  1. I think you are making a quip here, not sure the reference
  2. Well, as someone who grew up there, it's not that great...
  3. I am glad they chose Arizona. I get the pros and cons for either of the proposed moves, but selfishly I like this choice.
  4. Imo what got Alberta in trouble was not investing in the proper refineries from the get go. Pipelines wouldn't be half the issue if the oil was cleaner.
  5. True. The dumbest part of all of it is the percentage is truly high of the amount of bc residents that come to Alberta to work. I don't get the need for animosity myself. I just don't see why everyone can't get their share.
  6. In ways I can agree with this. Imo the real problem hasn't been environment and more about sharing. Which if we were able to get more oil to market I don't see the problem in proper sharing.
  7. The problem is exactly that. But I'll admit it's a start. I honestly can't see it being financially friendly unless they can keep a good flow of product moving. Maybe the quantity can out weigh the money part.
  8. Maybe they need to start selling weed in BC
  9. Again pros and cons to each. I just hope they find a way to get it there so work goes back to normal. Has anyone invented warping yet?
  10. Tbh this is a great idea. As long as they can get enough of it to keep supply up enough for it to be worth it. Imo it doesn't matter how it gets there as long as it gets there. My biggest complaint is the oil has been an issue for how long and not one refinery exists over here? Ridiculous. This post reeks of ignorance not insulation. I'm sure when you say "BC" you mean "Vancouver". I'm going to assume you'd be quite amazed at the number of BC residents currently working with oil and gas industry.
  11. Interest in the tar sands has not diminished. Infact it is the total opposite. They building more projects up there. Edit: Also why does it seem like anyone not in Alberta thinks it is only the tar sands that exist out here?
  12. I just don't understand how anyone can let it get to a point where you have to pay to unload your goods. But hey at least Trump is happy.
  13. That's pretty much what's happening out here right now. Any American based oil companies are heading back south. Pace has slowed down to a small crawl. I mean sure I am slightly biased due to it directly affecting my life, but at the same time (while noting your last line was a tongue in cheek line) how anyone in Canada can consider this a win is mind blowing. Anytime an industry as big as this is the entire country will feel it. If people aren't making money how are we supposed to spend it?
  14. Invest what money? At this point there is none to invest with. If only there was a way Canada could capitalize on the oil prices while at the same time investing profits into greener variants... if only there was a way...
  15. Exactly. And until we find a way to get our oil to the open market Canada's economy will continue to lose hundreds of millions. If only mother nature paid so well.
  16. While perhaps more opinion still this story also kinda confirms what alot of us have been saying. https://globalnews.ca/news/4657720/b-c-researcher-argues-anti-alberta-oil-campaigns-about-protecting-u-s-interests-not-environment/amp/
  17. Not gonna lie, I was checking every 10 mins when the last game of the night started
