  1. Seems like the NFL are way ahead of the NHL when it comes to communicating with their members. They need to get their stuff together quickly. Pre-season hockey is supposed to start in like 2 months. I mean obviously we know that isn't going to happen, but they need to let fans know their plans.

I personally can't see them doing hockey in the summer. I think their current plan is going to be a shortened season like the lockout year. Basically 41 games starting in January, the normal playoffs. Then hopefully the season returns to normal in Fall 2021.

  2. Some of the NFL teams are starting to announce that they are cancelling all season tickets and deferring them to 2021. The Baltimore Ravens announced that their capacity will be reduced from 62,000 tickets a game to less than 14,000 a game.

2020 RAVENS SEASON TICKETS TO BE DEFERRED

INDIVIDUAL TICKETS TO BE MADE AVAILABLE ONCE NEW

SEATING MANIFEST IS SET WITH UPDATED CAPACITY

We thank you for the incredible patience and support you have shown our organization over the last four months, as we’ve all continued to adjust to the difficult effects the COVID-19 pandemic has had on everyday life.

With much hope, we have been preparing for a 2020 season that will allow us the opportunity to play in front of fans at M&T Bank Stadium. However, if we are permitted under state and local government rules/regulations to have fans attend our games, it has become clear that a significantly reduced seating capacity is necessary.

Based on the social distancing guidelines and fan safety protocols developed by health experts, governmental officials and the NFL, we expect that the capacity – if fans are allowed – would be fewer than 14,000 seats per game.

Even if it is legally permissible to attend games this season, we also recognize that some PSL holders might feel uncomfortable doing so. For these reasons – and because of the unique circumstances currently surrounding each NFL community – we are taking the following actions that will impact all ticket purchasers in 2020:

    • Final season ticket payments due on July 15 are no longer required. Remaining payment plan charges will not be made.
    • Season tickets for 2020 will be deferred to 2021.
    • All 2020 season ticket seat locations will be protected, and the same seats will be offered for renewal in 2021.
    • Credits for funds paid toward the 2020 season to date will be applied to accounts and can be used toward renewal for next season or toward future ticket purchases, or a refund can be requested.
    • Current 2020 single-game ticket sales will be discontinued, and refunds will be issued to fans who have already made purchases.

With over 62,000 season tickets already sold, there is no equitable way to accommodate in a limited stadium capacity all PSL Owners who are interested in maintaining season tickets for 2020.

Once an updated seating manifest is finalized, 2020 individual game ticket sales will resume, with PSL Owners receiving a priority opportunity to purchase in advance of any public sale. More single-game ticket information, including an on-sale date, will be made available at a later time.

  3. I also got the renewal email tonight. I want to stay a member for now, but I don't want to put 5% down. I guess I might renew 1 ticket and then I can always add more back later on. Or just not renew and tell my rep I will pay when they announce a schedule and a season. I am glad they are offering fully refundable payments but it still ties up money and loses interest for god knows how long. I assume if you ask for a refund your account is instantly terminated.

Anyone else still waiting for their refund?

They said 4-6 weeks from the day you request it, and the deadline was June 3. So assuming someone submitted it on the last day (June 3) then they might still be waiting.

I requested my refund on May 13 and I got an e-mail from them on June 16 saying it was being processed and it was in my account on June 18. So about 5 weeks

If it has been 6+ weeks and you haven't heard anything then I would phone them.

Several NFL teams (Including my Buffalo Bills but also NY Jets, NY Giants, New England, etc.) are offering their season ticket holders the option of skipping the 2020 season and still keep their seniority AND THEIR SEATS for the 2021 season. It would be awesome if the Canucks offer the same thing.

I think the main reason they are doing this is probably due to social distancing. They are likely going to have to limit the arenas to 50% full anyways, so basically they are looking for STH's who are willing to volunteer to give up their tickets.

