dialogue with the ultras for the first time after 6 years and seem to get rid of collective punishment. I like it.

Barcelona are in real trouble, they just upped their Coutinho bid to 129 million euros, which FSG immediately turned down. This has to be an act of desperation on Barcelona's part. Coutinho is good, but not that good. I think they have a lot of rebuilding ahead of them.
After the Super Cup on Wednesday a Barca official told the press, they would be close to signing both Coutinho and Dembélé. While I think that there's absolutely zero chance of signing Coutinho now that the FSG group openly told the press that Coutinho will stay, Barca also don't seem to driven to sign Dembélé. Our CEO Watzke said a day later that Barca have not updated their offer from a week ago and that the statement of the Barca official is thereby completely false.
I think Barca is trying to lowball both clubs and I think they're underestimating the importance of those players and the time within the transfer window. Liverpool probably won't sell at all and Dortmund will only say yes when they get the money they're aiming for (allegedly € 150m).
I also still think Barca is behind Dembélé's strike and Coutinho's "transfer request". Barca is losing their hard earned reputation by the day.
-
I've always liked Barca, but there seems to be a pattern with players they want to have and their clubs if they don't want to sell. Veratti, Coutinho and Dembélé all on strike and/or going to the press is no coincidence.
Funny after the comments from Barca's boss after the Neymar transfer. I hope they get none of the desired players. I would even consider selling Dembélé to Real for 20m € less at this point, just to p*ss Barca off.

I don't know how it is exciting to follow a club that loses its players.
I'm aware of that. I don't give a flying f.
Following a club is not about success for me. I grew up with this club. My father grew up with this club. My friends are supporters of this club. The idea of a club just being worth following if it is successful... that's something I can't understand. If I choose a club, it is for life. Not for as long as it is successful. The club is linked to the history of the city of Dortmund and the people who live in it.
I don't know how it is exciting to follow a club that is owned by a sheikh who doesn't care about human rights, the city nor the fans of his club and just wants to make money off of it or be his little toy to play around with cause he doesn't know what to do with all of his money.
To each his own, I guess.

Official stock market press release from Borussia Dortmund:

QuoteTransfer rumors about the BVB player Ousmane DembéléDGAP-Ad-hoc: Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA / Key word(s): Miscellaneous Transfer rumors about the BVB player Ousmane Dembélé
10-Aug-2017 / 15:59 CET/CEST Disclosure of an inside information acc. to Article 17 MAR, transmitted by DGAP - a service of EQS Group AG. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.
Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA ("BVB") has held a meeting with the catalan football club FC Barcelona about a possible transfer of BVB player Ousmane Dembélé ("player") to FC Barcelona.
In this meeting, the representatives of FC Barcelona have submitted a bid which, however, did not correspond to the player's extraordinary footballing value and status as well as to the current econonomic market situation of the European transfer market. BVB therefore rejected this offer.
As there is no other offer from FC Barcelona to date, a transfer of the player to FC Barcelona is at present not more than likely.

I'm sorry to say but if your club is not one of Real, Barca, PSG, Juve, or Bayern
You are irrelevant in the grand scheme of things ie Champions league no matter what you might do domestically.
This goes for City, United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham.
In this era of super league teams that's just how it is.
So? I don't seem to get your intention.

Delegates of Barcelona are allegedly in Germany to talk about Ousmane Dembélé. Dortmund wants 150 m € according to several news outlets. While I think that's a good price, I wouldn't really understand a sale of Ousmane at this point of the season and at this point of his contract. Bundesliga starts next week and the transfer window is open for only 20 more days which would mean we probably would have to pay more for a replacement which we will need even with our current surplus of wingers.
Reus is out until next year, Mor will probably be gone to Inter this week, Schürrle is nearly as injury prone as Reus and Philipp is new at the club and will likely take some time to get used to the system.
Plus we will probably get 100m €+ next year or the year after and Ousmane will still have 3 or 2 years at his contract respectively.

Chicharito to west ham? quite the signing for them
Marketing-wise, maybe. But this last season he was not more than a slightly-above-average poacher in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund have told Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that he will not be allowed to leave the club this summer. The striker had been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga but the German club gave him a deadline before which he had to leave and that deadline has now passed.
The Gabon international, who scored 31 league goals in 32 games last season, had been expected to move to China, the Premier League or Milan in Serie A but he has been told that he will continue his career in Dortmund.
Read moreChelsea were mooted as possible suitors as they seek to replace the departing Diego Costa, though a formal bid was never submitted to Dortmund and their priority is still understood to be Real Madrid’s Álvaro Morata.
The Dortmund CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, said on Sunday that they had given the 28-year-old, who joined Dortmund in 2013, “a few days” to make his mind up and the German magazine Kicker reported on Tuesday that the deadline has now passed.
Aubameyang, incidentally, faced Milan, one of the clubs interested in signing him, in a friendly on Tuesday and scored twice in a 3-1 win. The new Borussia Dortmund coach, Peter Bosz, said before the game regarding Aubameyang’s future: “As long as the transfer window is open there will be rumours. And that will be the situation until the end of August.”
Aubameyang has a contract with Dortmund until 2020.

Sven Bender joins his brother Lars for 15m € at Bayer Leverkusen. Surprising transfer, but a great deal for us.

After Reus (ACL) and Weigl (broken ankle) we have international football and the amateurish medical team of Portugal to thank for Guerreiro, who also broke his ankle during the Confed Cup and will miss the next 3-4 months. Initial diagnosis by Portugal was a bruised foot. Lmao.
Perfect start for our new coach with 3 of the best out for almost the entire year.
I hate international football.

So, Germany won the Confed Cup with basically the Under 21-team and the Under 21-Euros with the second U21 team. The depth is quite alright.

Already an old hat.

So 12-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko, who played 2 years above his age for our under-15s team this year, will be promoted to the under-17s squad next season, playing 3 years above his age. He scored 33 in 26 games this year. He also plays for Germany's under-15s national team. Sounds like we've got ourselves the next Ronaldo/Messi at our hands.
-
Reus already out for the remainder of the year. Picked up a partially torn ACL in the DFB Cup final.
-
-
Signed 17 year old CB Dan-Axel Zagadou on a free from PSG B. Never heard of him, but he's captain of France's under 18 national team.
New coach Peter Bosz will probably be announced as soon as today, maybe even alongside 23 year old Maximilian Philipp from Freiburg. He would be a backup to Reus, very similar player in terms of position and set of skills. A bit expensive for 20m €, but we already got some steals in Dahoud, Toprak and Zagadou this summer.
Zorc as always gettin stuff done.
Excited for next season.

Perisic played for us a while ago. Unfortunately he was one of the few guys who didn't really work out under Klopp. He's fast, can cross and shoot very well and is physically strong for a winger. He's more of a striker than a playmaker, he probably won't play a lot of throughballs. He can be a bit lazy at times, especially when it comes to backtracking and pressing the right way. Also a bit of a diva from what I remember. 50m € is quite a steep price for him, I think. But I'd imagine he would fit right in to EPL football.

Dembélé to Barca as good as official. €105m + 40% = €147m in total. I can live with that. But this transfer period Barca has shown its real face. Veratti, Dembélé and Coutinho on strike or open rebellion. Coincidence? I think not? I used to like Barca more than Real as well. Not anymore.
Anyhow. I'm curious about our replacement. Maxwell Cornet (meh), Draxler (just for f*n with Sch*lke, otherwise please no), Luan (never seen him play) or Malcom (alright) the candidates.
