I figure it'll have to be done in increments. First, it'll have to be built to Arbutus. Then hopefully, it'll put enough pressure to densify and build up Broadway west of there to justify the cost of a tunnel underneath it. We probably won't have the budget to build it all the way to UBC all at once anyways.

How about stacking upwards instead of sprawling outwards to make transit more feasible?

If the earthquake happened in the middle of some godforsaken uninhabited nowhere with little or no human casualties or damage, do we at least get a tsunami out of it that we can sit glued in front of our computers watching CNN and reading every tweet about in anticipation?

Coastal Link Ferries has been doing it on its Bowen-Coal Harbour route while it was still in business. I believe English Bay Launch has since taken over service on that route and still has scheduled service on it.

Metrotown Station's already undergone a renovation in fairly recent years. Hopefully, it was designed to retrofit the gates.

The soccer community is still stuck in the 1800's. They wouldn't make even the most obvious practical common sense changes, since it would mess with "tradition".

I guess there's not much room to budge on a weekday evening, if they have to play on the same day, but hopefully, they schedule their games at different times on Saturdays and Sundays. I can actually see the MLS overtaking the NHL in many US markets, so some mutual respect and a gentleman's agreement not to step on each other's toes might be well advised.

How about out of courtesy to the fans of both sports?

Could the NHL schedule its games around other local pro sports teams if they already have a set schedule? Even if they have to play on the same day, at least avoid playing at the same time. It would just be a matter of mutual courtesy and respect between leagues. The NHL would yield to the NFL, MLB and NBA for game schedules, right?

Maybe the fact that UBC is not in winter session right now might have something to do with it.
