I thought it was 'Revved up like a deuce'?...talking about a car

There is few good comedy skits about that song and what people think the words are.

That's what the commies want you to think, lol. I know what I heard...

I just watched a video where Bruce explains the lyrics, he clearly has no idea what a deuce is either. It's specifically referring to a 32 ford.

Of course, even good lyricists have their moments...

Case in point: Bruce Springsteen and Blinded by the Light

I had no idea that the boss wrote the song. The original lyric was cut loose like a deuce instead of wrapped up like a douche, as Manfred Mann sung it. Learn something new everyday around here.

I just came here to post this. In the past all we knew of the conflict was what we were told and shown by those who had their own agendas. Unfortunately that narrative is still prevalent amongst the western world but the prominence of social media has given us a much clearer picture of what is really happening there. The court of public opinion is rapidly changing. Well, maybe not  rapidly, but it's changing. That being said it may be tough to convice the alt right of anything other than brown man bad but the rest of us are watching with our eyes and ears open.

Yes, there's a lot to be said about brainstorming or problem solving - or even addressing emergent issues - in person that you can't really get from a video-conferencing session.  It's hard to lead the team when you're not able to be there in person to bounce questions off of.  I'm just glad that I have a great team that is responsible and can almost run itself.

Shhhh.. don't tell my boss.... :P

and people want to defund the police...

Imagine how many sickos there are in society that have not received any treatment or not been under the radar of police until it is too late..

I would rather have police put their knees on criminals than seeing a random family being murdered on the streets in broad daylight.

IMO the police need to be tougher with these scumbags.

I don't care if you can't breath you're a criminal and scum of society.

    /end rant.

You think the police should be the judge, jury, and executioner? You don't see a problem with this?

I don't disagree. This is a conflict. The problem I see in this discussion is there are clearly people trying to turn this into a purely moral debate where only side is at fault. Also, if the Palestinians dismantled Hamas, including its military wing, into a standard political party (the way Israel did with Irgun), it would solve a lot of problems.

Irgun wasn't dismantled, it was absorbed into the Israeli military. It also led to the formation of Lehi, another self admitted terrorist organization. Lehi was also absorbed by the Israeli military and the leadership of the Irgun and the Lehi are at the roots of the current Likud party. By your logic, Hamas would merely have to change its name to be forgiven for it's terrorist roots.

BC now leads in first doses among the provinces.

Canada surpasses UK in first doses. Soon will catch up to Israel. Need to get that second dose up.

Several of my family in Canada got second dose appointments for this month.

6 adults in my immediate family are booked for their second dose this month and all of the little ones got their first. Things are really looking up at this point. Any idea what's happening with the under 12 vaccinations? I know you have your finger on the pulse of things so I figured I'd ask.

This my friend is real... and like many things has been put under the rug by the CIA and what not.

There is credible evidence from leaked emails and correspondence whether it be from the Podesta's who are known pedos to Hilary Clinton.

I remember reading one Tony Podesta email saying how a child has been sucking on him (or as he stated nibbling on me) since 8 am or something and I was in disbelief to how people are so thick to not believe.

If 215 native children can be found imagine what else is going on in this world behind closed doors and only years later to be discovered.

Wake up sheeple this is not about 5g or chips in vaccines; all of that stuff is nonsense and bizarre theories designed to discredit people from other truths so you think they're stupid.

Lol, you can't be serious? The only pedophiles found in politics recently just happened to be some of the loudest Trump supporting Republicans ala pizzagaetz. Not to mention Trump himself who is named in a lawsuit with Epstein for raping a 13 year old girl.

So far Q's batting average is 0.00. That's right, not one single thing they've predicted has come true, at least where the democrats are concerned, and yet you got sucked in hook line and sinker. It would be very embarrassing if it wasn't so damn sad.

It seems to be that some are slipping through the cracks....my son, too.  And he's had respiratory issues his entire life (spent time in an oxygen tent as a newborn).  Had pneumonia twice RIGHT before COVID hit.  His Dad/my ex is severely asthmatic and some of that's been passed along.

He finally gets his on Sunday....but I can't make sense of some of the people getting booked before that.  I'm trying to be patient...but I'm anxious over it all.  He does NOT leave his house...he orders groceries in, works from home, etc.  He's done everything they've asked of him yet he's at the end of the line.  Maybe we have to start looking at all the Alberta plates and make sure the places where clusters are happening do more to shut out "visitors".   Whistler, Kelowna.  I understand making those places a priority to stop the spread...but use an all out attack and don't dabble.

