  1. It is also because of Sportsnet in order to get Pacific viewers to watch most, if not all, of the Capitals-Oilers national game.
  2. There is nothing wrong with the odd late start. Some wish that Canucks home games from Sunday to Friday would start just after 1930h.
  3. Canadiens-Canucks TNT announcers are John Forslund and Bret Hedican https://pressroom.warnermedia.com/us...o-sunday-march
  4. The Habs-Canucks game is unfortunately not a national game in Canada, it is on Centre Ice and is a regional game on Sportsnet Pacific, TSN2, and RDS
  5. The game is on the secondary Sportsnet channel (SN Vancouver) until the Oilers game is done.
  6. Exp: A reminder for everyone that the Flames game will start on the SN Flames channel. This is similar to the Sportsnet Vancouver channel. This game is part of the Hometown Hockey doubleheader on Sportsnet. Those outside the Flames region (mainly BC, MB, and Yukon), the SN Flames channel should be available on most cable systems. Nationally, Bell and Shaw Direct satellite should have the channel too. Rogers might have it. Once the Rangers-Leafs game ends, SN West and Pacific will show the Flames game.
  7. I noticed that this link was not posted yet in this thread. It is excellent news for those living outside of the Canucks region (British Columbia and Yukon). https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/sportsnet-announces-2021-22-vancouver-canucks-broadcast-schedule/ Vancouver Canucks 40 national games and 42 regional games This is the most national games ever and is an increase of four national games from the 2019-2020 season. 15/15 Saturday games (most of them on the CBC) no morning or early matinee games. 9/11 Wednesday games, all the national games on the various Sportsnet channels and the two regional games on SN Pacific. 5/7 Monday games with the five games on the various Sportsnet regional channels and Sportnset One. The two regional games and will be on SN Pacific. The other eleven national games: They are on the other four days of the week on the assorted Sportsnet channels including the other regional channels.
  8. Here is the full NBCSN schedule and it is impressive. There will be three quadruplet headers and three tripleheaders! https://nbcsportsgrouppressbox.com/2021/01/06/nbc-sports-announces-full-2020-21-nhl-regular-season-schedule/
  9. Vancouver Canucks 36 national games and 46 regional games This is an increase of two national games from last season. 20/21 Saturday games, 16 are HNIC games with most of them to be on the CBC. The other four are morning and matinee games and will be on Sportsnet. The one regional game, Canucks at Islanders, will be on Sportsnet Pacific. 5/10 Wednesday games, four on Sportsnet and one on SN360 and Sportsnet One.The five regional games will be on SN Pacific. 6/11 Sunday games with five games on Sportsnet and one on Sportnset One. The remaining five are regional games and will be on SN Pacific (three matinees and two evening games). The other five national games: two Tuesday games, one on SN1 and one on SN360 two Thursday games, one on SN1 and one on SN360 one Friday game on SN1

  11. The reason for the majority of October games being on Sportsnet One is because of the baseball playoffs. The baseball games are shown on the main Sportsnet channel.

  13. The secondary Sportsnet channels have the same reach as SN Pacific and East. The difference is that you need a digital box to get them. For those bilingual fans, the RDS commentary is nice to listen to. I switch halfway through each period between the two stations. American viewers can see this game on NHL Netwrok USA.
  14. The good news is that you have the choice of listening to the Blackhawks commentators tonight since this game is also on WGN. All cable and satellite companies in Canada carry this channel. American viewers will get the HNIC feed as it is on NHL Network USA.
  15. It is quite the reversal with Rick Ball and John Shorthouse. Ball being the primary radio caller with Shorthouse on television doing all 57 regional Sportsnet Pacific games. Shorthouse calls the game on radio tonight, while Ball is on national television.
  16. The odd time the 1900h Pacific game has a higher rating than the 1600h game. Overall, the earlier game does get higher ratings because of split telecasts. There are two or three games during that time involving the Habs, Leafs, and Senators. The game at 1900h only has had one game in that time period for the past nine years. There will be four split telecasts in the second half of the doubleheader for this season. ***I posted all the HNIC game totals for each team yesterday over on the general hockey discussion board. http://forum.canucks.com/topic/350507-national-tv-schedule-for-2013-2014-season/ All canadian teams have complained loudly about their lack of coverage or exposure on HNIC in comparison to the Leafs.
  17. I have the same feeling as you and that is reflected in my signature statement.
  18. I agree with Slegr on questionning how you say that there are five western teams vying for the 1900h, 7:00 pm start time. Prior to the Thrashers relocating to Winnipeg, the Canucks, Flames, and Oilers were the only three teams in western Canada. The Canadiens, Leafs, and Senators are the only three teams in eastern Canada vying for the 1600h, 4:00 pm start time. Having a team back in Winnipeg, which is in the Central timezone, makes it four teams wanting to play at 1600h. Biggins, the french CBC does not show the Habs or other NHL games and has not for about a decade. All Habs game in french are on RDS.
  19. The CBC made a terrible mistake by not televising the January 4, 2011 Canucks at Bruins game. This was the first game between these two teams since the Stanley Cup Finals and there was considerable hype prior to this game. Sportsnet broke a record for a regional game as the audience rating on SN Pacific was 747,000 and at its peak it surpassed a million viewers. Many morning or matinee HNIC games are around 500,000 viewers.
  20. The other real question is how few games the Canucks are getting because they are the second biggest english city in Canada. They only have one more game than the Jets. When you look back over 43 years of HNIC (since the Canucks came into the league), it does certainly look like the CBC is anti-west. It took 25 years to have regularly scheduled HNIC doubleheaders and to have western Canada to watch a game during primetime. The western teams pushed for the doubleheader concept when Oilers and Jets came into the league, followed by the relocation of the Flames a year later. The Canucks play the Flames and Oilers many times as well so they should have at least the same amount of HNIC games as the Senators.
  21. The reason it is called the OBC, TBC, or HNIT is that almost every Leafs game on HNIC is the national game which is ridiculous. The Canucks are the #1 market west of Toronto which get the best ratings for the games at 1900h Pacific. Vancouver is the second biggest english television market in Canada. The CBC can be interpreted as "Can't Broadcast Canucks." Since the Canucks entered the NHL, every season until the beginning of the 2010-2011 season, there were Saturday Canucks games that the CBC did not televise on HNIC. Those games could not be seen on local television. Since then, the Saturday games the CBC does not want to televise are now shown regionally on Sportsnet Pacific and are shown in the morning or early afternoon.
  22. There are zero Habs games on CBUFT, all of them are on RDS.
