  1. God help us all if that idiot gets hired. Can Aquilini get in touch with Scotty Bowman? We need someone of his caliber and winning pedigree if we want the cup.
  2. Just remember that a "change" could go either way. Remember our coaching "change"? I just hope they hire someone competent or we might've taken several steps back.
  3. If owners are listening to idiotic canucks fans, then we have much bigger problems.
  4. Can we hire Scotty Bowman as our GM and president? I remember he wanted full control of a club if he was hired but would he want to do it?
  5. Your friends might be idiots who don't watch hockey or follow the canucks.I don't see them as hockey experts like Scotty Bowman. You make it sound like your friends are experts on this topic.
  6. Raymond will seek at least 3 million, I doubt he settle for 2.5 million after the year he has had. Bolland will try to seeks 5 Million plus due to Clarkson the plug getting that much and Bolland is a better player. Even if they managed to sign all those players, do you think Leafs will make the playoffs next year with the same exact roster they had this year? lol Meanwhile, the Canucks can greatly improve their team by throwing money at Stastny and possible trades at the draft. They have cheaper goaltending, can buyout Booth for more cap flexibility and have improved players like Richardson and Kassian. Possible top prospect making the jump like Horvat and the Canucks can be a real tough team to play against next year, especially with healthy Sedins and Keser.
  7. maybe its best you cheer for the Leafs then, no? The Canucks are in a better position than the leafs, cap wise or roster wise.
  8. Too late, with only 3 games remaining, they can't move up or down much.
  9. Jason Garrison has really sucked. He seems bad or average on defense most nights and he just can't aim at the net with his hard shot. We need to get rid of him and get a better defenseman. If we get a replacement for Kesler, I wouldn't mind trading him for Maata and Pouliot of Pittsburgh. Maata is a top pairing D and can really help our defense which has looked very average this year.
  10. When you have Phagoof as your top defender, you will never win a cup.
  11. Its pretty funny, considering Canucks have easily beaten the Blues and Chicago weren't impressive in matches against us. There are teams that play a rough and tumble style of game and there are teams that play a skilled game. Which one do you think is the hardest to play against? Aside from St. Louis, most of the teams in that division aren't exactly known to play a physical game. In fact I believe our high number of injuries this year is due to the fact that we are facing some physical teams. When a 6'6 center like Hanzal is taking out 3 players on your team, it is a bit hard to make up for the losses.
  12. In terms of depth, skill and toughness, our division is the toughest. San Jose is the team with lots of depth while Anaheim has a plethora of skill and speed. LA is also a recent cup champion that plays a tough game. I don't see Chicago or Colorado matching these teams in the toughness/grit factor. Central does have some high skilled teams but our division has both the skills and the toughness. That is why we have endured lots of injuries.
  13. We've had injuries to multiple number of key players like H. Sedin, D. Sedin, Burrows, Edler, Santorelli, Tanev, Bieksa, Stanton, Luongo etc. So for the Canucks, these injuries and bad luck combined with being in the toughest NHL division is what caused us to probably miss the playoffs this year. Toronto has no excuse especially with their division. We have to go against Anaheim, San Jose and Los Angeles which are the top 5-10 teams in the NHL. I bet you this Canucks team will be much more improved next year with UFA signings and prospects coming in.
  14. This team is not as bad as the results show. We have been unlucky and had lots of injuries. IMO if we add one good UFA scoring forward like Paul Stastny and maybe a PPQB on the back end, we could come back to the playoffs next year. With Kassian, Jensen and Tanev improving along with possible additions of either Horvat/Shink/Gaunce plus a full year out of Santorelli, we could be in playoffs next year in a comfortable position. We just need luck with injuries on the front end and UFA additions. Buyout Booth and we will have enough cap space to do a major move this off season.
  15. Maybe you should cheer for another team with that attitude. You might live a little bit longer
  16. The thing I don't like is our PP. Our PP was never dead last in the NHL until this year. There is no way our PP can be this bad with Edler, Garrison, Hamhuis, Bieksa, Kesler and Sedins. That is not acceptable, especially if this team wants to be a playoff contender.
  17. Torts isn't getting all the blames but he is also responsible for the injuries that have accumulated and the fact that we can't score more than 1 goal unless we are playing Calgary. I mean we aren't a team full of AHLer's and we do have some scorers and some good NHL players. Torts rode the team hard at the beginning of the season when we were winning some games and we were in a playoff position. Now, we are getting to see the consequences.
  18. At first I thought Torts would actually be good for this team and we would even do something in the playoffs. I have slowly realized how wrong I was and the fact that we might not make the playoffs this year with a team that won the division last year make me think Torts is not the right fit for this team. The fact that iron man Henrik Sedin who went 8-9 seasons without any injuries until this year, speaks volumes of how our players are being utilized right now.
  19. You also forgot Gaunce. They just need to get Bjugsatd, Couturier and Neal up front.
  20. Kesler to Pittsburgh for James Neal Edler to Philly for Couturier and Read Sign UFA Callahan and buyout Booth and trade Hansen for picks. Mathias would have to battle Horvat for the 3rd C. Shinkaruk would probably still need to develop more, same with Gaunce. Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Neal-Couturier-Callahan Higgins-Mathias-Kassian Santorelli-Richardson-Read Corrado-Hamhuis Bieksa-Garrison Tanev-Stanton Lack Markstrom
  21. Difference is that Kesler isn't a rental player, he is locked for 2 more years. Plus, Kesler's Stanley cup final experience would trump the experience of whatever player they are trading. It would be an upgrade no matter what. Gillis and the Canucks are looking for a hockey deal, not a deadline deal since it is a different situation with Kesler.
  22. I say we trade Kesler to Florida and get Hubeardeu and Bjugstad. It would totally blind side both Philly and Pitts. Then trade Edler to Wings for Nyquist and Mantha.
  23. So the whole Philly team for Edler and Kesler...I only wish. If that was what Holmgren offered, the deal would've been done already.
