Interesting to know! Thanks for this; I think Juolevi will step nicely onto the top PP unit and one of the two top pairings in Utica immediately, should he fail to make the Canucks out of camp. This may be a bit of a rookie crunch, but I think it would be neat to see him paired with Chatfield, as I loved watching the London-Windsor playoff series last year in which both players absolutely starred for their teams.

Only an 80 pound weight difference Lol

By the way cut Pettersson's weight in half and he's 83.5 pounds lol.  So Pettersson is essentially 2/3's the mass Elias is. Wow to get that velocity off.  Kids got game.

I know it was a mistake, but man, way to perpetuate the Elias-is-too-small thing :P

    Rush17's calculator: 227 - 167 = 60

Also Rush17, ignoring his calculator: 80 POUNDS, EEEEEK

CDC, tomorrow, probably: Benning sucks! EP sucks! Math suckssss!!!!

All in good fun :) It's damn impressive that he can leverage that sort of velocity. Just another thing to be amazed at that will make summer last far too long!

Sounds like Lind and Cull are on the same page - I predict a moderately slow start to the season for him in Utica, followed by a strong second half as he picks up the pro game. For me, a successful first pro year would see him becoming a fringe top-six player for the Comets by season's end while contributing on one of the PP units and maintaining his edge and drive.

A year later, definitely a good pick.

Look like 2nd line right wing will be Pettersson’s spot on Tre Kronor, at least per today’s practice lines:

That 2RW slot has served him pretty well this year (it was his usual lineup spot with Växjö). :)

Dirty top-4 D-corps this team has... great spot for Elias to be in though! Backlund is a heck of a player

I didn't realize how good his shot was. There were multiple clips where the puck exploded off his stick straight up beat the goalie.

The shot from the half boards at about 1 min in was a great example of that shot... Not easy to score from there unscreened with a wrister.

    Is the game over?

Does anyone have any thoughts on how Lind played?

Take a peek in the Utica thread for some updates - First period just finished, Comets are up 2-0. Lukas Jasek has two assists, Lind pointless so far. He's played mostly with Wacey Hamilton and Michael Carcone; it's been tough to get a good look at him, but hasn't stood out negatively. I'll update after the game as well!

Can he get out of (or Canucks buy out) his Czech League contract and sign with the Canucks / Comets for next year?

I don't know for sure, but I believe it's fairly standard for some European players to have NHL out-clauses. Think Sid or one of the other Euro-hockey genii on here was talking about that within the last couple months

My understanding was that these players can still be sent down to Utica after the Canucks' season ends:

    Sautner, Boucher, Goldobin, Motte

Admittedly, I stand to be corrected if the information isn't correct.

You're bang on, they were all papered down at the deadline and were recalled.

Edit: To add, Motte needs to sit once more to be eligible for this

Every time I click on this thread the fool in me is hoping there is some new development on his possible return to the Nucks.

Didn't some wise old fool once say, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result"?

Asking because I do the same as you :(

Nice to see Juolevi on the first pairing with Tallinder for the playoffs.

Is that Mark Fraser at 2LD?? Holy, I remember him playing for the Leafs 4-5 seasons ago! Also, Olli looks like Tallinder's wee lad.

With the game tonight, Markstrom's save percentage is now at .911, higher than last year's of .910. Still lower than the .915 he had two years back, but hey, it's something.

Positivity during tank season? Way to lead by example, sir!

Sure beats when he was with Trinec. With that organization, the bouncing around was between three tiers of Czech pro and the U20 team. And when he did get time in Extraliga, he bounced between 5-10 minutes on the 4th line and being a healthy scratch.

1st Tier bouncing >> 1st-3rd Tier, age-gap bouncing. The analytics say so

Jašek holds onto his first line spot for another game!

Currently leading 1-0. No points yet for Jašek.

Don't think I've ever seen a player bounce around the depth chart and lineup like he has this year! Hope he finishes the season strong playing in the top six!

No point for Brassard tonight. 3 SOG and a -1 in a 3-2 loss to North Bay. It’s been 23 games since Brassard has gone pointless two games in a row, so odds are he hits the scoresheet again in tomorrow’s game against Sudbury.

Nice consistency from him, his second half has been excellent

That rep exists in minds of some Canuck fans and media but isn't seen that way around the league.   Never hear that, for example, here in Ontario where the rep the Canucks currently have is a team to be concerned about in the next few years as everywhere one looks one of your prospects is doing something of note.

Really?? That's kinda nice! Though I now have mental images of CDC'ers as mother hens with their profile pics as heads, strutting about proudly upon hearing that news.

I’m a big Sikura fan as well (I think we’ve chatted previously on this). In particular, I value his play driving ability. He’s such a perfect compliment to Gaudette in this area. Adam is no slouch himself, but Sikky has that extra gear when he brings out the feints and dangles and starts weaving his way through multiple defenders. And then Gaudette knows where to go to receive the pass. They’re magic together and I’d love to see them take their show together to the pro ranks. I do think the Canucks have other options in their pool who might be able to fill the same role as Sikura on a future line with Gaudette. But those two already have proven chemistry, and I think their act would continue to play very well in the NHL.

Put Jake on their line and create widespread fan happiness?
