I totally agree with you on the drafting numbers you have stated. But that doesn’t mean Juolevi and Woo plus our second is nothing compared to a kings number one pick. Yes it may be top 5 pick considering. but it can also be a 10-12 pick. Depending on the lottery draft. Who’s to say kings land 5 or better. That would be the only RISK trading these two top end defensive pairings. But it will also give us more cap room a lot sooner then later... hence Lou going the other way for Kovy;) it would be wicked if both players found their game in a different city! It’s plausible for sure! And a bonus would be if Kings did land a top 5 pick in first round that will only make our team stronger and a brighter future much more quickly. I’m sure kings would love couple 1st round pick dman. that are more valuable in today’s market. So it’s definitely a Risk on both ends! Just hoping we get more lucky then LA does lol. We suck at Getting a first round pick lol! How many times we finish at the bottom last five years and always pick 5-10 pick ratio! We have the worst luck I swear haha!

Ok I like your opinion on the matter! All good points! But if we’re actually looking to get any better we have to make some huge changes 100 percent! Players and management should learn from none selfish players like this beauty Nathan MacKinnon! Ok here’s who I would protect in expansion draft! Pettersson, Boeser, Horvat, Miller, Podkolzin, Gaudette and Sutter/Ferland for defence Definitely Huges, Edler, Tanev. Those guys are valuable to this team! Woo is good, Juolevi I like aswell! Just wish Olli can stay healthy! I would expose Myers 100! We don’t need him when Trymkin comes back to the big show after his contract ends this spring with half the cost myb more! I’d protect Demko! These Players/bums I feel! need to find new home and our management definitely wasted money on these Guys! This is my honest opinion! Starting off with the obvious! Lou Ericksson! So difficult to get rid of Lolol! Then Myers, Pearson, Beagle, baertchi and Benn! All over paid! wasted money! that could definitely have went to far better players! That we missed out on! That’s the honest truth! One thing I do love about Benning was his drafting:) for the most part lol! But a lot of his signings have been for the most part... just very terrible! Top ten picks don’t mean anything! Lots top five picks that suck who shouldn’t even been there! Not even remotely close to what your implying! 2nd round pick worth more then u think! Lots of greats in the nhl drafted in 3-8 rounds who light it the f up in the big show! Your way off buds! Sorry to say! Lots of Dynamic players who been drafted 3 round to late 7 round! Datsyuk, lindstrom, Zetterberg, Kucherov, paveski, Bufuglien, Rinne, Hasek, Jaime Benn the list goes on! And that’s not even including The undrafted players! So yah my value is there! Juolevi, Woo and a second alone is worth more then their first! They looking to rebuild why not go after couple first round top end prospects? Defence is exactly what they need... Doughty needs help can’t do everything by himself;) maybe Ericksson plays better in a different uni. Who knows. Gamble gamble.

That’s a very very long time considering... Kovalchuk has one year on his contract after this season plus Kings first rd pick could benefit us tremendously knowing how this years draft is going to be stacked!

Actually LA on a full out rebuild! They want to be younger! Only Kopitar, Doughty secures spots on this rebuild. Just Quick unsure about LA plans for him. Joulevi actually playing good hockey. Don’t know why you think he’s broken? Jett Woo has been playing pretty good hockey himself! Only drafted both of them in first round! Defensemen are very valuable in the trade market these days! Those two players and our second is more then enough to perhaps grab their first pick. Plus we’re taking Kovalchuk a guy they obviously gonna part ways with! That could easily renew his stride playing elsewhere! Just like Lou could do the same playing in LA. Who knows? Definitely not you. Just my opinion against yours.

Van trades - Loui Eriksson + Jett Woo + Olli Joulevi + 2nd rd pick LA trades - Ilya Kovalchuk + 1st rd pick We get 1st pick back. gamble on Kovalchuk if he doesn’t work out we get a cap dump. Offload him end of term! Which is less then Eriksson payroll. No more Lou headache. Who knows maybe it’s what they both need to re-energize their careers. Something gotta give... who knows. myb we even miss playoffs? Then we get two first round picks! in a strong draft year.

Lolol come on now it’s not that bad... they get a good prospect. Erickson could easily play better in a new environment just like Neal did... JVR struggling with flyers aswell and needs to find a new home! Ferland a stud Pearson will help aswell. Laughton sucks too. We’re taking risk just as much as they are with Konecy. I would go for Konecy but not willing to trade a Brock Boeser for him. Just my opinion.

Ok if it’s so off maybe we do something like this instead... van trades- Ferland + Pearson + Jet Woo + Lou Erickson + 2nd rd pick total cap hit of 14 mill Phil trades- Konecy + JVR + Laughton + 1st rd pick cap hit of 14. 75 mill they get Erickson remaining 3 years while we get JVR remaing 4 years cap hit. They also get Jet Woo a top prospect to sweet the deal up.
