I think Jake remains on a pretty tight leash that is slowly being lengthened (Green has said as much numerous times).   The "fighting" part is there if he needs it - but I don't sense he goes around looking for it.   Trust me, having been in many rooms that hit on Keith last night was more effective than a fight.   It really changed tone of the game if you were watching.

Yah I was watching Jake had good game so let me ask you this would you trade Jake strait up for Sanheim? And would Phili do it? Top 6 F, for a top 4 D

He had six hits last game and has averaged more than 4 for about a month to pull into top 10 in entire NHL in forwards hits/60 (and tie for 30th overall period).   He is even starting to get penalties for being strong (that phantom tripping penalty last game).   He will find the balance.   Snarl isn't his problem, getting a bit more offense to his game is the next step.

BTW to @-AJ- - what do you mean about "Virtanen could not keep up with the twins"?   Do you mean in terms of drop passes or ??? as if you mean skating, were you making a joke or ???

Why is it then when you watch Jake play you are left with the feeling that there should have been more . Green feels the same way, its there he just needs to bring it more. If we had a bigger meaner line up you would see more snarl from Jake, he would be more aggressive. These kids need protection right from Bo and Brock to Stecher . Our leadership doesn't bring this look at Pouliot dropped his gloves to come to a fellow team mates defense, when is the last time the Sedins dropped there gloves to come to someone's aid. I don't expect Jake to be a fighter, just a little chipy  and feisty . Like I said before it will come but he needs time and a little help. Take Winnipeg , Ehlers drops the gloves and will fight because the leader ship plays with snarl.

I like Bo but he is incredibly soft. We have been lead by a soft ( no pushback physically ) captain for the last X years and I would rather have Gudbranson captain at least he sticks up for a teammate. We need to change the culture in the room and with Horvat who is soft and doesn't stick up for teammates I don't think it is a good idea. & No I don't dislike Horvat he is a great player and a good leader just not the right leader to take over right after Henrik retires. Just my opinion. He would better be suited for Captain at 26-27

I agree to a point BO is soft because our leadership is soft period, learn by example we get some snarl backing him and you will see the change . The mentality of the room has to change and that starts with the Sedins gone. They may be good upstanding citizens but when in the trenches you need to bring something special. Bo has that in him.

They have CAP issues in Philly and fitting in a high demand UFA versus a steady team friendly cost in Tanev may tip the scales.

I would love Sanheim, so would Tanev fit their cap and if so even more reason to sign John Carlson,  Sanheim is a lefty so who are you moving on the left side or are you cleaning house::D

Tanev alone is a lot more than "scraps" and how many players who are no longer going to be waiver eligible and are sitting out games are going to demand a king's ransom?    Signing John Carlson versus acquiring a young Dman with ceiling to go with your emerging very young squad makes zero sense.

I agree Tanev has worth but would you if you were Phili trade Sanheim for Tanev ? Signing Carlson would give the blue line stability. That is what it needs.
