I just need a portable device for maybe a few hours of play a week.  probably best to get a Vista or something but Zelda sounds fun.

    Zelda is pretty awesome.

You could get a Playstation Vita or a Nintendo 3DS. I have a 3DS and there's a lot of great games on there, and probably the Vita as well. I don't have a Vita, but I know there's some great stuff on there. Plus you could always add an emulator onto it like you could with the PSP, and play NES, SNES, etc etc games.

  2. Horizon: Zero Dawn really is fantastic. I would probably get bored of the open world if the story wasn't so good. Not that the open world is bad, it's just I've been open world fatigued a lot lately. Too many open world games...

Robot dinosaur takedowns are also crazy fun. Thunderjaws and Sawtooths, damn son.

Also, the voice actress for the main character (Aloy) is voiced by the girl who did Chloe in Life Is Strange. It's literally all I think about every time she talks.

  3. Yeah, GSP's got a winning formula, so why wouldn't he stick to it? It's really interesting to watch how he just mauls guys on the mat.

Before he was the champion, he was a lot more loose and risky, but he settled his game down once he got the belt to take less risks. It makes sense when you want to stay the champion.

Not a knock on For Honor as it is a fun unique game, but it isn't even the best reviewed game to launch in February. Nioh has received much more praise. On Steam For Honor is sitting at a 6/10.

I said Horizon: Zero Dawn when talking about best of 2017, not For Honor. Not at all For Honor, lol. For Honor is good, but not nearly a AAA title.

For Honour has been pretty sweet so far

Yeah, man. I've been playing it quite a bit. It's a damn fun game, and even more so in a party with friends.

Also, going to be picking up Horizon on Tuesday. Damn, all the impressions of that game have blown people away. People are saying possibly best of 2017 and it's only February.

Pretty sure Truck was talking about the many, many complaints on CDC after the trade. A lot of posters apparently felt Shink had elite potential and Granny was a waste of bench space. It was a staple of the JB haters' platforms for a while.

Yeah. A lot of CDC thought Shinky reminded them of Patrick Kane, and that was his ceiling. A little much asking that of Hunter Shinkaruk.

I mean, I was excited to see what he can do too, but to immediately think he might turn into a Patrick Kane one day is a little crazy.

  7. I kind of hope that if Burrows-Horvat-Hansen isn't producing much next game, that Willie throws Boucher in there for a shift or two. Just to see what Boucher's shot can do alongide Horvat's level of play.

Maybe Skille-Chaput-Boucher generate something too, but I think Boucher would be better off having a guy like Horvat set him up with some room to shoot.

Either way though, I hope Boucher has a good game. We kind of need players to make impacts right now, and on this road trip would be the perfect time for him to try and solidify a spot on an NHL roster.

The gameplay itself isn't bad at all, It's rewarding, you feel your strikes - and(Once you have a sense of the Stamina Meter) Dodging in and out of combat is a blast - the 4 on 4 mode is really neat, you get 3 points, one on each side, and the a Battlefield Lane loaded with enemy foot soldiers to slaughter your way through,It made me feel  kind of like I was back at Helm's deep ripping through hoardes of Orcs with Aragorn at moments, you basically have 2 different modes - a "Lock/Duel Mode" Where you move your mouse and click depending on which direction you want to block, or strike from, and are locked to one other player target - which can EASILY be rotated for some of those sweet, 2 on 1 Bad ass moments( https://twitter.com/DgCNewbyCake/status/826116080145948672/video/1  - Not my vid ) - and a free mode, which lets you run, and free strike, and is usually used to whipe out minions with big AOE attacks, or lots of single attacks, again, you feel like a badass straight out of the LOTR movies at times. - if LOTR doesn't work for your, pick a fandom with Heroes Slaying multiple enemies, lol.

The one major ingame gameplay issue I had, was the balance of, believe or not - ladders, it was WAY too easy to literally troll the other team by running to a ladder and sliding down on their heads knocking them to their death, or waiting for them to come down from the top and just smacking them off to their deaths, stupid bug, can easily be fixed with time I would imagine.

It IS a very fun game, I just worry it will suffer the same fate as Hitman. - which I ended up buying and loving for a discount

If they Drop the player based servers and the singleplayer campaign lives up to the hype, They've got a very strong title and Franchise to build upon. That being said, I still don't expect it'll get anything better than a "Mixed" review on Steam based on the DRM issues and Always online problem.

That's the kind of $&!# that gets me hype! Lol I used to love playing the old LOTR games on PS2 back in the day, like The Two Towers I think was my favourite.

I think the next Beta for For Honor is out soon, so maybe I'll try that.

The player based servers, rubber banding,  Random dc's both in and out of game, and having to remigrate to a new host was not a small Issue, and not something we should have to deal with in 2017.

Ubisoft should know better, and as for the online DRM, it's just a massive pain in the ass for PC users.

That being said, it isn't awful, but the things that are wrong with tremendously cripple the games launch on PC, it is. A huge deal to that part of the community.  For console users, itd probably be a pretty fun romp, I still question the 80 dollar price tag

Ah, alright. I was just wondering from like a gameplay standpoint, what your thoughts were. I get that those things affect the gameplay in a way, but I was curious how the real product was, before all that dumbass connectivity stuff that Ubisoft loves to do.

