  1. Hahaha I was literally just about to say the same thing! He seems to have slick hands and great passes.
  2. Wow, what a pass and what a shot! This kid oozes high end skill.
  3. Wow, crazy hand eye coordination. Also a ton of hustle to his game. It's not overly surprising that he tweaked something though, watching these highlights he played almost 7 and a half minutes in the first period alone, at high speed in the middle of summer. These things happen, I'm sure he'll be fine.
  4. This is awesome! I'm so insanely pumped that we have both of these prospects! I really like that they're both confident yet rational as well. They know it will take a bit of time, but I honestly believe that the talent level that these two posses will enable both to crack the lineup a little earlier than some expect. In a couple years they will be linemates again and will blow people's socks off!
  5. I just got in a debate with a guy I know at Canadian tire lol. He was bashing Petterson for being too skinny and kept going on about how much of a beast Glass is. I asked him if he was aware that Glass and Petterson are both 6'2" and that there's only 13 pounds difference between the two, and that Petterson put up his numbers playing against men. I then dropped the mic and exited the premises lol. Of course this kid needs to fill out, and he will. Who knows if he'll be better than Glass or not. But to hate on him because of 13 pound difference is ridiculous in mind.
  6. Yes! We got Jonah Gadjovich! I love this guy! Big time goal scorer and gritty as hell! http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=252476 PS grows a mean beard too lol
  7. Absolutely! The picks we're making in this draft will help bring our days of record breaking low scoring to an end.
  8. I'm hoping for David Farrance or another puck moving D man now at 55.
  9. Kole Lind High hockey IQ. Great shot. Our team is becoming more interesting to watch. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=200933
  10. If we manage to nab Comtois at 55 that would be an absolute steal. He's fast, plays with a real edge, and puts up pretty solid numeber. As for 33 I think Robertson or Hague would be better picks.
  11. I would've loved Jokiharju but the Blackhawks already took him.
  12. My guess is that with Avalanche drafting Makar, and likely trading Duchene, they are going to pick Robertson. Maybe not though seeing as how they have Jost in the pipeline.
  13. 33rd - I'd love to see us draft Hague or Timmins 55th - hopefully Maxime Comtois is still available. The kid plays with serious edge and speed, all while putting up solid numbers. We don't have many power forwards. He could fill that void. PS interesting note, the past few months myself and quite a few others had mentioned hoping that Benning could make a trade for a mid first rounder so that we could draft both a high end centre as well as either Foote or Hague. It looks like tomorrow that could happen without having to make a trade!
  14. It sounds like Benning tried to out fox McPhee and it didn't work. At the end of the draft there was an interview with the assistant GM to VGK and he said that there was a trade in place to swap their 6th for the Canucks 5th but they didn't go for it because they knew that Glass would still be there at 6th. So I'm pretty sure the Canucks flying in Glass for an interview was a diversion in hopes of scaring Vegas into making that trade. I honestly thought it was pretty easy to read between the lines with everything Benning had been saying the last few weeks and see that the Canucks were going with Petterson all along (as mentioned in my previous posts). I think Benning is a solid scout, but is not very good at running diversions lol. It's no big deal of course, we probably missed out on 5th rounder to swap those picks. I just find the whole thing kind of funny now that we can look at it in retrospect.
  15. I am so bummed St. Louis just drafted Kostin! I wish we had traded up to pick him
  16. I wonder if the Canucks will be tempted to extend the Sedins by one or two years so that they can continue to mentor our next Swedish "twins" in Dahlen and Petterson. I think we're really going to be spoiled watching this next tandem of swedes for years to come. I love that Dahlen brings some grit, and that both are tenacious! Very pumped right now.
  17. I recall immediately after the draft lottery results Trevor Linden confidently said that he was okay with picking 5th because the Canucks could pick what will end up being the best player in the draft with that pick. Of course that could just be Linden's regular optimismistic outlook. But that also makes me think that they'd already targeted a player beyond the regular big names (Patrick, Hischier, Middlestadt and Vilardi) that they think will turn out to be the best player of the draft. I'm thinking they've targeted either Glass, Makar or Petterson as being that player. Of course this is total speculation on my part, but I'm just trying to read into the clues
  18. Oh man, this picture made me cringe... knowing that he was clearly struggling so bad in front of all of his peers while failing to do a single pull-up. I honestly feel for the kid, nonetheless this pic still made me laugh lol. How could he have not prepared for the combine though? Especially after all the flack that Bennett got for not being able to do a pull-up (and he was injured!). It's honestly kind of concerning that he didn't prepare for this. And I've been among the biggest Middlestadt supporters on here.
  19. I wonder if Sakic is tempted to trade down and take Adam Foote's son.
  20. I'd love to see us draft DiPietro with one of our seconds. The kid oozes tenacity and character from the games and interviews I've seen of him.
  21. I agree. I'm sincerely trying to get pumped on Glass because so many experts and fellow fans are, but after watching his highlights I just don't see it as well. Also, I know stats never paint a complete picture, but aside from this season his stats aren't great. If we do draft him I really hope that we are wrong. After watching Mittelstadt's highlights on the other hand, I am absolutely sold. I think he could very well turn into the best C in this draft. Hopefully the experts keep raving about Glass because that will help ensure that Mittelstadt falls to us lol
  22. I totally agree. Every time we have a college prospect I refrain from allowing myself to get too excited until they're signed. I really hate that 3 year rule. It puts these kids in a tough spot too, because after three years of college/university they are forced to decide to either get their degree by finishing their final year, or take a gamble and sign with the drafted team, hoping that they'll make the squad. One of these days we are bound to lose one of these highly touted college kids.
  23. I've read a few times now that Patrick compares to Getzlaf and that Hischier compares to Datsyuk. And from what I've seen of each of those prospects, those are pretty good comparisons, albeit lofty ones. My question is, say that Patrick and Hischier both manage to live up to those comparisons, which player (IF their careers weren't near their ends) would you rather have; Getzlaf or Datsyuk? From an entertainment standpoint I would take the dynamic Datsyuk. From a gritty leadership stand, it would definitely be Getzlaf. But because I have just watched the most boring, lowest scoring two seasons in Canuck history, my pick would have to be Datsyuk. Come on Canucks, please get Hischier! PS obviously this is an oversimplification, but it's still an interesting exercise.
