  1. No he isn't.. Luongo is better than Miller and we basically gave up him because Lack was out playing him.. this will be a mistake, goalie controversy again and a waste of cap that should be going to GOALSCORING
  2. I actually think he has a better chance signing with the nucks at more $$$ than a "contender" can currently afford. 1. he has spent the last two seasons guessing who would win and been wrong on both counts.. his guess this year isn't going to be anymore likely to turn out. 2. Canucks can offer him more $ and he (along with other moves and the twins waking up) might turn them around making them a contender as unlikely as that might be 3. if he does't turn them around he can be given away to the contender that looks best at the deadline rather than the one he guesses in july if the nucks give him the promise to do that. The nucks can give more money and delay the choice as to which team is best until closer to the playoffs.. i think thats a better opportunity than guessing at the beginning of the year and taking less money so the team you guess can fit you.. if they can fit you at all.
  3. Ya i'm not so sure about that. It would be a lie to approach him by saying we are going to win the cup .. i'd approach him with $$$$ , the possibility that he and the twins could make magic and the promise if that doesn't happen that we will give him away to a team of his choosing at the deadline with salary retained so the other team can take him.
  4. I'd offer Iggy a nice payday to be in our lineup starting game 1 with the gentlemen's agreement that if its not working and the twins have not bounced back and the team isn't in playoff contention that he will be dealt to a contender on a sweetheart deal with cash retained if necessary.
  5. Nothing signifies building a championship team than filling it with ex panthers and sabres
  6. Actually no he wasn't always plan C.. there have always been many saying that Lack may end up better than Schneider, and most expected Schneids to go the trade deadline that Hodgson ended up going (which virtually no one expected) . Lack is ready to take the reigns now and is not going to improve playing longer under another big name goalie.. THAT will just be goalie controversy 3.0 guarantee it. Not to mention Markstrom and Eriksson won't want to be here either.
  7. Ya you'd hope a starting goalie might be ready by 32 Lack is ready now, he played fine last year, he's 26 and come up through the ranks the right way.. he's only going to keep getting better by playing more not less. Miller makes no sense for this team
  8. Lack is 26 hes not a kid and is ready.. we are going to do to him what was done to schneids. Goaltending was not our problem and if we are going to compete while retooling that 14 mil cap space would be far better spent overpaying a couple mercenary forwards that can score on short term deals. I'll call it now if miller is signed he won't have any better numbers than lack this coming season and will be a waste of cap space.
  9. Kesler is the best of the three players.. then we added Shinkaruk (a 1st rounder), Tanev (one of our better if not best YOUNG defensmen), and we throw in the 6th overall this year.. Thats a pretty crappy/uncertain return honestly.
  10. Having your secretary wash your car and cut your grass isn't illegal either... but its still a misuse of publicly paid employees... as is a drunk requiring his staff during office hours to use their publicly paid for time to go the the liquor store and buy the alcohol that the mayor will later drive drunk with rather than doing the cities business. just because ford is like 99% of other politicians (and i beg to differ) means we shouldn't care? And giving your drug dealer friends with no qualifications publicly paid positions that previously did not exist bloody well does have something to do with drugs and public money.
  11. There is evidence that he got staffers that were being paid with tax money to get him booze as part of their duties. There is evidence that a guy that was on his staff is his drug dealer. There is evidence that he gave his buddies previously non existent city positions for 6 figures. All paid for by public funds.
  12. Haven't been happy with some of Gillis's decisions the past couple years.... but now i worry more that they weren't really his decisions.. this firing and the legal letters to the media .. i think the owners are likely the problem here How could tortorella not also be fired after the letters the owner sent out
  13. and whats the common denominator between those meltdowns and this one... its not the coach and its not the goalies.
  14. I was a gillis supporter.. but he has not addressed this teams needs for the last 3 seasons. His player evaluation for trades is honestly horrible ie david booth. Booth was brought in to be that top 6 we have needed and he has failed/been unavailable every year he's been here but still no moves.. this team is playing with Hansen and higgins as second liners.. hell its playing with kesler as its best player.. where as contending teams were going to trade for him and have kesler playing 3c. Gillis is to blame because these issues have been here long enough to be addressed and hes done nothing. He is responsible for the personnel on the ice and that 2nd line is abysmal.
  15. we do not have the skill on this team to play that game. This team has been missing 1-2 top line offensive players for 3 years
  16. I feel bad for the management, coaches and fans of the team as they've learned over the last 4 months that the elder statesmen were not going to be pursuing a cup this year.
  17. "Hey kes the teams you want don't seem to be offering us what we need so i think we are just going to keep you in van for the next 2 years at 5 mill until you are 31 ok" Mike Gillis. If kes wants out, if kes wants a cup anytime soon, if kes wants the USA then he best be broadening his horizons.
  18. they said markstrom was a high 2nd pick.. not that there is a 2nd in the deal
  19. i didn't say we drafted dalpe santo and richardson with 1st round picks.. i said we've used 4/5 1st round picks to draft centers. which we now have 7 viable.. so its STUPID to trade the better center for a lesser center in a position you already have logjammed rather than get.. you know... a proven scoring winger which is the only area that this team has nothing
  20. The best pieces coming our way needs to be scoring wingers like simmonds. WE DO NOT NEED CENTERS we do not need defense. We've just spent the last 4/5 drafts using our 1st round pick on centers we have Guance, Horvat, Dalpe, Schroeder, Richardson, Santorelli, and Sedin. There is no sense trading Kesler for a lesser center. We currently have no top 6 wingers that can score any goals. That is the position we need to be improving trading for more centers is just creating an idiotic logjam and not solving this teams problems. It also says that our last 5 years of drafting in the first round was pointless.
  21. It has nothing to do with homer glasses.. we HAVE Guance horvat, schroeder, santo, dalpe, richardson etc in our system this team needs scoring and has for 3 seasons, and our best tradable asset is kesler (also our current leading scorer).. so if kesler is getting traded we best be getting scoring in return not a bottom 6 center, something that this team already has 6 of.
  22. we've just spent the last couple years drafting 3 line centers in gaunce and horvat, not to mention schroeder, santo, dalpe, richardson we DO NOT need 3rd line centers like sutter. If we are trading kes this year we are not making the playoffs other than by accident anyways so who cares about filling his roster spot this year.. let the centers we have play and hopefully show something maybe even raise their value
  23. no thanks.. we are giving up the two best players in that deal by a good margin both of whom aren't that old and both of whom are on steal contracts for multiple years to come
  24. Its important to him, its important to the organization.. what does it matter if its important to fans? Its not important to me but not starting your number 1 in a game you as an organization feel is important, after all that has gone on the last year and all the mending fences is just stupid unless you are going to FOR SURE be trading that guy. Again regardless of how well lack has been playing.. its not like lu has been bad this year just dumb for him to sit all through the olympics and then not even give him a game when he gets back.