Since, it sounds like a pretty fun time before that gets thrown into the mix.

So, I was lucky enough to be invited to play the For Honor Closed beta, and after a few hours with it, I'm not overly impressed.

    Image result for honor

The gameplay itself is a slower, more tactical version of Chivalry Medieval Warfare(http://store.steampowered.com/app/219640/?snr=1_5_9__300) and that part of the game is fine, with time and balancing the issues I see there will likely be fixed and straightened out

The Graphics are extremely well optimized considering the amount of $&!# that is going on on screen, Combat is satisfying and fun, and each of the different 9 classes feels unique in their playstyle

Customizing your Hero is fantastic, from creating an emblem, adding tattoos, changing different pieces of armors appearance, the customization is quite nice, unlocking new patterns, emblems, engravings etc. the more you play a Character.

    The music and sounds are also quite good, the game looks and sounds like an AAA title should, the combat feels great, and there is a good sense of a battlefield in 4v4 Dominion mode;

There is also a map conquest style game going on on the Main menu, similar to Mortal Kombat X's faction wars, the more you fight for your faction the more points/territories you acquire and the more bonus rewards you end up with.

I found this game most fun played in 1v1 duels, as it allows for the most showing of a player's mastery of a character, and teaches the combat mechanics the fastest, and when you come across an opponent who is at your level, you truly gain a sense of respect for the other persons skill with a character.

I've spent most of my time playing with the Viking classes, Specifically the Raider and Warlord and love'em.

Servers are played based, meaning lag and rubber-banding and finding a new host are very common things, and it really ruins the gameplay flow.

The main problem with this game is the same as the Newest Hitman Game from Ubisoft; Everything requires you to be online and connected to Ubisoft's servers, which means this game is shooting itself in the foot before it even gets out of the starting gate, no matter how good it actually is, it will NOT be well received on PC because of this.

    Without Online DRM 8/10

    With Online DRM 5/10

Keep in mind, this is for the multiplayer content only, That being said, to play any of the singleplayer stuff you'll still have to deal with the always online DRM BS anyways, so.. meh.

So what are the real bad things about the game? You say you're not overly impressed, but you name off a bunch of things you liked, and the only flaw you really named was always online.

  11. I think the lifespan of consoles being sold alongside gaming PCs is solely dependent on the developers. If big game companies like Naughty Dog, etc, keep holding onto their exclusivity with Playstation, then consoles will be around a long time before they die.

  12. Man, 209 is going to be lit.

    Khabib vs Tony

    Wonderboy/Woodley II.

    Overeem/Hunt

    Damn, son.

As much of a destroyer Khabib is and I like him, I want Tony to win that fight. Been a fan of his since his TUF days. Also want Wonderboy to win, but I don't mind Woodley at all. If he keeps KOing guys then I'm okay with that.

Overeem I've been a fan of for so long. His Pride days etc etc. I really hope he can make another run at the UFC belt, to cap off his career. I like Hunt too, but I'm just too much of an Overeem fan.

  13. I'm out in Pitt Meadows. Just drove to Tim Hortons and Safeway. Roads are pretty bad. I didn't see anyone stuck or anything, and my tires are fine so I had no trouble in my car.

I'm not driving to Burnaby tonight anymore though, just staying in. <_<

I haven't looked much into them, curious as to what dlc is available?

All DLC in Rocket League is cosmetic. Different ways to make your car look cooler, and also new cars.

There's nothing you pay for that makes you better than anyone else, which is awesome. All maps are free as well. They automatically get put into your rotation.

Cars like the Delorian from Back to the Future, and the Batmobile from Batman vs Superman you have to pay for. Only a couple bucks though.

That hockey varient is probably one of the best games I've ever played.

The whole idea and all of the varients in Rocket League end up being a lot more fun than people think.

Everyone's like....soccer with cars? $20? How good could it be?

I downloaded it way back when it came out on PS4 for free with PS Plus. I'm so glad it was a free PS Plus title, because it's been my favourite game from then up until now, and I've never played a game for this long without stopping or getting tired of it. I'm not sure I ever would have bitten and bought the game if I hadn't got it for free. Now I've bought all the DLCs and stuff too, so I give them money that way instead.

  16. Man, &^@# that noise.

Working nightshift, I left work at like 5am, drove from Burnaby to Pitt Meadows. The #1 and Mary Hill Bypass were &^@#ed. Nothing was plowed yet and I saw like 3 stuck cars. I thought I was going to get screwed too in my car, but I happily made it home. Not without a lot of worries though. At that time there's not a ton of cars on the road heading opposite the rush hour, so I didn't have a lot of tire marks to follow. That was not fun.

Be careful out there today, even if it's plowed now. I saw plows rolling out as I was getting home.

Think I'm going to pickup the last guardian, seems to be reviewed very well except for those review sites that are marking it down for the camera issues.

    Good review example:

    Bad review example:

I'll be picking it up 100% eventually. The only reason I don't already have it is because it came out so soon after Final Fantasy. I've been waiting for both of these games for so long. Shadow of the Colossus is basically my favourite game of all time. I don't expect The Last Guardian to be anywhere near the same kind of game, it's probably more like ICO, but I expect I'll really enjoy it.
