Hmm, trade deadline is in about a week.  Nice of the team to give him some time get his things sorted before the trade to Carolina for Kotkaniemi, Morrow and a 1st.

Yeah, seems kind of coincidental for sure. I think this is the way the Canucks keep him out of the lineup without announcing he is being held out as a possible trade. The injury would've been talked about prior to game day imo.

I'm saying if they'd waited and got some leverage, his price might have gone up and if LouLam went another path, perhaps that's the kind of deal they could have made for Bo to a team who was feeling under the gun

I'm happy with Raty and happy with the first, but I feel they could have played their hand a little better.

Also a good chance that we wouldn't have gotten what we got. You are speaking like it is fact we would've gotten more while that is absolutely not a guarantee.

  3. Will be interested to see what's going back!

And hopefully this makes Carolina make a bid for Miller, not that I really wanna see him gone but I'm sure the return would be nice.

I would necessarily say "improvements", he's just getting opportunity and he's, simply, too good for the AHL.........aside from hands.

They should have left Podz down there too

Hoglander was doing all of that stuff in the NHL as well.. His hands just need to catch up to him, and he'll be a good 2nd liner imo.

  5. I know everyone wants Bedard, and I would absolutely love that.. but it's highly unlikely, even if we were dead last.

Hell, I ran the sim 25 times yesterday, and Philadelphia won the lottery 9 times. We won it once, and Anaheim won in twice. Not great odds no matter where you end up, it's a lottery.

Plus, offense is not this teams problem at all. Defense is, so if we end up picking in the 5-10 range we might get a player who helps with that.

Why?  We can leverage our cap space better than using a retention spot for a 5th.

And giving up an asset, that would likely just be replaced by the 5th. The wild really just retained and didn't get anything of value.
