I believe having AGM's is a great idea for this league.

Not only does it help people learn the ropes, it helps add to the fun.

So far if I was the owner of the Redwings, I would sack me and hire HOH as GM.

you have a unreal pipeline and a respected voice and impact around the league, adding HOH is going to make Detroit a serious threat. There's some terrible owners out there but even the worst could see you've been cookin up something big in Michigan

TRADE: The Edmonton Oilers have made a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks.

    To EDM:

Want to thank Surfer for the smooth negotiations.

Moving on from Justus was tough as we believe he has a good shot at becoming a key part of a NHL franchise and wish him nothing but the best.

Chicago would like to welcome Erik! After watching him last season i saw flashes of what i think could be a highly productive 2nd pair dman. With his high entry denial rate and 15 points over his last 32 games i felt it was worth gambling on Brannstrom having a potential breakout season in 23-24.

Joining what i'm hoping will be the most productive blueline the Hawks have iced since i took over, maybe we'll finally make the playoffs...

Don't think there's a time frame, and honestly there's probably a couple clubs (though I've been too busy to pay much attention) who could potentially use more active GMs before we even think about expansion of two more teams anyway. Not speaking for the rest of the exec, but I think we'd be pretty happy just getting through a season with something near full participation at this point.

Guess thats likely to fluctuate anyway as year to year people's lives change and their ability/desire to invest time changes. Was more curious about the gameplan but we'll make it work when the time comes ::D

I would guess that an expansion franchise is a much more attractive proposition than a neglected franchise.

I was offered the Ducks at one point and wasn't at all interested in taking on that roster, it was bare of assets and loaded with bad contracts.

Thats a good point, when I've played the EA NHL i always prefer to make my own team through the "Expansion Franchise" lol way more fun to create your teams identity yourself

Given the amount of trouble the exec went through for two years trying to fill those teams and the months of thought and discussion that went in to contraction, I don't think it's a pressing concern (unfortunately).

Ya i don't doubt any of that, more than appreciate the effort put in to keep the league moving, but just in reference to the cap changes and 2 potential expansion drafts is there a idea for how long we'll wait before we entertain the idea of bringing back a team?

If it's $88m, we will be adding our 3% (or whatever it was) until GML expands to 32 teams again.

Out of curiosity how long are we going to wait before an expansion? If we had someone apply today are they waiting till next year so we all get a heads up?

Dang. He was my primary target in free agency - great signing @Sludge!

I bet we both noticed he was unsigned during the playoffs, he looked pretty decent out there!

We clearly think alike, I'll have to hit you up for some trade talks in the future ;)

  8. Chicago Defensive Prospect Refection

after taking a gamble on a offensively focused defenseman with our 1st round pick this year, we thought we would take a look at our current pipeline at D and reflect on the only thing that matters when judging defensemen, POINTS!

21 2nd  LD Stanislav Svozil 20yo - 78 points 56 games in the WHL, 2 points 1 game in the AHL, 1 point 2 games in the NHL

    21 3rd  RD Maxence Guenette 22yo - 40 points 72 games in the AHL

22 2nd  RD Christian Kyrou 19 - 20 goals 77 points 64 games in the OHL this past season.

22 2nd  LD Artyom Duda 19yo - 5 goals 13 points 14 games in the MHL, 3 points in 14 games in the KHL.

UFA - LD Alexander Nikishin 21yo - 55 points 65 games in the KHL

and now to welcome our newest addition...

23 1st  LD Mikhail Gulyayev 18yo - 25 points 22 games in the MHL, 4 points 12 games in the VHL, 1 point 13 games in the KHL

there is still a very long road ahead for all of these players, and with only a handle full of defensive spots available in a NHL lineup most wont end up playing their career at the NHL level, but were going to help these players reach their potential and hope to see them in a Chicago jersey one day!