    Hang in there!

I asked earlier about the wrongfully convicted and am still wondering how to reverse an already carried out death sentence.

I asked because of stories like this

    https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/michigan-man-exonerated-of-murder-after-32-years-in-prison/ar-AAKprDP?ocid=msedgntp

DETROIT (AP) — A man was exonerated Wednesday after 32 years in prison when authorities agreed that he was wrongly convicted of a fatal stabbing in suburban Detroit based on faulty evidence, including a bite mark on the victim.

For years, Gilbert Poole Jr. had challenged his first-degree murder conviction with expertise from the Innocence Project at WMU-Cooley Law School.

An Oakland County judge dismissed the conviction at the request of the Michigan attorney general's office, clearing the way a few hours later for Poole's release from a prison in Jackson.

“I spent decades learning, reading, studying law, but none of that was working for me,” Poole, 56, said in court. “It wasn’t until I surrendered to a higher power and God stepped in and sent me a band of angels to look past the rules and regulations and looked to see who was standing in the furnace. I was standing in the furnace. I didn’t belong here."

Poole was convicted in the fatal stabbing of Robert Mejia, whose body was found in a Pontiac field.

Poole’s girlfriend told police that he had confessed to her that he met Mejia in a bar and later killed him during a violent robbery attempt. A dentist linked Poole to a bite mark on the victim.

Poole repeatedly denied any role. In 2015, the Michigan Court of Appeals ordered DNA testing of biological material gathered by police in 1988. There was evidence of type A blood at the scene, which didn’t match Mejia’s or Poole’s blood.

“Someone else fought with Robert Mejia in the woods that early morning and someone else killed him,” Assistant Attorney General Robyn Frankel told the judge.

Attorney General Dana Nessel said the county prosecutor’s office, which handled the case in 1988-89, had no objection to vacating Poole’s conviction.

Bite mark evidence “has been widely debunked. It's not reliable anymore,” Nessel said. “Then you have here not just that but the advent of very reliable types of testing such as DNA.”

Poole's lawyer, Marla Mitchell-Cichon of the law school's Innocence Project, said an exoneration seemed out of reach at times.

“But we are thrilled that the truth has finally been established,” she said.

Nessel said Poole will be eligible for a variety of post-prison services, including housing assistance. She didn't address whether he would qualify for $1.6 million under Michigan's wrongful conviction compensation program.

The law grants $50,000 for each year spent in prison if someone is exonerated, typically because of new evidence.

    ___

The Innocence Files on Netflix is an outstanding documentary about the Innocence Project and I believe the first episode is about bite mark evidence basically being pseudo science at best. Of couse, the nations leading bite mark investigator had a great deal of difficulty admitting he was wrong despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Disturbing news when you consider how many people have been convicted on bite mark evidence alone.

And if recommendations change, recognize that that is the natural progression of things, not some grand frigging conspiracy .

Society is so hypocritical in terms of what drugs are celebrated versus denigrated. Walked by a woman today with a shirt that said "Mamacita needs her Margarita". It's kind of weird that people celebrate how badly they need alcohol but talk that way about virtually any other drug and you're a skid.

It's arguably as harmful and addictive as any illicit drug. I listen to country music pretty regularly and alcohol references are made in almost every song. My kids point it out all the damn time.

Supply and demand. If you can get a product cheaper then you buy it. People that used hard drugs don't care about the repercussions health-wise.

So many dealers still deal weed at cheaper prices. I have family and friends who still buy weed not at dispensaries. You get way more at less of the cost.

Governments wouldn't be able to keep up with these dealers prices. In the end they want to make money first and foremost. They'll still have people buying but not as much as dealers since they are gonna be selling larger quantities.

There is a big difference between the cost of locally growing weed vs the smuggling of illicit drugs. The government will have a huge advantage in this scenario

Yeah it’s very rare that crimes are committed by PAL holder’s and with legal firearms, I get an inspection at my home randomly to check on my restricted guns (only twice in the last year)  Maybe if they spent that time going after the real criminals and not some of the most responsible citizens this wouldn’t be an issue, but that doesn’t fit the narrative

If most PAL holders don't commit crimes wouldn't you say the program is working as it was intended?
