Not only a 3/4, but and Edler clone with more edge, and you'll be close to a no.2 than a no.4....
Edler had decent production as well...
in his prime edler was a horse and had canuck's all time defensemen's points record. time was his down fall, like all of us.

i still believe that PA, will trade the 11th along with garland and myers after his bonus is paid to chicago for 19th, 2 2nds and a 3rd.
and then a 2nd and boeser for a center or d man, or he could steal bennings comment and say we tried to do many things but in the end we couldn't do anything.

didn't they give brocafter the or signed for lower cap hits if they want to keep them.k's agent the right to find a team that would take him, last year?
imo, if they can move 2 of boeser, garland and beauvillier's contracts without taking cap back, the team can find players that fit the style they want to play.
myers and beauvillier are on the last years of their contracts and can be not resigned after their contract are done or signed for lower cap hits.

i like 2/3rds of your top 2 lines. 1/3 rd of them are the wrong mix. i see you have us winning each trade.
4th line is all right. can't comment on 3rd line's mix yet until they play together.
no to tryamkin, OEL AND MYERSd
do you have the cap hits worked out?

Someone ranked at 11 in this draft will have top 10 talent. So unless we are offloading OEL and one of Garland/Boeser together then you stay at 11 and grab your guy. Much like detroits strategy as of late
PA"s top job is to clear cap space so they can be cap compliant and to have room to sign the types of players they deem they need to build a stanley cup champion.

the two things that stick out to me from last year, are.
JR said the canucks had the wrong mix of players.
RT played joshua with petey and kuz and burroughs with hughes.
besides needing a 3c imo, we need more grit and more speed.
alex burrows and kevin bieksa in their prime would help

I still think our best deal this summer is with NY Rangers. They are desperate to win and have assets we can use.
To Vancouver:
2023 23OA pick
Alexis Lafreniere
Braden Schneider
Barclay Goodrow
To NY Rangers:
2023 11OA pick
Brock Boeser
Ethan Bear
Nils Hoglander
Trade Beauvillier to Chicago, sign Barbashev, Gavrikov and Schenn and we are good to go...
Kuzmenko Pettersson Mikheyev
Lafreniere Miller Garland
Barbashev Goodrow Podkolzin
Joshua Aman Reaves
PDG
Hughes Schneider
Gavrikov Hronek
OEL Myers
Hirose Schenn
Demko Martin
Pearson/Poolman LTIR
$86.5 million baby...
nice dream. 4 new forwards and 3 new defensemen. good luck lad.

i like the miller, boeser and mikheyev line, but petey and kuz need a more skilled joshua to ride shot gun on that line.
none of these lines, scream stanley cup.

at least mikheyev's speed can make up for boeser's lack of it. could be the perfect wingers for miller.
an abrasive winger for petey and kuz line should work wonders.
can't see any combinations that works good for a 3rd line. if pods makes 3rd line what linemates would work best with him?
getting 10 mil in cap space is the only way to ensure that the right pieces can be signed here.

Interesting read (more fuel for the fire)

was he furious when the owners refuse to rebuild this team when linden was asking for it? was he furious over the retool time after time?

"How many bandaids can our 1st rounder buy?". It's just such a Canucks mentality. 50 years, time for a different mentality I say.
good idea, buy the team and tell the gm what you want to do. or talk the aqualinni's into doing it right.

Ivan Barbashev is the perfect player to play that Burrows role in the top 6...
we have no cap space for anyone until PA can move cap. i thought he was someone that could play 3c for us?

Trading Miller for a young center and picks solves all their problems.
not all, but one big one. whether it is boeser, garland, beauvillier, myers, poolma imo peyeyn or others. witrh a good amount of cap space they can turn this team around with players that are more suited to the style they want to have. imo petey and kuzmenko need a more skilled dakota joshua on their line. someone like a burrows. JR said when he got here, that the team had the wrong mix. with no cap, this team will only get marginally better. we have too many of the same type. they are all too easy to play against.

what i get from all this, everyone wants PA to move cap but no one wants possible solutions only unreal ones. imo PA should use the moves that other teams agree to. he has an impossible position to rectify. let him get it done his way.

I agree. Our owner won’t write that kind of cheque. He should, because it’s mostly his fault for pushing Benning into making such a bad trade to start with, but he won’t. Just imagine buying out OEL and trading Myers (after his bonus) what 13 mil in cap space could do to help Hughes. He’s pretty much our only top four D.
i don't get that. if we pay myer's bonus, that 5 mil is counted against our cap, isn't it. we save 1m.
-
if it helps them get a good 3c and a stay at home d-man, i'm for it.
-
yes to kronek trade. JB wasn't able to upgrade defense. he sign OEL, myers and poolman.
JR and PA have brought in hronek, bear, hirose, dermott and wolanin.
now add a couple of physical, stay at home d men .
if they can upgrade forwards with some faster, physical talent, this team is ready.

does mean garland has been traded and his salary space will be enough to pay for hoglander, barbashev, motte and bear and the 1.5 mil that we are over the cap for next year?
sorry, i didn't see that you traded beauvillia too. that makes more sense.
