After reading through this thread this morning, you might want to make another one. Just in case...

I'm gonna reveal some information which may explain to the readers here why I am so annoyed with the Anti-Vaxxers.

    ---

My Niece graduated from Nursing School 3 months before the pandemic hit.

She is a specialist in Pediatrics in Toronto, and her job is delivering babies.

For those who don't have wives or don't understand how childbirth works, I will say its an understatement to say it involves a lot of fluids.

All through the time before the vaccines were available, my niece and her fellow nurses put on their PPE and delivered babies, even though many of their patient mom's were Covid positive and even though their protective gear really didn't protect them.

Several of her fellow nurses got Covid and one was extremely sick, approaching death, and has not recovered or returned to work.  Another has long Covid.  Some of the others still do not feel 100%.

But... now the Nursing Staff have been vaccinated, they are mostly protected.

But that doesn't stop the burn out from seeing Covid positive mothers come in suffering and in some cases, dying.  Overwhelmingly, (90%) these infected Moms are unvaccinated.  Some of them it seems because of pressure from others not to take the vaccine.  Other Moms who have been vaccinated and who come in not sick with Covid have been infected in the hospital... because this virus now spreads unbelievably well.

Almost every one of my Nieces co-workers wants to quit... they are that fatigued and depressed with the situation.  My Niece also wants to quit.

None of them have quit because they know if they do, there will be no one to replace them.

This is what this Pandemic and those who refuse to get vaccinated are doing to our Health Care system and those who work in it.

This is what I am hearing from friends in the field as well. It really is hanging by a thread. The antivaxxers/sympathetics would have you believe it's all the unvaxxed health care workers that were let go.

Holy crap!  How selfish, ignorant, and disrespectful can people be?  CleArly this guy’s personal idiotic and foolish agenda is more important to him than his child.  Poor child of his doesn’t have a chance.

Imagine being in an institution full of very sick kids, with very compromised immune systems, and refusing to get vaccinated.

You read one of these articles and its so obviously bullsh&t....

So sick of these virtual signaling leeches. Have your beliefs but dont get off on people you dont know dying from things you dont know. Its completely backwards, the people calling people "nazi's" literally want triage camps and celebrate deaths of those who don't agree with them about something literally nobody has the answer for.

Below is one of many examples how insane this website is. I see a lawsuit coming this is straight sinister.

According to many reports Mak Parhar died on November 4. We do not currently know the cause of death, but Mak admitted on several of his many livestreams that he's been sick with sore throat, fever, and a cough "

Mak Pahar, is thar the hot yoga douche?

Here's a population in Israel that has 3-4 doses, and way ahead of Canada. This vax doesn't prevent transmission, and never did. Do you see the problem on the far top right yet?

There were times that I thought, maybe your presence in this thread is genuine, but I was never quite sure. Thanks for clearing it up.

The 4th dose is being rolled out, after 3rd booster in other countries? I'm not against the vax, but that argument will wear out soon as new variants evade vaccine immunity.

Instead of arguing over antivaxers we should really support the health care workers and teachers instead. They need support and proper protection from an airborne disease via N95 masks.

I specifically asked you for a link to something to back up your claim that "boosters only last weeks and are being oversold" and you respond with an answer to the part of your post I cut out. Can you provide anything or is all of this a disingenuous attempt to muddy the watters?

Should have added ...for high risk groups that are past 6 months from second dose. Studies are showing that it doesn't give you another 6 months though. The boost is very short lived for a few weeks and declines quickly. It won't hurt to get it, but it's being VERY oversold here.

Okay fine...got a link for this?

"The data has been proven by health officials, according to Henry, that vaccinated people do have the potential to contract the Omicron variant at a higher rate than other strains, but adds that the potential does decrease with a booster shot."

Surely this is data from other places though, because we aren't sampling enough PCR cases here to have any real data on the topic. In many cases, we aren't even counting, as criticized by many BC data scientists.

"adding that a booster shot provides over 80 per cent more protection."

"Additionally, Henry says that health officials are anticipating additional treatment options becoming available in B.C. soon as a number of new anti-viral medications are currently under review by Health Canada."

Like molnupiravir? I sure hope not. The last thing we need is a pile of new variants to deal with.

No mention of allowing proper N95 masks for the vulnerable health workers exposed to an airborne virus. Meanwhile, 40%+ of infections occur inside the hospital and staff at some hospitals listed recently at 50% due to covid19. The madness continues. /end rant of reason.

You're doing what I did unintentionally in my initial post by including partially vaccinated in your unvaccinated numbers? Here's the numbers no one can argue with I think.

hospitalized        unvaccinated 26.6%  partially vaccinated   5.3%      fully vaccinated 68.1%

    population                                 16.9%                                   5.6%                                77.5%

I don’t remember them doing that.
I remember them cutting healthcare almost every time they got a chance.

I get the irony.  The rights are so exhausting most the time i just usually ignore them.

Sorry if I ruined your joke.   Lol

It's the argument de jour I'm seeing from the antivax/sympathetic community.

I agree.  Enough is enough with our government not stepping up over the last 2-3 years and upgrading hospitals and healthcare.
Billions of dollars that could have been put toward fast tracking the solutions to these problems.
Instead they wasted a bunch of our money keeping us home and ruining business.

FYI.   All surgeries were backed up and on waiting lists long before covid.
Our heathcare system is and was a joke.
It’s ridiculous they haven’t done anything to improve it, even when we have the need for it staring them in their big dumb faces.

We shouldn’t have to pick and chose who lives and dies, but you people can’t get that through your skulls.

We all deserve better, but so many people have decided to blame each other and fight their neighbors instead of the ones denying us of a proper healthcare system.

    But...but...that's socialism.

    Whoa.   Watch it there.
If you call out the government for their poor planning, reaction, efforts, accountability…..

people are going to assume you are an antivaxer.  Lol.
You are bang on with this post, but people can’t take Bonny and Horgan’s underwear off of their faces long enough to see they have fumbled this every step of the way and continue to do so.
Zero effort trying to address the real issue.
Just straight to lock them down and close it all up.

I remember before the pandemic all the Conservative folks complaining that we don't fund health care in Canada enough. I guess they were right.

  14. What I am hearing from the medical community is that everyone is burnt out. People are tired of being mistreated by the unvaxxed who know better than them about treatment. Tired of the death threats and the physical abuse. How are we supposed to get new people working in health care when we can't even protect the ones already in it? If our health system collapses, any shred of empathy I have for antivaxxers will be gone.
