  6. Busy morning in Minnesota, we are very excited to add Jordan, Steve and Otto to our hockey club. In adding Jordan we feel we have three great two way centers who can carry play and control games. Best of luck to Kevin, Simon and Andrew in Pittsburgh. Steve will step in and play behind and learn from a true pro in Niklas and help take his game to the next level
  7. Minnesota Wild capture 1st championship in franchise history Streets in Minneapolis were bumping this weekend as GM Otis led the Wild to the franchise’s first championship on Friday night. After four successful seasons but not so successful postseasons, the Wild pulled the trigger on a trade to move arguably the best player in the sim so far in Marian Gaborik and land Loui Eriksson, Jason Arnott, Matt Niskanen and two first round picks. The club then decided to buyout first center Peter Forsberg in order to clear room to land a top-6 winger in UFA. They did just that when reigning cup winner Johan Franzen signed a 3 year deal with the Wild. The new look forward group was very consistent all season, with the deadline acquisition of Nik Antropov gave the Wild nine 40 point forwards and a very balanced attack. That being said the obvious strong suit of the Wild was great goaltending and great defensive play. All three pairs contributed and Niklas Backstrom was dominant all season long, capturing his third consecutive Vezina and the conn smythe to go with it. Minny will have a new look next season as they will be unable to hang onto a number of their top forwards from last season, but with a returning defensive core and Niklas Backstrom the Wild will look to be competitive again.

  23. Been an exciting off-season in Minnesota after a heartbreaking game 7 loss to Vancouver in the 2nd round. We made a risky deal during the draft, moving arguably our 2nd best forward last season in exchange for Kevin Shattenkirk and Andrew Cogliano. This move was done to clear some cap in hopes to acquire a center upgrade in UFA. Day 1 of UFA was huge for Minnesota as we were able to require a legitimate running partner for Marian Gaborik in signing Peter Forsberg. This move gives us the best center depth we have had in years and help lessen the pressure on Marian. We were also able to add exciting youngster Mason Raymond to boost our top-9 forward group and PK, Mason will start on the 3rd line but could work his way up to the top-6. To finish it off we came to terms to bring back long time Wild defender Derek Morris on a 3 year contract to stabilize our D core. We will look to compete for 1st place in the west once again this year, Vancouver having lost Luongo will help out in this, and Calgary is terrible, we should be able to push for a division title at least. Opening night lineup: Pascal Dupuis - Peter Forsberg - Marian Gaborik Chris Kunitz - Mikko Koivu - Michael Ryder Mason Raymond - Andrew Cogliano - Lars Eller James Sheppard - Marty Reasoner - Colby Armstrong Brent Burns - Kim Johnsson Kevin Bieksa - Derek Morris Nick Schultz - Martin Skoula Niklas Backstrom Cristobal Huet
