  1. Don't know how 9th overall (Couture) is underestimated
  2. Schroeder did play parts of last season as a winger - it did not go well. But, that may change when he has two NHL players (Booth and Kesler) rather than 2 AHL players.
  3. Not for the first 6. But for the last 6 - he has been leaps and bounds the best.

    Anton Rodin | RW/LW

I assume you mean Tatar. There was 59 picks before Tatar was selected; so basically every team had two chances to choose Tatar and didn't. Tatar has 1 NHL goal.... which is only one more then Rodin. We are talking about a player that is 21 years old, still has a year left in his ELC (after this year); and had battled a injured shoulder for the last 14 months. Even if Rodin turns into a Hansen type player; which is a 40 point player who can move anywhere in the line-up; then you really can't complain about that for a 2nd round pick

Rodin has been playing fine. As Avalanch said - Rodin should have a goal as well. Otherwise Rodin has been playing well and the bounces will start going his way.
  6. You need to be in control of your equipment.
  7. Could not agree more. That alone would make me consider spending the $800 on a new console. BUT given that will not happen... I will not consider buying the new system until 6-8 months (if not longer) into release, so that the price drops and the typical first run issues are over.
  8. Maybe Doug the Thug is Phaneuf fan?
  9. whaaaaaatttt. 67 points and 136 PIM --- sign me up!
  10. I going to assume you mean the 2005 WJHC. As this years is the 2013 WJHC.
  11. That's why I said highly unlikely. If you look at the roster of the Canada-Russia challenge during the summer - Huberdeau was the only lock (on Forward) to be in the NHL. I doubt that Strome and Schiefile would've been in the NHL. So that opens one, maybe two spots. But you got - Druin, Mackinnon, Lazar, Griffith, Wilson, St. Croix, Sissons, Mcneil also battling for those spots.
  12. Even then - it is highly unlikely. Too much talent even without the NHL players in the line-up.
  13. Jensen won't be there either Denmark was relegated after last year.
  14. You are a skier/boarder? (If so - we have to plan a day on the hills, rather then just a five minute meeting in the halls of the Abbotsford Events centre)
  15. Gotta disagree ---- January is the best --- multiple 30cm dumps overnight in Whistler
  16. If only I could find the the countless times I have said that on here.
  17. It's the way a 'big hit' should be.
  18. It's arguable. As Staton looks to lose his edge in an effort to stop and avoid the hit, which results in Kassian going 'on top' of him. But it's very clear... that Kassian aimed for the shoulder, and not the head.
  19. I am pretty sure I am going to buy 'Dishonored' Game looks right up my alley, and has been getting very good reviews.
  20. hmmmmm... a player with almost 200 games of pro experience and leading scorer of the American WJHC.... or a player who was a 5th round pick.
  21. I think part of the issue - is there have been players that the Canucks want in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd that fall to them (Schroeder, Gaunce, Rodin, Jensen and Mallet) --- so they haven't been able to take WHL players then. Then with the later picks - the Canucks have followed three mentalities - Draft older: Grenier, Hutton, Myron Draft Euro: Tommernes, Blomstrand, Westerholm Draft NCAA: Connauton, Lebate, Mcnally, Cannata. Then there is the usual - taking a flyer on players that may have 'slipped' in development-- Anthony, Friesen and Polasek This is done for multiple reasons - Older is because, you are closer to knowing what you are getting. Euro allows them to play against men, and can get a read; and finally NCAA, is due to allowing 4 years to sign the player, rather then 2. (please note - I have excluded Corrado.... because IMO... this is one of the best picks in years)
  22. I honestly cannot think of any other examples from around the league. But Gillis usually a little 'different' in his way. I think with McEneny - he is taking the low risk-high reward dice-roll here. McEneny could very well develop into a serviceable prospect, and the Canucks didn't want to take the chance and have him go in the draft. Since he is still 18, they will essentially get 5 years (due to 2 years of sliding) to make a full assesment
