Literally nobody knows what a legit call is anymore. Embarrassing league right now
I would honestly love if a software was developed to call penalties virtually.

They go backwards with it 99% of the time when they do get the puck. No way that's not by design. Also collapse down low and give them the outside. Neither are conducive to clearing the zone.
That’s actually exactly what they’ve been doing the last month or so. They’re all just completely brain dead today.

2 shots, over 2 minutes hemmed in. We’re being badly out played.
This is one of the worst periods this season and there is a lot of competition

This is Baumgartner defense.
Does a coach really need to explain how to get the puck out of their own zone?

Puck goes back to the point, all 3 forwards are within arm reach of each other in front of price. Spread it out boys.

I’m guessing one of Veseys knocks was his skating. He kind of reminds me of Bo in his rookie season.

Gotta feel bad for Holtby, looks like we have no interest in this game

Check the van bench for blow darts lol. That was actually pretty good.

Just this last game Myer's fell down after taking a slapper to the shins, Quinn had a offensive giveaway when he was pressured by 2 defenders, we had a bad game on the dot and we gave up a goal on the PK. all the times the other team scored it was because green didn't call a timeout. Timeouts called only benefit the team who calls them, and think of the pyscholgy behind it. think of the other team knowing we are getting a timeout, I bet they're so scared how extra prepared we would be over them.
Fire Green, fire everyone. we didn't deserve to win more games in the past 10 games then 29 other teams, and it can't keep going on if we ontinue to play like this
What’s wrong with having an elite goalie as the foundation of your team identity? People act like relying on Demko is this horrible thing. The Leafs rely on Mathews, the Oilers rely on McDavid. What’s the difference?
I’m sure I’m not the only one who has seen a drastic adaptation in our structure in contrast to the beginning of the season and even the bubble. We collapse in front of Demko in our zone. We are also carrying the puck out of the defensive zone rather than whiffing on passes up to the neutral zone. This has reduced our turnovers dramatically which was the root cause of our regrettable start. These are all things they’re working on in practice implemented by the coaching staff and it’s clearly playing dividends.
Only in Vancouver will you find a fan base so desperate to defend a narrative that they’ll completely ignore all positive strides and pick out some microscopic mistakes in a 60 min game and call it the way we play. If JB would’ve canned TG when we were struggling it would’ve broke this team. Ironically, I believe JB saved is job, (if it ever was in jeopardy) by simply doing nothing. I’m critical of JB but I’m going to give him some cred here for just letting the team figure it out and keeping his hands in his pocket. We are getting better, I feel bad for the people that can’t enjoy that.

He doesn’t have a problem so much as he can try to hard to do it all himself when things aren’t going the Canucks’ way, which more often then not hurts the team.
he plays his best when he has a bit of an edge, but still utilizes his teammates.
Agreed, Kes had that same competitive edge. He was also guilty of the crimes you mentioned. It drives the players around them though. Even if they’re pissed off at him for loosing his mind it fires everyone up.

Remember when everyone was saying JT Miller had an attitude problem? That attitude isn’t a problem, it’s fire, he gives a damn and it’s infectious. My hat goes off to his competitive spirt. That’s how you build a winning culture. Love his game lately.

give holtby another shot. I think with the standings the way they are now, every non-Ottawa game is a must win. and with great luck holtby will improve his game in the second half
I literally feel sorry for him. Just sitting there patiently with his new mask. Could actually make a baby yoda meme of that.

Coaching with Demko in net right now is like Tippett coaching McDavid.
So our strategy tonight is the same as last night. Give McDavid the puck!
TG has also adapted. Demko is playing out of his mind but also we are collapsing In front of him instead of cherry picking at the top of the zone looking for a outlet pass. I’ve noticed some pretty clear changes in our structure.

Everything's a freeken'poker match with the guy. Imagine his marriage proposal: "So I got somethin to give ya', y'wanna bet some chips on what it is?..."
More like, here is an upper body piece to show my commitment to our team. We should expect to get married week by week.

Hard to pinpoint how much this hurts the avg fan..almost like it bruises your soul, scrambling for thought on a day-to-day basis!
I just hate how TG acts like he has this hidden information that we aren’t cool enough to to know.

This started with Gillis but it is just a form of gamesmanship cause teams will certainly take such information for granted; if you were a coach/player wouldn’t you ?
I mean, does it really change your game? How do you target a knee in today’s game? An upper body injury or right shoulder injury, what’s the difference in your strategy? Lol. Whatever, I just want to know what the hell is wrong with him.
-
I’m tired of the vague injury reports. I don’t understand how it’s evolved to this. What’s the motive? If other teams learn that EP has a right shoulder injury, do they think they’ll target that injury? Pretty soon it’s just going to be “body injury”

Matt Kiersted Is a lefty, we have enough LHD to dress 2 teams.

I know most are probably too young to remember a goalie by the name of Mike Liut. Mike (skill wise) was hands down the best goalie of his era. He stood on his head and carried his team in games that they shouldn’t have been in. He was so good that he actually won the Lester B in 1981 over Gretzky, he should’ve really won the hart. Anyway, Luit. Never had the luxury of a Vasilevskiy or MAF. He never got to play behind a good team and because of that never got the hardware. Liut should be in the HOF.
Anyway, This reminds me of this situation. If you were to actually poll the players I bet Demko ranks much higher. The media only sees the black and white stats. Let’s switch Demko and Vasilevskiy and see who ends up with the better numbers. I bet it’s Demko. I hope Demko doesn’t go down as a forgotten Liut because he never got to play behind a great team. He deserves better and I hope Benning or whoever can deliver that.

We’ve had 2 of the best goalie coaches in the league the last decade, to lose both would be completely unacceptable.
