I honestly think his feeling is mutual. Canucks brass made it a point to make him the first ever contract signed by Abbotsford when they brought the team home.

Thing is like Gino in his later years he’s developed some scoring touch. His goal last night was a deft tap in, fight thru the d coverage to get his stick on the ice for the on timer and put it past the net minder. A lot of rookies would have flubbed that pass and missed.

I don’t think there is a game he plays in where you don’t notice him. His one big downside is that he can sometimes can cross the line too much and cost his team with his antics. It doesn’t happen much anymore but it does here and there still.

Yes, I notice that part too.  But I think it probably results from the fact that he knows his role on the team and always feels some pressure to go out there make his presence known.  For someone with his role, it's hard not to be constantly doing that without crossing the line sometimes.

Also, regarding his goal last night, if it blurred my vision a bit I could have sworn that was a Kuzmenko tip in!:)

I really really really hope that Vinny gets a game with the big club at some point.  I'm not sure if they could sign him to a 10 day contract or something short that doesn't eat up one of the 50 NHL contracts allowed.

Vinny reminds me a lot of Gino.  A heart and soul tough guy who is always there to stick up for his teammates, make things happen on the ice, and his teammates love him for it. Also like Gino, while he doesn't score much, when he does score the fans and the bench go crazy, and they always seem to be big goals!  I hope we at least keep him in the organization until he retires.

I think the NHL has left him in the dust.  Not much place for bigger, slower guys anymore.

Hmmm... seems like your recollection of Tryamkin is a bit distorted.  Doesn't seem to fit very well with his Dobber Prospects analysis anyway:

A massive presence on the back end who skates like the wind and possesses a booming shot. Given the right opportunity could become a multi-category stud. Getting him back across the pond will be the challenge.

I think that’s where it settles,  if he returns here.

Even if someone offered more , I don’t think they’ll go past a single year.

But I think the familiarity of the Canucks and new russian contingent in players and D Coach in Gonchar,.    Well let’s say that very much outweighs a dinner at Tommy Tomatoes

    ;)

Just to add,  I spend a lot of time following the War in UKraine,  and although Yekaterinburg is far away from the Uk / RuZ border,.  Many there do not agree with what Putin is doing.

and sanctions imposed are having a major effect on cities further away from Moscow first.

@Hairy Kneel posted his team was playing well , but now seems to be on a huge losing skid.

and consider this , he is paid in Rubles,  supposedly in the 1m per season USD value.

but the Ruble is becoming worthless.

    I hope he gets out.

The guy he hits and then drops with is 6’ 5 and 225

Nik is 6 8” and 250 .. very above average skater , heads up ,  and a very respected shut down no nonsense D man with a 104 mph shot.

Andrey Pedan standnig watching the fight I see.  Love to see him and Tryamkin have a go. That would be a fight I'd pay to see!

Agreed.  They have a glut of high end D prospects.
    Grans could probably be had.
The one I’d want the most, but no way we get him would be Clarke.
Id probably consider adding if I had to if we could snag that kid.
He is going to be amazing

Agreed, although I would be just about as happy getting Grans, considering that he seems like a better long-term partner for Hughes.

Neither of the two remaining vets (Dowling & DiGuiseppi) had good nights tonight. DiGuiseppi was on for 4 even strength goals against. Stevens and Arseneau not in the lineup tonight either.

They have a tough schedule in Feb.

The addition of Raty should give them a boost.  Hope he's paired with Podkolizin.

    SCOUTING REPORT

A speedy, skilled forward, he handles the puck well and has a lot of offensive creativity. Excels at chipping pucks past opponents and retrieving them on the other side. Owns good hands and excellent moves in tight spaces. Has added strength since entering the NHL but could use more. Is very streaky offensively, and when he is not scoring the rest of his game tends to suffer.

Long Range Potential: Speedy, versatile winger.

Maybe, just maybe. He DOESN'T like it here? Not everyone thinks the same way. Even if it was a championship team, he might be one of those rare people that just doesn't like Vancouver.

Let it go. Move on. Clearly he has. Sounds like he has no intention of coming back.

There's been almost no trades made with any teams. This was always going to happen closer to the TDL (which is mercifully approaching).

Boeser doesn't have a LOT of value, but he does have some (rumoured to be ~ a late 2nd from a contender, with no cap/retention coming back). If we take back cap, it gets a little better which is why some of us are discussing other "ok" but underwhelming players like Kapanen or Fabbro  as potential returns (+picks/prospects). Young guys, with lower ceilings, who might otherwise potentially fill a roster need we have, at less cap, that expires sooner.

I would rather have the late 2nd for him than take a player whose salary we're probably just going to be wishing we could unload shortly after getting him.  I also find it hard to imagine we'd be getting more than a 2nd round pick or equivalent player for him, no matter what the situation.  If we retained some salary, would another team be willing to give us a first for him?  I'd love to think so, but can't see it (for Boeser that is -- not Horvat).

I was at that game, first Abby Canucks game for me, and that hit was so pointless.  The Wranglers team should have taken Gilbert out back and beaten him with a shoe.  The game was winding down, the Canucks were just as happy to wind down the clock as the Wranglers and then Gilbert does that.  This puts a potential target on every Wranglers back for the remainder of the game due to possible retribution.  Gutless, classless hit.  Calgary should cut/demote him.

Hard to imagine he only got two games for that.  Such a blatant head shot!

THISGUY WAS NPT THE BEST AT PURE SCORING OR ANYTHING ..HERE IS MY TAKE ID TOCCHET CAN GET THE CANUCKS TO PLAY LIKE HE DID IN THE NHL WE WILL BE A TEAM THAT IS FEARED EVERY GAME..LET THE STAR PLAYERS DO THEIR THING...IVE ALWAYS COMPLAINED ON HOW SOFT THE CANUCKS PLAY BUT YOU CANT DO IT EVERY GAME TOO MANY YOU NED TO COACH THAT WHEN AND PLAY SMART TOUGH HOCKEY SO YOU DONT BURN OUT..ID LIKE TO SEE THE CANUCKS CHANGE THIS WAY I THINK IT WILL HELP..THE MORE EMOTION THE CANUCKS HAVE THE BETTER THEY PLAY..THAT WORKS FOR ME IN EVERY DAY LIFE...

I sure hope so.  But unfortunately, having a tough coach doesn't necessarily make the players tough.  There are lots of examples of that, but right now Craig Berube, who was about as tough as they come, has one of the softest teams in the league.
