I like this, gives Hart a solid backup to alleviate pressure

Wonder about the hit here. Thinking 3.25

Interesting deal for suter! He still gets term for a good deal.
He can be solid as a 2nd pairing, pk specialist

yes.
He is the solution for their thrid line. I guess he is going to play as 3C on the Oilers team. Great pick up for the Oilers.
I'm not sure how the oilers forward lines will end up, but they do have some options now. They still need to upgrade goaltending, but maybe that's next year...

I would have signed him to half a year.
Benning is garbage.
I wouldn't have even signed a goalie and just let the Zamboni driver play some games.

Good on faceoffs! Gives us options in the bottom 6. If this year goes sour, we might be able to trade him as cheap center depth.
I think people will love sutter now that he's on a solid deal.

WF is a great top-9 forward too! I hate the Oilers, but this is a solid trade for them.

Good deal for Edmonton. Bear was nothing special, and I think he's better suited to a 6/7 d-spot.

Wow... canes really dropped the ball

I wonder if he wants to be the 4C on a contender?
I hope not, I'd like to see him here

Alright Schmidt, we have two offers. One is from winnipeg an- "ill take the other one" and the other one is from Buffalo...

It depends, if a team was willing to do 4 firsts, I'd have to accept that offer. We cant win if he takes a mega deal like Toronto's stars.

5 year deal...
If he's 35+ now, doesn't that mean if he retires that the caps still have the cap hit each year?
-
5.5 per is my guess.
-
Im always worried about giving this kind of term to players who haven't played a single game with the team. I would have liked a 3 year deal or a cheaper 5 year deal, but it's not awful.

Schmidt will get traded 4 years from now and the source will be like, "see, i told you guys!"

The Jays have been a mess for years. The pitching has never been solved, and it seems there are always a few good pieces, but never a coherent lineup or vision.

If Martinez costs 5m, that eats up their remaining cap space, with 20 players under contract.
Fleury or Smith likely on the way out.
Smith?

Watch us trade the pick
It's possible. We could trade down for multiple picks, especially if our guy is gone.

I'm happy with this lol.

I think this is a win for the Kings!

Joe Sakic looking more and more like Shooter McGavin...

Probably thought they could be sneaky and get the extra pick and Wallstedt.
Easy to say that backfired.
Holland needs Nill.
Boston could use a young goalie too, and i think Minnesota knew it too
[Signing] Canucks sign Tucker Poolman

I'm not a fan of Poolman, and really wish it was a 2 year deal. 4 years is a lot to commit to a bottom pairing dman we haven't seen yet.
This also brings us back to being defensive while struggling to transition the puck.
