Champions of Nothing

People have gotten in a lot of trouble legally for saying such things on the internet.

Does that make it any better of a thing to say? Not something cool to joke about.

My reasons go back 12 years. I pretty much started the trend. Also, just read back through the last few pages. LOL good stuff. NPF, that was low wishing Pollard to be a vegetable. Despite what you say, the guys gotta keep his head up. Different situation than a receiver after catching a pass. There is a reason you hear the phase "keep your head up" about 100 times at every youth football practice on every football field in North American. That was just stupid by him. Defenders going head first into tackles is an epidemic in the NFL if you ask me, but runners can protect themselves more with their head up. The responsibility is shared.

I don't have a horse in the race. There isn't any teams that I am really excited to see win. The only team that makes me really happy when the lose, no matter the year or situation, is the Patriots. I don't feel bad for one second when getting joy out of seeing that pouty lip on Brady's face.

Bellichek/Brady were just "lucky" (maybe lucky isn't the word... fortunate) that they found a counterpart that fit their own strengths and weaknesses so well. They are so much on the same page like few coach/QB combos ever get the chance to be. It tooks years to develop a relationship to the level that they have, which requires an incredible amount of success to allow a team to have the same coach and QB for that long to allow establishing such a relationship. I believe Drew Brees and Sean Payton are on their way to something similar, and I believe Payton Manning had something similar with his old OC Tom Moore. It's something that produces some real greatness. Walsh/Montana, Noll/Bradshaw, Landry/Stabauch.

LOL.... what? My point was that just because a guy is a good player, doesn't mean I'd take him on my team. I didn't make the Marchand comparison. I don't care how smart the guy is. He acts like an idiot. It's one thing to showboat and trash talk after you make a big play. Interesting stat: Brady QB rating against the Ravens in the playoffs: 52.9. In 2 games that's just 2 TD's and 5 INTs. I am a step behind in the playoff pick 'em pool, so I won't hesitate to pick the Ravens.

Brad Marchand is a pretty good hockey player too. Doesn't mean I would take him on my team, there is a fine line between agitator and clown, and these guys all tend to cross that line eventually.

It takes incredible skill to have the concentration to stay with a ball as you are falling and rolling. Or I guess every catch is luck because the receiver is lucky to have the ball within his vicinity to catch it.
