    Well I suppose Axel Andersson was not a sure thing for Team Sweden at the WJC's. No invite & I was of course hoping he would get one.

    But I'm perplexed Isac Lundstrom is not on their roster?

    Looks like we will have & congrats to these 6 Bruins at the tourney, Lauko likely to do the most damage;

    Jakub Lauko Czech

    Krystoff Hrabik Czech

    Rickard Hugg Sweden   >  Guess he stole Isac's centre position?

    Jacob Galvas Czech

    Filip Westerlund Sweden

    Martin Ferhervary Slovak

    Lundestrom wasn't on the roster because they weren't sure if he'd be released, not a talent issue. They left a spot open in camp in case he is

    A player chooses to sign with a team. A player does not choose to be traded. That’s the only difference.

    If RL Toronto traded Tavares (insert any FA), RL free agents would be less likely to sign there in the future, which is the punishment for sign and trades in this league. However RL players are not less likely to be traded to SJ, because they have no choice in the matter. Even if they think they will be moved again just like Hoffman.

    If the issue is the players not being treated well, how does it matter how they got to the team? I think it would be fair to be skeptical of a team flipping players whether its after signing or after getting traded there.

    To CBJ: Jacob Trouba ($1,050,000 retained) , Nick Foligno (50% retained, this year and next)

    To SJS: Liam Foudy, Devon Toews, Michael Amadio, Mathieu Perrault, Brett Ritchie, and 2020 ARZ 2nd

    To CHI: Jacob Trouba + Derick Brassard + Daniel Brickley + 2020 CBJ 2nd

    To CBJ: Craig Smith + Brandon Tanev + Mathieu Joseph

    So I get heat for trading away a guy after a month, how bad is flipping a high end player within a week?

    Adin Hill with the 5 saves on 5 shots (shutout?), 4-3 win! :lol: pretty sure his only other nhl win was done the exact same way.

    I'm amazed he made the NHL honestly. In Portland he stole the crease from Phoenix nepotism draft pick Brendan Burke and looked solid but not big-time-prospect, future NHLer good. Guess I was wrong, good for him

    No, not necessarily. He's been producing, so I would have found a way to play him.

    For instance, some sucker traded me Matt Luff in the off-season. I have managed to dress him in 2/3 of his RL games played (6/9). And he has taken off, with 32.5 Fpts in his last 4 games! I'm looking at options to deal a RW-er out to make sure he's a fixture in the line-up going forward.

    Anyways, I understand why Dries went to Colorado, and why the richer shouldn't always get richer, etc. I was just a bit ticked because I especially needed him next year, and was offering him a chance to be a core player in the future, for $500K more than what he got.

    I offered him guaranteed exposure, no need to find a way to play him, thats probably why he signed here. You can be upset about it but to want free agents to "take note" and penalize me is childish

    There's no hard limits, as it's a case by case basis. A month in for a depth player on a 1 yr deal is perfectly fine.

    The bigger the name/contract, the longer to wait. Teams can always PM us about specific players if they're worried.

    @D-Money take note

    I honestly find it ridiculous between this and Chiasson that I'm receiving flak for guys who were FA's well past summer and into the season beginning. I'm not sign-and-trading Kucherov or some big name guy, but depth players that had no home before I signed them and now finally are on the radars of other teams.

  7. Alex Chiasson will soon be available, trying to get trade talks started on him before so as to offer the maximum benefit to you the buyer. 10 goals in 17 games, averaging 4.8 fp/g on the oilers 2nd line on a 1 year contract at only 500K in salary after retainment. Great rental option, looking for picks

    I want to make it clear that is was the Ottawa Senators of the NHL that was caught on tape trashing their management; It was absolutely not the Ottawa Senators of PUCK. They love their  GM. He’s the best.

    You don't have to tell us, it's your players that haven't been paying attention for 3 weeks

    Since I'm still around tying up loose ends, there's nothing specifically listed as a sign-and-trade penalty, except:

    • If you trade the player soon after matching an offer sheet, it will be counted as a sign-and-trade - which carries unspecific penalties when attempting to sign UFAs, as well as when negotiating with your existing UFAs/RFAs.

    We generally bar the team that completes the sign-and-trade from signing contracts for 1-2 months. Could be longer, depending on the star status of the player traded.

    Would be good for that to be clear in the contracts section if there actually are penalties associated with it

    Just a reminder that the sign and trade penalty exists. The sooner a player is traded after being signed, the longer the penalty lasts.

    And what would that penalty be? There is nothing in the rules section about it.