  6. Sorry, but reused rain water to make the ice? That is ridiculous. Amazon is the worst offender. They ship out tiny items in huge massive cardboard boxes. They sell bottled water and plastic bags and anything you want. Anyone with a brain can tell that this is just a marketing campaign to try and convince people that Amazon isn't the devil.

    https://www.utilitydive.com/news/amazon-2b-climate-pledge-draws-praise-skepticism-as-total-carbon-footprin/580424/

"It's very hard to trust Amazon because they're not a transparent corporation and it's unclear what, who is going to benefit from this and whether it would actually be truly an environmentally sound approach," Larsen told Utility Dive.

For instance, Larsen said, Amazon does not participate in the Carbon Disclosure Project, disclosing its own carbon emissions instead of reporting its footprint by CDP's standards, which enables benchmarking across other competitors. Amazon said it's using a third-party, APEX, to verify its greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2019, Amazon's operations led to the equivalent of carbon dioxide emissions from 13 coal burning power plants running for a year.

Me and a lot of my friends are boomers and are not offended (I asked a few of them)....boomer is short for baby boomer, no biggie. Also, a couple of my friends named Karen aren't offended either, they think it's funny. People are so easily offended today....it's called 'pussification'. Ya gotta be able to laugh at yourself. The 'Karen' in my family growing up was a 'Hank' or 'Wilbur' , e.g. Don't be a Hank ! or what a Wilbur !

So it's okay if I reply to this post with:

ZzZZzzZZ okay boomer, take a chill pill before you have a heart attack! Maybe go and feed some ducks okay boomer?

It's comments like that I see all over the place which are immature and clearly insulting. No one is using "boomer" in the same way you describe (like hank or wilbur).

The millennials probably wouldn't like it if they got a nick name, like "Lennys" (millennyal).

"I saw a lenny throwing a fit today at the grocery store. I guess they ran out of avacado toast! Poor little lenny maybe he can go cry about it on snapchat"

Again not really helpful for bridging generations and it has nothing to do with being "thick skinned". And by the way, saying people are "so easy offended today" is about the most "boomer" thing you say and would result in an "okay boomer" (rolleyes, laugh) from most kids.

  8. I think the term Karen is pretty juvenile and stereotypical. I would hate to be a white woman with the name Karen, yet I am sure there are many lovely Karen's out there. So many other ways to go but it seems like society needs a #hashtag for everything. Muddles the point and makes me not care. Sort of the same with #boomers. Why insult people? #blacklivesmatter makes way more sense... RAISE your people up, instead of insulting other people and dragging others down. Using slurs like "Karen" and "Boomer" will do nothing for your cause and will actually further empower those you are insulting and give them motivation to vote for Trump in November just out of spite.

I got an email from StubHub saying that a previous transaction was cancelled. My tickets had transferred to the buyer but the payment hadn't transferred to me. I'm hoping that the Canucks factor this into my refund. This might actually be the reason for the delay in refunding STM. Had to wait for StubHub to rule on purchases before they could determine what they owed individual STMs.

The Canucks are going to refund all tickets to STM's, even transfered ones.  It is then your responsibility to refund stubhub and then stubhub will refund (aka give the buyer a "coupon") ... how nice of them. Imagine if stubhub goes bankrupt with all these 120% coupons owing, how bad that would be and how angry people would be.

  10. The 4-6 weeks wait-time for a refund is a bit cheeky, but I won't complain too much. I guess they are not going to start processing the refunds until June.

I wonder what this means for the sales on stubhub? I haven't heard from stubhub yet. I wonder if in their eyes the NHL season isn't officially canceled yet. But since the Canucks are refunding/crediting ticket holders then I would imagine other places should do it too.

I had an idea the other day... if the Canucks are truly going to play in empty arenas, then this is the perfect time for them to implement 4k video via a paid subscription service. I would happily pay $20 a month just to watch all NHL games in 4k. In my opinion all games should be in 4k, it's time. Would be a good way for them to make some money back too. I also wonder if they could mount virtual reality sets to seats and let people watch games live in VR from prime seating areas.

    Same question here....

Everything I have seen so far has given me the indication that at this point no one is "locked in" to any type of renewal.

Did you guys get the same email offering you a full refund?
