You're actually missing my point considering you responded to me first with arguments that don't apply to what I was saying.

That's not true, though. There are games where a given team benefits - sometimes substantially - from the calls. The Canucks certainly benefit from them more often than not contrary to all the crying people do on these forums.

Yet everyone around here acts like the officiating is harmful to the Canucks game-in and game-out.

If there was no "game management" and everything was called by the book, the Canucks would spend a lot more time on the penalty kill. The current iteration of our team gets away with A LOT.

I agree that the officiating in the 2011 finals was ludicrous, but CDC isn't a great source, and it has little to do with this incident.

i'm sure he gave nashville warnings earlier in the game after too many borderline plays that they give the benefit of the doubt to, eventually they're gonna call something. that's how officiating is done no big deal

The thing is: teams should have the depth to win games without relying so heavily on less than 1/10th of the total iced roster. Injuries happen to every team; good teams can manage losing a few guys.

So we're missing 2 good players... Big deal. Good teams have enough pieces to win games sans a couple of contributors.

I'm pretty pessimistic when it comes to prospects relative to most of the posters around these parts of the forum--don't understand, for example, why players like Lind and Gadjovich are being talked about at all at this point because their chances of having decent careers are slimmer than cheese slices. But Rathbone is legit. I don't see how anybody could realistically be cold on him.
