Now they need to hire a shooting specialist to teach Tryamkin how to get his shots through

Maybe Edler can help him haha just kidding, Edler should teach him nothing lol

Have to agree with this. We do see a lot of criticism of Benning, some of it rightfully, but his awareness of drafting quality dmen seems to be top notch so far. I am really excited to see how the above mentioned guys do in a couple of years. I guess it goes without saying that someone like Neill will be signed before hitting UFA.

His drafting skill is great in all areas not just D.

Goalies- Demko in 2nd round, future number one, and then signed Garteig who may be a good backup, minimum,  in a couple years.

Forwards- Boeser, gaudette, Lockwood look like steals where they were picked to name a few. Only questionable one in my mind is virtanen just because of the players drafted around him doing well. But I think virts going to be real gud, it's just going to take time.

True, his body fat was 5% before, so he really needed to get to that 4% threshold to earn a chance.  <_<

Haha his conditioning was poor and he needed a couple weeks to get in shape. Hard to say management messed this one up with the way he's playing now. Trams just going to get better and better

I think Gaunce is JB's dangling bait.

Maybe but I don't think Gaunce has done enough yet to be valuable. Im hoping this year is a big step in his development and he gets moved up the lineup a bit. He looked great in preseason but has dropped off recently like the rest of the team.

In other words, one of the Canuck prospects that was brought along properly in the minors. That, plus I'm part of the crowd that thinks that Gaunce is probably one of the easiest guys in the organization to coach. He might be one of those guys that can go up and down the lineup, like Burrows.

You know I was thinking the same thing. I'd like to see him get a chance on Horvats left. I think those two could work well together. Maybe a Gaunce horvat and boeser line will be good in the future. You never know

I was at the game last night and the only thing that worries me about Stech is that he takes a LOT of hits and some of them look very awkward. As long as he learns to take the abuse of a 82 game schedule he will be more than fine.

Kid might be better off going to Utica and bulking up just a little bit to prevent injuries

That would be great, but don't you think he goes to Utica in April because our season is probably over, but the Comets will be in the playoffs?  That's what I meant anyway.

Fair enough, all Im saying is he probably could have made our team this coming year considering our right wingers. I think he is basically a guarantee in 2017-18 unless he gets injured or his play falls apart. Love the way this guy plays, and am hoping we can get a first line centre to make him even better. But imagine this. Laine-Horvat-Boeser. Not a bad first line considering how Horvat has showed his talent.

Who is that, and it sounds bad?  Why bad?  Boeser looks great, and I think he signs next year, and is in Utica April 2017.

I think you mean NHL 2017, Guy will be able to jump right into the NHL that year. probably could have this year if he had chosen to.

  9. I think this summer we could see a lot of big moves... some of which i doubt fans will agree with.

I am all for the Canucks making some big moves this summer. In my opinion these guys are all on the trade block. Elder, Sbisa,   Burrows, Dorsett, Higgins, Hansen, Miller. I don't think they will get rid of Dorsett(don't think you could). Burrows might be with the team next year but I think he will either be traded or bought out like Higgins. Benning has said he wants to trade older players that still have value, before they are useless, so i see him trying to trade Hansen(even though I love the guy), Edler who still has value, Sbisa(teams are looking for Dmen, and he hasn't played well here) and Miller who could really help a potential playoff team next year. I also see Benning going after Eriksson. Vrbata, Bartkowski, Weber and Prust will walk. McCann to Utica. Hamhuis signs for big a discount or we keep edler.

    Sedin-Sedin-Eriksson/draft

    Baertschi-Sutter-Virtanen

    Rodin/Vey-Horvat-Etem

    Gaunce-Granlund-Dorsett

    Edler/UFA/draft-Tanev

    Hutton-Hamhuis

    Pedan-Tryamkin

    Biega-Larsen

    Markstrom

    Miller/backup

That would be a young lineup worth watching

I know allot of people are going to scorch me for this but I fail to see the reason why nobody questions his ability to play in the nhl. Every game i watch with him in the lineup(all of them) I find myself screaming at the tv because of the stupid stuff the guy does. Personally i'd rather have any of the guys that are fighting for a spot on the team rather than burrows. Everyone's #1 reason they like this guy from what I read on this forum "He's great on the pk. Who cares! Anyone can do this thats fighting for a spot. He can't score and i'm tired of kesler carrying this guy on his back night after night, I'm tired of him losing the puck, falling down everywhere seriously this guy falls down a hundred times a night can't he skate its ridiculous, stupid penalties its endless. "He plays with grit" is another common description tossed out when his name comes up. That ok sure he pisses off guys but fails to do really be able finish that job off by being able to fight because he can't. IMOP he's an embarrassment to the team. Please Gillis let this guy go keep Krog or Pettinger or Brown whoever. let er rip.

I agree, Burrows was a great player for the Canucks but his heart just doesn't seem to be in it this year. He's good on the penalty kill but with only 7 goals and 16 points and a -14 rating this year... thats pretty sad. And at $4.5M a year for one more year he is overpaid and a sure goner next year.
