  4. Tough to give up a great player in Alex but we are happy to add a great defensive prospect in Shattenkirk who we feel can step into a role for us in another season and provide good offensive punch. Cogliano will be a good fit for us in a bottom-6 role long term. This gives us some cap flexibility to target a center in ufa to play with Gaborik. thx umb for the smooth negotiations

  8. MVP - Marian Gaborik Top Scorer - Marian Gaborik Most Goals - Marian Gaborik Top Rookie - Lars Eller Unsung Hero - Pascal Dupuis Best Goaltender - Nik Backstrom Fan Favourite - Brent Burns
  9. Excited to bring in Kevin. We are now very confident in our top-4 defensive group heading into the post season. Kevin will bring some extra offense that we need from our backend. This will allow Nick Schultz into a 3rd pairing role and give us more options heading down the stretch. Thanks zfetch for the smooth negotiations
  10. pending trade call: Minnesota waives Bret Hedican and Robert Lang
  11. Assignment: Minnesota assigns James Sheppard to the minors. We are happy with James' contributions with the big club putting up 3 points in 9 games, we are excited to see him in a full time role next season.
  12. Minnesota Wild lineup Marian Gaborik- Michal Handzus- Alex Steen Chris Kunitz- Mikko Koivu- Bill Guerin Pascal Dupuis- Lars Eller - Michael Ryder Benoit Pouliot- Marty Reasoner- Colby Armstrong Brent Burns- Kim Johnsson Nick Schultz- Derek Morris Bret Hedican-Martin Skoula Niklas Backstrom Cristobal Huet Will likely be riding into the playoffs with this lineup, barring adding a depth defenseman, if anyone has a cheap upgrade on Hedican
  13. We are very excited to add Bill and Michal to our group. We believe that these are the kind of guys that can make a difference in the big moments. Michal will step in with with a familiar face in Marian Gaborik and rumor has it that there may be some late season experimenting of the two Slovaks linking up on a line together. Bill will provide some depth scoring on the win for us and help fill a hole on the top-9 winger group. We are excited to try to help Bill win a Stanley cup.
  14. Big GWG for Sheppard and big win against the canucks but then allowed 6 goals in 15 minutes against the Avs
  15. Claim Hedican waive Exelby if he clears
  16. Pouliot available for a decent young-ish defenseman
  17. Minnesota claims Brent Sopel off waivers.
  18. Minnesota Wild Season Preview After a very disappointing first round sweep in Minnesota following a conference final appearance, GM OTTS was unable to get much done this off-season other than have a horrible draft performance. Regardless, Minnesota finished with 117 points last season and should be competing for another division title this season. Minnesota is hoping to see a boost from upgrading the backup goalie position in bringing in Cristobal Huet late in the offseason, Josh Harding struggled in net last season behind Niklas Backstrom posting a sub .88sv%. We are hoping Cristobal can bring that closer to .9sv% and chip in a few extra wins. After having a very strong SHL playoffs, putting up 18 points in 13 games, it seems like Minnesota will be taking a chance and be starting off with young center Lars Eller on the 2nd line, for lack of many other options. That could change if Lars Eller struggles out of the gate, we are optimistic that he can contribute to the lineup as his defensive game we believe to be NHL ready so we will experiment with that early in the season. Projected lineup Michael Ryder - Mikko Koivu [A] - Marian Gaborik [C] Alex Steen - Lars Eller - PM Bouchard Benoit Pouliot - Eric Lindros - Pascal Dupuis Mark Parrish - Marty Reasoner - Joel Ward Robert Lang Brent Burns - Kim Johnsson[A] Nick Schultz - Derek Morris Garnet Exelby - Martin Skoula Niklas Backstrom Cristobal Huet
  19. Welcome to Cristobal, Garnet and Robert! Minnesota sends down Josh Harding.
  20. Minny takes Johan Motin
