Freaking organization can't even kill a web board when they said they would.

Must suck to work at that place.

The errors and flat out mistakes continue to pile up- how Canuck can it get.

it's such a low priority they literally just forgot.

not having this site, is like experiencing a great event and then not having anyone to tell. makes my cocoon diminish further.

this has been like a family to me. why take them away? why?

if I had to guess, part of it might be that forum software is an ever increasing cybersecurity liability and the team doesn't want to be liable for the personal info of its fans when it's such a pain to keep the software patched and up to date. this is just a hunch, I have no specific knowledge of the organization's reasoning.

I don't care what you think. Defer to whoever you want, your opinion is worthless to me.

I said I don't like the way something looks and your response was "yeah but it makes money". So? Complete non-sequitur and now you're being passive aggressive and smarmy over a concept that flew completely your head.

you didn't say you didn't like the way it looked, you said one was dumb and the other was stupid. I was curious about your rationale.

I don't think anybody is being swayed into hiring KPMG for their business because of a massive sign at a hockey game. It seems like a poor use of resources on their behalf, but I'm not a partner at KPMG so its no skin off my ass. What I don't like is the giant glowing KPMG logo on the scoreboard, I just don't think it looks very nice.

As for the BC Ferries advertisement that used to be in its place, that one is extra dumb and particularly annoying to anyone who has grown up on or lived on the Island for any period of time. The BC Ferries are a crown corporation. They operate as part of the infrastructure of British Columbia. They should not be paying for some of the most expensive advertising space in the arena, just like I don't want to see an advertisement for the Massey Tunnel or Metro Vancouver Water Services.

forgive me, but I'll defer to the highly paid marketing execs at these firms who have access to their actual internal profit and loss and budgetary documentation to decide what investments are prudent as opposed to the conjecture of a random poster on a hockey forum.

Not like he was here during a period of time where that was remotely likely.   Aside from his rookie season.   And maybe two other years.   The roster was the roster.  Poor guy had to work with Bear,  Brock his rookie season, then Pearson and LE for the majority of the time.    Not exactly Kucherov,  Kane, Panarin etc.   Now he's got to work with a bit more, not much, but a bit more in NYI if he plays on their first line.

it's him putting the cart before the horse, not me. kid shouldn't be regretting not winning a cup, he should be regretting not getting his team into the dance.

The KPMG sign is dumb, but its still better than the inexplicably stupid BC Ferries advertisement they used to have under the scoreboard.

why are those things dumb and stupid? seems like a pretty obvious way to recoup some costs, putting unobtrusive paid advertising on the thing in your building that has thousands of eyeballs pointed at it constantly.

“One of my biggest regrets in leaving Vancouver is not being able to win for them. I wanted to win, wanted to bring a Stanley Cup to Vancouver. And I couldn't get it done. That's probably my biggest non-accomplishment as a captain. But I think Quinn’s got all the qualities to help turn that team around. If there's one guy that's going to lead the way on that team, it's Quinn Hughes.”

It's evolution is team sports, a form of tribalism, safer battles than wars to wage against each other.

You know, not all fighters are the insults you use...meatheads, chimps.

Just like, not all none fighters are ...pansies, wussies.

I am sure you can make your points without using insults.

However, in my opinion, being compared to chimps isn't a reduction to me. We are just naked apes ourselves. Evil, hating, smart apes, that are filled with conflict and are killing the planet we walk on. We should hope we could be as gentle as those chimps.

I suppose you are against body checks too? legal bodychecks are the leading cause of concussions.

I have seen body checks break backs, necks, legs, you name it...they even end careers.

calling someone a chimp is only a reduction if you value humanity. it's a more complex discussion than I'm interested in getting into here.

No, you turn other heads into meat. Get it right.

Fighting is our oldest form of competition. It's very human.

It will one day be removed from nhl hockey but no need for you to be calling all pugilists names. But if you do, make sure you keep it to the internet for health reasons.

it's in fact the least human and most animal thing about us. it's simian. reducing ourselves to chimps.

Can appreciate that.   Meatheads like Grimson and Parros have law degrees.  Most enforcers, including Probert, were gentle giants.  Same with McGratton.  All they wanted, was to keep their mates safe.   From guys like MT and Matt Cooke.   Tochett was one of those guys too, except he had mad skills too (sure ventilated Martin Broduer and others).   Wouldn't worry, in 20 years you probably will look back and understand.   In 10 years all fighting will be banned, and our uniforms will be covered in adds.   And you too, will miss the "good old days" with Myers and Luke Schenn, who 20 years ago weren't even average joes physically.

I don't care if you're a Mensa member, if your job is punching people in the face and being punched in the face yourself, you're a meathead.

They are not playing tiddlywinks or marbles though tas. They are getting paid $7,000,000 a year to contest a game in the best/toughest men’s hockey league on the planet. Act like pros, not kids playing road hockey.

we shouldn't be encouraging pro athletes to bash each other's brains outs. the q finally got smart and banned fighting, the rest of the leagues won't be far behind.

I've punched my best friends in the face for less.    And of had the same back.  This isn't a children's game, it's a sport.  And when I'm playing a sport, that's part of it.   Boxing, martial arts it's just fine.  Hockey isn't badminton or golf.

stick and ball sports are children's games and as a society we shouldn't be encouraging mindless meatheadism.
