I think you may be misunderstanding the economics about the Pride Sweaters.

They were to be and have in the past been auctioned off with proceeds going to charities.

This was never about making money for the team or its owner/owners.

I know that they auction them off, but I am sure that they take a cut of the proceeds so that they don't lose any money. As well they do sell the jersey's in the store for $750(this is the Canucks, don't know about any other team), so it's definitely about making money.

I also addressed the proceeds topic in my post, there are other ways to donate to those charities that the team could easily do and that would end up being a lot more money towards those charities, but it would take out of their profit.

  2. Honestly, I think the NHL should just go away from all these jerseys, it is just a money making scheme. Have the nights where you support all these different groups, but don't have different jerseys for every single night just to put more money into the owners pockets, and that's all it is meant for.

I know people will say well proceeds go towards those groups from the sale of those jerseys. Well if the team truly supports the cause, then there are other ways to donate towards those groups that will likely earn a hell of a lot more money. Like a percentage of any concession sales goes to the proceeds, or a 1/4 of the 50/50.

The jerseys is just a way for the NHL and the owners to make more money, and it is getting out of hand. It's nearly every month if not more there is a special jersey for a special night.

Yeah, but because JR won't let any other teams talk to his agent, it makes me think they're going to work something out. Still over a month until the TDL, so there is time to switch gears (let other teams negotiate).

The Canucks core is not good. They can't stick with these same guys moving forward and expecting a better result. That would be insane.

    I agree with this 100%.

Either Horvat or Miller need to be traded. I would prefer Miller traded and Horvat kept just because Horvat is the better Center, but I don't see that happening.

If they're going to try and keep both then Garland and Boeser both need to be gone at the TDL and then you have Kuz-Petey and Miller-Horvat as your cornerstones for lines 1&2, but I don't think anything will change with the team if they try and do that.

IMO, there's no way Horvat comes back if he's traded. He feels he deserves more money than the Canucks are willing to offer. Bad feelings.

BUT, I just think they get something done and that will be that. Same stale core, same results moving forward. I hope they trade Bo, Canucks need to try something different. I'll be disappointed if they announce a Horvat re-signing.

Horvat was hard to sign even when he signed his current contract as an RFA. I think a lot of people forget that.

I don't see him signing before the TDL, and since we don't have the rights to him after July 1st, you can't keep him on the team. He has to be traded.

If you're the smartest guy in the room you're in the wrong room.

Tocchet even said during his interview yesterday that he's not the smartest guy in the room when he was referencing talking with the Sedins, and that he's going to learn things from them and others. I want my coach to not think he knows everything, that's a terrible leader.

People jumping on that are just looking for another reason to hate Allvin.

Im starting to tune the team out, kinda like I did during the Messier era.  Its hard watching a team we all love turn into a league laughing stock.

Management is a clown show - its awful how BB is being treated. Hung out to dry since day one of the season.

Yep, I'm in the same boat. Still watch the games when I can, and keep up to date on news, but I no longer make time to watch the games nor do I care if the team wins or loses anymore.

Who is worse in this game? Brady or the kicker?

I wish I could say Brady... But it's gotta be the kicker. He has a set a record for most missed PATs in a single game.

Maybe they’ll start going for 2 point converts instead of relying on that nervous nelly

    I hope so.

I guess I'm lucky, since my team has the best kicker of all time in Tucker. Never have to worry about PATs, and if within 50, it's pretty much a guarantee.

15 completions in a row for Prescott. A new Plowboy team record.
Turn out the lights the party’s over.

    That kicker tho.

I hope the party is over, love to see Brady fail...

But I'm nervous with how this kicker can't make a PAT. Leaving the door open.

And I don't know if I would be trying a field goal at any point in the game if I'm Dallas.
