So you think they're going to spend time and resources on a 19 year old who is only going to be there for one year?  Why would they?  Most likely he'll spend the bulk of the year in the press box.  The SHL isn't a development league like the A is.

this is an asinine argument. no team goes against their own interests to spite a prospect who's moving on. did petey get stapled to the bench in his last year before coming over? I seem to remember it differently...

So they do this everyday Tas?

or is it just some kind of team building event once a year?

Do all NHL players do it ?

Did Byfuglien,  or any other player in the NHL do it?

or is it just some kind of fan fare rallying cry?

How does it work if you come from a foreign country ?

    is it well known?

Show me stats and abstracts please :)

they need to be able to do it is the point.

Speaking of ownership I heard today that Ryan Reynolds is prepping an offer to buy the Sens.

Not gonna lie since he is a BC boy I would have liked to see him try for Vancouver instead even if more expensive.

Saddledome? If so I wonder if they sell it out? I was there to watch a pro lacrosse game and there was 12,000 there. Been to lots of Flamer/Canuck games and it was always sold out. Great atmosphere.

yep, at the dome. the previous abby game I went to in calgary was very empty, just a month or 2 ago. $30 for front row, resting my feet on the boards at the blueline. looking at tickets now, there's not much left at all. I'm guessing since the flames shit the bed it drove up demand for wranglers tickets.

Woo reminds me a lot of Bieksa. Took Bieksa some years in college followed by some time on the farm before he emerged.

I like woo's game from the couple games I've seen live. I wasn't especially high on him before and I'm always a guy who keeps expectations reasonable, but he has a chance.

juice's truly separating skill, though, was his confidence. that's what always carried him far more than his skillset and talent ever could.

Patrick sharp was an excellent skater. Extremely High IQ player with great hands that also had the skillset to play centre.  The guy played for team canada at the highest level.  Boeser is nothing like sharp.

Look, hes a decent guy, but Ppl on this board are extremely delusional when it comes to boeser.

boeser is a lock for team USA in any best on best tournament.

lol.  Wasn't there a story about Jim Benning hadn't even visited Utica for an entire season?  Drafting horse whisperer where really nobody outside of goalies developed on our farm during his entire time as GM (goalie development wasn't really an issue for the Canucks since going back to the Nonis days)

yeah, I think there might have been too much bird dog in ol' benji. the guy is an amateur scout at heart -- he's 3rd generation for chrissakes -- and it's like any other obsessive collector or hobbyist, he's just hyper focused on that task. finding the kids was his passion; he was less interested in what happened afterwards.

unfortunately for him and for us, running a hockey team isn't like collecting pokemon cards.

    Is Hoglander our top prospect?

He skipped being a prospect initially. But he’s got more upside than anyone in our system.

the nice thing is that we can actually ponder that because this organization is going back to overcooking its prospects and making the NHL roster a lot more challenging to graduate to.

there are a lot of kids on this team that have a lot of promise and deserve to get a look, but allvin and tocchet aren't going to make it easy for them to get. no more development in the big leagues.

They should have the top PP in the league with Hughes at point with 76 points as a d-man, Kuzmenko 40 goal scorer, Pettersson 104 point center, Miller 80 point center and 30 goal scorer and Hronek another 40 point Dman or someone like Garland or Beauvillier. He kept putting Boeser out there and relegated Kuzy to 2nd PP even after Kuzy proved he belonged on 1st PP unit. Just very dumb decisions and the PP was always stationary. The last few games was even worst since he had Boeser and Digeseuppe on the 1st PP unit. Completely idiotic decisions by him.

you're right, they should be better than edmonton's 3 100+ point player powerplay.

A team that goes 3 for 4 one night against a bad team and then 0 for 6 the next night barely generating a shot is not a top powerplay.

Consistency is key and they are not consistent. They’re the streakiest powerplay unit in the league.

yeah, you're describing a bottom 10 team. the powerplay is the least of their worries.

the fact that king achieved what he did with a completely broken team and no threat from the point is pretty damn good. I'm fine with him being fired because there were too many cooks in the kitchen, but he was by no means a problem or an area that needed particular improvement (compared to the whole).

  11. 1 hour ago, DeNiro said:

Been calling for this for awhile. We have too much talent to have our powerplay let us down so often. They need a new voice because clearly King was not able to get them to a level of consistency.

New hire coming or just have current coaches take that role you think?

a bottom 10 team with a top 10 pp isn't being let down by their pp.

I only really like IMac tbh

it's because he's the only one left who is an actual journalist instead of just some moron on twitter who yells real loud.

I can only imagine the ulcer a guy like imac must have from being forced to call the wretched, undeserving cretins he's surrounded by "colleagues".

Meh...I think most fans follow and support pundits who we agree with, and dis on those we disagree with.  We can even not like them, then like them, then not like them again. etc..  Like I agree  with this concern he raised.  No reason to play Hughes near the top of the ice time leaders of the league. Or give other top players so much ice time vs. development of younger players.

But I disgreed with his whining about not suddenly initiating a full rebuild when we were already smack dab in the middle of a retool. A rebuild made sense in Bennings era, where once again I agreed with his criticisms of Benning's disastrous beating of a dead orca over and over. But Drance is an idiot if he thinks its even plausible to strip everything down after last Summer's acquisitions. Now with Hronek, its a retool or bust. Accept it and move on.

I don't care about his opinions regardless. I hate him for his approach and his attitude.

he hasn't earned the right to have his opinion published is the biggest problem.

    I honestly can’t stand Drance.

only his take exists. He has extremely pessimistic takes, he uses negative language and tone.

when it comes to marketplace culture he’s a culture killer not builder.

i can’t listen to him speak anymore.

he wouldn’t even acknowledge the importance of Demko’s mental rehab and return from injury and how important it would be for him and our team for next season.

looking forward to the day he’s not a SN650 regular

he's part of the "new media" which means not learning the slightest thing about journalism and just striving for the edgiest take. every single thing he says is worthless, even if it ends up being right.
