  1. He was never going to make the team out of camp because Larsen was penciled in to run our PP from the moment we traded for him(which is absurd for a KHL castaway). Even though Stecher outplayed him at every turn, it didn't matter. I know we'll probably see Troy sooner rather than later and he will be playing big minutes, but it bothers me that based off of his play and the fact that Linden specifically stated they will take the best 23 players no matter what, that they still sent him down. My prediction: Larsen will show incapable of handling 5 on 5 play in the regular season and put on waivers in a few months and Stecher is up with the big club like he deserves.

A lot of speculation that someone we haven't seen in a long time might make an appearance real soon...

The plot description for next episode states it's "an old foe" and we've already been shown Walder Frey in one of the trailers so I think it's safe to say it's him. But Benjen saving them would make sense

This episode was crazy though, a tonnnn of foreshadowing.

But seriously, how the hell are Meera and Bran gonna get out of this? They are all alone in ice zombie land.

The Night's King left his mark on Bran. The wall is said to have some sort of magic protection to keep the White Walkers out so I think it's probable that they let him escape and get over the wall so that the Walkers can finally bring it down and enter Westeros

Next wk, temps in the Arctic are expected to break May records. By Sept(annual seasonal-low) all ice is predicted to be shot. Would be a first, in humanity's time on this big rock. The lowest so far was in 2012, & the pace is about 3 wks ahead, this yr.

It's the planet's AC, & it's busted. You'd think MSM might want to spend a BIT more time considering the implications?

But no, pls dedicate more news space to some celeb with addiction-issues, or an insufferable sociopath aiming to be the head puppet...

As for city temps..anywhere, that is, any city. EXTREME swings are the new normal.

  5. I was never much of McGregor fan but I always respected the attention that he brought to the sport.

My respect and admiration has just skyrocketed after this move. I know a lot of butthurt fans and haters that were looking for absolutely any reason to jump on the guy have been having a field day. But what he did was truly remarkable. He was by far the most active fighter of any of their fighters in terms of doing promos and being available to media and it wasn't anywhere close. He has mentioned before that such obligations such as the obsurd UFC tour for the first Aldo fight was incredibly draining and he easily does 3-4 times as much promo for fights as any fighter let alone champ that the UFC has. He finally said enough is enough and asked for some time to focus on his craft and the ufc $&!# on him. The fight in question is 3 months in advanced, they want him to fly from iceland to Vegas on short notice to promote a fight that is three months down the road. With todays technology, get the guy on a conference call, he's inconvenienced his life for the last couple years just to satisfy the UFCs ever growing demands and he has finally realized that it is a detriment to not only his career, but his legacy. You give the UFC leeches an inch and they ask for a whole mile for you. He is waging a war that was started by GSP and echoed by Jones but he has more leverage than any of those fighters. He is standing up to a bully and turning down over 10 million dollars because he knows his legacy is on the line and he knows his employers is only trying to milk him dry. Kudos to Conor and &^@# the UFC leeches. There needs to be a union and that has been evident for forever in this sport, but it has come full circle and Conor is fighting for all fighters in the promotion.

I always root for the little guy against the conglomerates and McGregor deserves everyone's respect for what he's doing

  6. Can't see him not signing as any good agent and really, informed prospect, could see that the Canucks depth chart at G is really lacking. There aren't a lot of teams that are as weak as we are in terms of goalies in the pipeline (excluding Demko of course).

The delay in making a decision though is interesting, but maybe his degree is that important to him. He strikes me as a good kid , I think even if he does go back he will still sign. However , management would likely get pretty nervous and look to move him at the draft if he does in fact decide to to back.

panicking about this now accomplishes absolutely nothing

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — When the Vancouver Canucks took Burnsville’s Brock Boeser in the first round of the NHL Draft last June, they must have figured they’d be getting a good playericon1.png.

But even Boeser himself didn’t imagine the kind of freshman season he’s now having at North Dakota.

“I expected kind of a lot from me coming in,” Boeser said, “but I don’t know if I expected this much coming in.”

Boeser leads the National Collegiate Hockey Conference in points, with 25 goals and 26 assists in 38 games. He’s 4th in goals and 6th in points in the whole NCAA. He’s already secured his place in North Dakota’s storied hockey history, with more goals and assists than Jonathan Toews and TJ Oshie had as freshman.

He’s also just one goal shy of Zach Parise’s freshman total of 26, which is more than anybody has scored up there in 30 years.

“Joining them like that, it definitely means a lot to me,” Boeser said. “Because they’re NHL stars.”

He’s the top player on the top-ranked team in the country. As a freshman who only turned 19 last month. In a sport where the average age of a college player is 22.

And Boeser is soaking it all in.

“I think as the season grew and I started to do better as the year went on, the hype got a little bit more,” he said. “I mean, [the] Vancouver Canucks, their whole organization, their fan base, they’re big on watching their team and the future prospects.”

And he feels the support from back home too.

“The support around me has been tremendous,” Boeser said. “A lot of Burnsville people have come up to North Dakota and watched me play. And when we play in St. Cloud, the support there was tremendous.”

The only question now is where people will have to travelicon1.png to watch him next year.

“I’m just going to finish out the year here, hopefully win a national championship, and then we’ll see if I stay another year next year,” Boeser said, “or see what comes down to it and what’s best for me.”

For now, he’s just enjoying being a North Dakotan, and all the funicon1.png he’s having.

“It’s unbelievable,” he said. “You really can’t explain it.”

encouraging to hear that it's not set in stone in his mind that he's returning to ND. Would be awesome to see him in the AHL next year

If he's more concerned about his development than money, yes. If not, he'll likely be back in the KHL if he doesn't make the big club.

I think theres very little chance that he'd report to the AHL. Tryamkin stated last summer that he isnt in a rush to make the jump over to North America and would be open to resigning in the KHL. What we could do, and probably have to do, is something along the lines of what Chicago did with Panarin: offer a bonus laden entry level deal and an out clause that allows him to go back to the KHL for the rest of the season if he doesn't make the Canucks roster .

Who thinks Jake goes back to Calgary after the WJ's are done?

Would be the best route, IMO. However John Shannon reported a few games ago that he spoke to Benning and Benning stated that he will NOT be going back to Calgary.

I don't know how he didn't get a call on that OBVIOUS hook on his scoring chance. Man the zebras must still just hate the guy.

Yea , not to mention the early whistle on his would be goal.. You could see on his face how bad he wanted/needed that. Feel for the guy, but it took a tired piss poor buffalo team for him to be noticeable out there. Same could be said for most of our team though.. :(

    2 point game today

He's starting to rack up the points but it seems like his defensive game is suffering, either that or there goaltending/defence isn't that good

Second worst team in the league and sporting a -24 goal differential :P

I've watched like 80% of his games so far this season.

He is a great prospect. Probably our best prospect with both McCann and Virtanen graduating,

Better player than even Virtanen, imo

as for not killing penalties... Hes still a freshman and only a few months removed from highschool so hes quite raw. If he makes it to his junior/senior year without being signed he will be getting pk shifts, no doubt
