They fired him the year before Edmonton drafts McDavid. Now they draft him the year Anaheim drafts Bedard. Crazy. He did his job in both cases to set up these teams for success by tanking for TWO generational talents...
Now we know who to hire when the next generational talent comes along

Before everyone gives up on Kravtsov, have to remember that some guys need a bit of time to develop mentally.
How many people were writing off Petey last year b/c of how his play was affected by his head space.
Raty struggled big for the first 10 games, then put up 8 points in his next 10 games once he got his head right.
Who knows if hes going to turn out, but he has put up big KHL numbers, so we know the skill level is there, and presumably thats where he was most comfortable.
Let him build some friendships, get mentored by his countryman Gonchar, and see where he's at in a year.
Some of us in our 30s have forgotten what we were like in our early 20s.
That may be true, but he's a 23 years old prospect, not a 20 years old, who apparently doesn't want to report to AHL. He's also RFA and who knows what he's looking for in terms of commitment. Let's not forget that the KHL is appealing for players of his age struggling to make it in the NHL. He will make more money over there.
So, I'm all up for being patient and all, but the players needs understand he's not ready for the NHL, and will have to earn his playing time and money down in the AHL. Which I'm not sure he'll be able to accept that from what I'm reading about him so far.

Demko and Silovs is a solid goaltending duo.
Isn't that what we said about Demko and Martin last year?
I mean, I'm glad Silovs is doing well and he's younger than Martin was, but I think we are getting a little of ourselves with him. Right now, the Canucks have no pressure, they are expected to lose and it's actually motivating to try and prove everybody wrong. But I honestly don't think Silovs will be with the Canucks next year, he will play, but won't be the backup after training camp. Canucks will most likely signs a veteran and lets Silovs get another full year in the AHL with a few stints here and there.
Any goalies (i.e. Hamburglar), young or old, can have super crazy hot streak, what differences the best from the rest is the consistency and that we cannot evaluate that from Silovs yet. I've seen posts here where Silovs is now our #1 prospect apparently, based on a good 1/2 AHL season and 4 games with the Canucks. That is crazy non-sense.

We made a trade and didn't give up a pick, that's a win in my book.

Done? Did they even show up for work?

Is Greenway the "player" Canucks didn't want in another trade? Does this paves the way for Boeser to minny now?

Could be an interesting pickup for Buffalo. He should get a shot a getting back on track.

If we kidnap @-Vintage Canuck- for 3 hrs, does that automatically extend the deadline?

And the Canucks have missed how many the playoffs lately?
Exactly, whatever the Canucks are doing is not better/worst than the Wings
Stacking Picks doesn’t guarantee a successful rebuild, Oilers (beside an Jesus), Sabres, Arizona have proven that

Nah, I have feeling they aren't done. Miller, Boeser, Garland, maybe even Demko (I'd be surprised, but Silovs has played well) likely being discussed.
Miller and Demko would both bring a 1st back for sure to get back the 1st they paid for Hronek. They are too tight on the cap, they pretty much need to move something out now.
By now, you mean since last summer?

hmm, didn't know he was still playing

Obviously if you're rebuilding you're going to miss the playoffs.
Obviously, if you're rebuilding "the right way", eventually you should start not missing the playoffs? Still waiting, that was my point.

Well yeah that's typically how a rebuild works, and usually after you are really bad for a while you wanna have a prospect pool in the top 5-10 in the league not the bottom 25-30.
Back to my original point, how many times did we see this with Arizona, Oilers, Columbus and Sabres? Oilers pulled out of the bottom for one reason only, they got lucky and got a McJesus.

Detroit approach seems to be producing a significantly stronger pool of assets / prospects. Wonder which will be more helpful when it's time to actually compete.
and yet still no results to show for in the standings and won't be better next year with the players they traded away

You're right, our approach of missing 7 of 8 years is better...Jesus people, just do a quick Google search before you post. The 1 year we made it we wouldn't have if not for the play in. The last 10 years we legitimately made the playoffs 1 time.
So our approach doesn't seems to work better or worst than theirs.

We can see the progress they've made, and they have a ton of draft picks to continue building.
Meanwhile the Canucks keep attempting short-sighted solutions that leave us in the same position year after year -- a struggling team with no cap space and no assets.
That's what everyone said about the Oilers and Sabres. One was saved by THE player of this generation and the other has the longest NHL playoffs drought. Not to mention Arizona.
Not saying what the Canucks are doing is the way to go, but tanking and getting a lot of draft picks does not guarantee success. IMO not missing with your 1st and prospect development is better than having tons of picks IMO. Its not like the Canucks are acquiring aging vets like we did not long ago.

They're ahead of us in the standings, yet still have the discipline to sell and collect assets to build a better future.
This is how it's done. If only the Canucks could see this.
And the Red Wings have missed how many times the playoffs lately? Oh yeah, 6 going on 7. I guess that's how it's done...
