  1. Aside from conditioning and work ethic there is a issue with his consistency. Based on one user's comment he showed great performance in some games and in some games he was one of the worst player's on the ice. (must have been a comment a few pages ahead of this current page). A user who saw some games in Utica this season. Well, I think it's disppointing when a player selected #6 overall does not show the necessary work ethic. I am pretty curious how he is going to look like with proper conditioning and work ethic. As Willie Desjarding puts it: Time will tell.
  2. Based on the information being available on the internet Tryamkin signed a 3-year deal with his new team. In addition he mentioned that he won't re-sign with Canucks. Hopefully the Canucks land someone like Darren Raddysh or a European D-Man who is a UFA this summer and JB watched at the World's to bolster their D. .
  3. O.K, here is my proposal: To VAN: McKinnon To COL: either Hutton, Sbisa or Edler and a 2nd CBJ pick Would that be appealing to COL in your point of view?
  4. Great post! Well, personally I think that JB is going to select a 1C at the NHL draft, because every time I listened very carefully to JB he mentioned that the Canucks want a 1C and a puck moving D-Men. The fact that he stated the 1C before a puck moving D-Men indicates the priorities. Hence, top priority is most likely a 1C for this years draft. JB tried to get a 1C in last years draft but missed out on Pierre Luc Dubois. RNH is in my perspective not a 1C. Tavares will be too old when the Canucks window opens in 3-4 years from now. We need a young 1C, in the age from 18 - 22. I would be very interested in getting some more suitable proposals for 1C the Canucks can target in a trade. What teams are willing to trade their 1C to Vancouver in return for Tanev and probably a pick? COL with Duchene, McKinnon? .....
  5. Heiskanen is probably one of the players in this years draft which is very close to become a NHL player. If he has a good offseason there is a good chance that he would play NHL this fall. I don't think that Heiskanen is high on JB's list, because he is a LHD. Liljegren is an incredible skater, no doubt about it. Nevertheless this would be a high risk / high reward choice to pick him at #5. If this gamble turns out to be a bad one, JB would be in real trouble..
  6. Here is another option for the G: trade for Eddie Lack and bring him back to VAN. Markstrom and Lack as a G tandem for the next season would be nice..... No need to re-sign Miller, even he is a great guy....
  7. Would bet that the two right hand D-Men Henri Jokiharju and Connor Timmins are on the top of JB's list for the #33 pick. Connor Timmins scouting report sounds very promising. He is a good skater, puck mover and can run a power play. That's exactly what JB is looking for. There is a good chance that Timmins will still be available at #33. Anderson-Dolan could also be available at #55. Picking up both of them would be awesome.....
  8. Personally I would believe that the Sabres go for a D-Men. They need D-Men desperately, their D- corps is a mess. Provided they land 2-3 D-Men by trade I could imagine that they pick Tippett. Most likely the Avalanche decide to pick a D-Men . They have some skill upfront with Landeskog, McKinnon Duchene therefore not really convinced that they select a forward. Would leave some more C opportunities for us (Vilardi, Mittelstadt,Glass).
  9. I did some research on Vesalainen. You are probably right with your assumption that Vesalainen will go off the board in the 1st round, As for the pick at #33 I thought Urho Vaakanainen could be available - that would be awesome.
  10. Jim stated that the Canucks are looking for a playmaking centre iceman and a true pp qb #1 defencemen - in that order. I conclude that picking a centre is the top-priority. Necas is a very good skater with speed and a very good work ethic, but not a playmaking centre from what I have read in some scouting reports. Vilardi is considered lacking speed, at least in Craig Button's opinion. I think Heiskanen is not on Jim's list. Ben Kuzma and Grady Sas mentioned that the Canucks would probably having Makar in their top-5. Botchford suggested in his story in "The Province" that Liljegren could be in the Top-5 List from Jim. As mentioned I don't see the Canucks picking a D-Man at #5. They go for a Center, either Mittelstadt or Glass, hopefully.
  11. Craig Button is raised some concerns in terms of Vilardis speed. Given the fact that the NHL is a speed game I would select Vilardi with the 5th overall. He is a playmaking center, he is able to finish and his size and toughness would be definitely helpful for the Canucks. Due to the fact that Glass & Mittelstadt posses far more speed both players they definitely have an edge over Vilardi. I do even see a good chance that Vilardi would be still available at #5, because I expect Dallas and also Colorado to pick D (Heiskanen, Makar, probably not Liljegren).
  12. would be awesome, taken into consideration that Foote is a RHS. Foote being availabe at the top of the 2nd round would be a marvel because so many teams have needs in terms of RHS D-Men. Instantly the Maple Leafs come to my mind who would probably go for either Foote or Hague given their spot in the 1st round. I think the Canucks would have need to trade a player in order to get a 1st round pick in the mid 1st to get either Foote or Hague.
  13. Would be very happy if Urho Vaakanainen is available at #33. Depends on the needs other teams selecting ahead of VAN at the late 1st round and on top of the 2nd round have when it comes to D. Maybe Urho Vaakanainen falls some more spots down in the rankings. Imagine Craig Button did not list him in the 1st round in his lastest ranking dated March 21. I can't believe that ... He is obviously wrong. ...... Even such guys like Button can be wrong..
  14. I remember that the Canucks would pick at either #54 or #55 with their 2nd round pick aquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets for Tortorella. It sounds like CBJ has already make a decision that the Canucks get this 2nd round pick for the 2017 draft. At least that would be my understanding based on the fact that Trevor Linden talked about having 6 picks for the 2017 draft. CBJ have an option to grant it to the Canucks either in 2017 or 2018.
  15. I am also high on Heiskanen and would take him over Makar and Liljegren, because of the fact that the has a pretty complete game and he has played one full season in the finnish top league, the Liiga. Based on that playing experience he should be far more close to the NHL than Makar. I have read the draft profile from Liljegren published by Janik Beichler on the canucksway and Janik doubted the hockey sense of Liljegren. Liljegren has the advantage that he is a RHS. Nevertheless I wouldn't take him. The Canucks need prospects that make the NHL soon. Liljegren is too much of gamble right now. ....
  16. would like the canucks to pick a D-Man with QBPP ability at # 33. There's a good chance that such a D-Man will be available at # 33. I think it's common sense that the Canucks need a D-Man in this years draft. I don't see a need for the canucks to pick a winger like Vesalainen in this year's draft. Vesalainen heavily struggled to adjust to the men's game in the top league in sweden (SHL) and subsequently in the top league in Finland. Not convinced that this guy should be worth a second round pick.
