what about demko's stat after 12 games when his sv% was below .894 and goals against over 3? he was 6th last among goalie that have played 10 games at the time. when you played so little games your stats are going to roller coaster depending on how good or bad you played. he played bad yes but the team also gave up a lot more high danger scoring chance when he's in net vs demko and that's facts. while he hasn't been good the defense haven't provided him any supports either.. when he's in net the high danger scoring chance against is a lot higher than when demko is in net on average.

Halak have been poor lately but to single him out as the only reason we lost the game is laughable.. loser mentality looking for an excuse.. the high danger chance in this game is 2.5:1 the defense was atrocious and Halak couldn't make a save to bail them out. just like last night Georgiev couldn't make a save to keep his team in it after coming in ice cold.. games could have gone a lot better if we didn't throw all those blind passes in the first period eh? then Halak wouldn't be put in those situation? it's a collective bad effort and halak shares the biggest blame but to single him out as if he's the only reason.. so what about the anaheim game?? why is that a poor team effort when Demko couldn't make a save to bail them out?

Demko's numbers where influenced by back to back blow outs under green, the team plays completely under Bouadreau than they did green, Like i said in another post about Halak if league average is .905 has been below that in 8/12 games 6/12 for Demko, Halak has had to face a High of 35 shots in his 12 starts in Demko's first 12 Games he had a high of 42,39 and 35 2/3 he finished below a .900sv% given the team had given up on Green and bleed chances that is more excusable tonight's game effort wise would have been a good game under green. out of Demko's 43 games played he has only 4 games where his sv% is below .850 compared to Halak's 3 in 12 games that's about 1in3 games for Halak compared to Demko, Since the Coaching change the team has played better and Has given Halak some run support in goals and he hasn't been able to do the same when it matters, Unlike Demko's "bad" start (which if you exulted the back to back blow outs cause Travis can't coach Demko had only been under .900 3 times which is hella impressive considering how the team was playing) Halak is doing it when the team needs him to step up the most in the mist of a playoff push. Georgiev is also considered not be the best back up either, the ducks game was a very rare bad game for Demko. when has been has good as he has been all year you can excuse a bad performance, Halak under Boudreau has not given the team a chance to win. Not only that in his first 12 Games which had him below .900 Demko had only lost 1 game where the canucks had out shot their opponent. Halak has done it in 2/3 of his last 3

Thing is in more than half of Halaks games even if he allowed 2 or less goals the best he could hope for is overtime. At one point does the team get some blame for not playing well enough in 2/3 of his starts.

Game 1 Canucks vs red wings Canucks lose 3-1 on Paper yeah that sucks but most people forget that Rathbone had scored late but was waived off Halak .900 Sv% with 2 goals against

Game 2 Canucks vs Flyers 2-1 loss once 1st goal for Philly was rough but he was able to close the door, Halak .929sv%

Game 3 Canucks vs Ducks 3-2 Ot loss game where Pettey had to score shorthanded as Halak took a penalty in the last minute .900sv%

Game 4 Canucks vs  Avs 7-1 loss Halak comes in for relief allowing 1 goal on 9 shots for a .889sv%

Game 5 Canucks vs Ducks 4-1 Loss Halak .892sv%

Game 6 Canucks vs Boston the last of the green era 3-2 loss Halak with a good game with a .929sv%

Canucks are out scored 15-8 in the green era canucks with Halak in net not great but the green era canucks had issues scoring to begin with

Game 7 Canucks vs Blue Jackets 4-3 win with a good comeback as Halak was able to shut the door and help with the team confidence but still didn't have the best game with .870sv%

Game 8 Canucks vs Kings 2-1 Shootout win .971sv% for Halak easily his best as a canuck

Game 9 Canucks vs Blackhawks win 3-1 the one being a weakish goal but he had a decent game other wise with .952sv%

Game 10 Canucks vs Islanders 6-3 loss Halak gets Chased in the 1st allowing 5 goals and a .583sv%

Game 11 Canucks vs Ducks lose 7-4 with Halak being on the ice for 2 goals and .818sv%

Game 12 lastly tonight Canucks vs Devils 7-2 loss Halak yanked with 6 goals on 14 shots .571 sv%

Canucks get outscored 12- 15 under him here though 3/5 of games played canucks score 3 or more goals in the game most nights that's good enough to get the win if the league average for SV% is .905% than Halak has finished 8/12 games below that mark, Hard to win games when your goalie is putting up numbers like that with the Canucks being a -3 Under Halak and Boudreau if we got .905 goaltending than its safe to assume we'd be in a positive goal differential with Halak

Maybe if our goalies didn’t have to face half a dozen 2 on 1’s a game our backups would have better luck, this goes back to Holtby too and is not a new phenomenon here.

Speaking of Holtby .912sv% with a half decent defense in front of him.

Maybe, just maybe, our issues run deeper than the back up goalie.

yes but when did Holtby give up 8 goals in back to back 1st period starts? Holtby was fine and a cap casualty other wise they would have kept him

The first 3 were defensive lapses the 4th was on Halak. The whole team played like s***, period.

sure there was a defensive lapse the caused a rush to happen but Myers played the 2on1 Perfect in taking the pass away, Halak wasn't square to Hughes and was to deep left Jack Hughes a lot of room to shoot and it's in the back of the net, on a 2on1 if there is no pass 80% of the time your goalie should be able to make the save the pass option was blocked of by Myers and Halak should be aware of that, the 2nd goal bad Turn over on Myers how ever Halak stays back door to long and never pushes up to challenge the guy into the slot once again making him small and exposing all the holes. 3rd goal no chance really how ever if i am going to nitpick Halak was late to push off to Bodquist so instead of making a quick shot it allows him to get set up, 4th goal doesn't poke check when should of and ends up in the back of the net think most here will agree that's a bad goal, 5th goal Halak is too deep once again yes it bounces off Schenn but Halak is to deep and doesn't give himself a chance to save a tip if you are that deep most goalies try and get as close as possible to the screen as it helps take away the tip, 6th goal another Brutal one and gets the Hook
