Yes, I suppose it is possible that they have agreed to trade Schenn early, and even take a bit less just to let him and his family get settled by the TDL.  If that's the case, then hopefully they have a handshake agreement in place for him to resign with the team over the Summer.

If a 3rd + throwaway prospect is all that's being offered now, I say hold out until the TDL when teams who can't find D depth somewhere else get desperate.  If they can't get more than that at the TDL, then just hold onto him and resign him.
