    Okay. This is a crazy thought I had last night but... we always see situations where D-men move up into the Forward position, right? But why don't we ever see Forwards moving back? Especially if they're pretty decent defensively, why not have a right shot forward as a RHD?

     

    Is that ludicrous?

      Sergei Fedorov? And Burns was drafted as a forward before being converted to defence. Takes defencemen longer to develop and learn the finer details of the pro game, so imagine suddenly moving to defence once drafted. Look how long it took Burns and Byfuglien to hit their primes in the NHL.
