That’s a very smart contract right there. He’ll get play time for cap reasons in Pittsburgh alone.

as long as he’s kicked his long-haul Covid issues, he’ll do well in the bottom six there.

You left me a good team. And helped me out a ton after I returned from my 5 year-ish perma ban

I’ll always be grateful to you Greensie.

You joining the league was what it took for me to give up that team, I was so happy to hand you the reigns. So glad you are back… you were gone a while and sorely missed!

we all make mistakes, and we’re all here to have fun. Just ask mike about my jannik hansen incident, I’m sure he’s still paying for a billboard of mockery out there somewhere

When I joined in the old days but got banned or most recently? Hahaha.

Boston - the gigantic list of the future of the organization in rfa format, remember

    Just needs to get going.

I honestly think he was just waiting for things to die down. Brother got a barrage of “I’ll take that skilled player of yours for a bag o dicks” PM’s .

Seriously though, VAN needs a GM asap.

They’re in rough shape. I’m not seeing any draft picks, and they’re not even close to icing a team.

Needs to be addressed. FA list is shortening by the day. The team needs a GM that’s going to get on it very quickly.

Hey, didn’t you lose a franchise worth of rfas when you joined?

at least he qualified his RFA’s :bigblush:

Vancouver does have a GM, he’s just been with family this past week. @Crapper King is our guy.

    Is list current ?

As all the players who are listed as UFA'S are still UFA'S ?

If you see someone you like, do a quick thread check to see if they’ve been signed in the last few days. Easiest/most effective from laptop or desktop

This is just a question for the experts on contracts.

What is happening with Slafkovsky's contract with Montreal.

He was the number 1 pick yet he has a listed figure of $950, 000 for the next three years with a blue arrow and a 50 in a red circle ?

What does this mean in real life and does this sort of thing impact what we can offer our high draft picks?

I have done some research and can't come up with much.

With ELC’s, we drastically reduced the amount of bonuses in signings, because players seldom meet all of their bonuses (achieve their full AAV)

Slafkovsky’s contract is actually 950k per season base contract. He has a staggering bonus of 3.5 million per year, with a yearly signing bonus of another 95k. His overall AAV is 4.45m per season for the next 3 years.

In the GML that contract will cost you 3.25m per season, with a base of 925k.

If you two could have a chat about how it all works… if J.I.A.H.N could please read through the CBA… please submit an application.

if you decide to submit an application, please send it to me for review in our executive. CDC members vetted by GML members are ideal.

We are currently interviewing two prospective GM’s for the open teams, but even if the league is full at this time, we would love to have someone in line for the next available roster. Glad you’ve stopped by :metal:, let us know if you are interested.

Have a feeling hes going to really break out next year

I’ll be honest, I had a hard time with this one. I felt it was too high, but @lethunder and Electric Entertainment we’re patient with me, kept listening and responding, and we inevitably agreed to this deal. When I really took the time to run through the comparables, I found my agent was not far off at all.

It will be interesting to see how the next year goes. As the expansion GM, all I knew was that there was no way I should let a talented 26 year old go. Not something to be taken lightly, nor something worth quibbling over dollars and cents.

lots of potential for a breakout, with the right opportunities. Fingers crossed.

  12. KRAKEN 1st round report

GML #13 Pavel Mintyukov - Russia

    IRL #10 - ANA (+3)

GML #20 Brad Lambert - Finland

    IRL #30 - WPG (-10)

GML #21 Owen Pickering - Canada

    IRL #21 - PIT (E)

GML #52 Maveric Lamoureux - Canada

    IRL #29 - ARZ (+30)

    - pleased with everything except Lamoureux becoming a Coyote. He requires some focussed hands-on training and building, and I believe ARZ to be completely inept in every way in that department (as well as others).

Yeah committed to him early to see his development. Wasn't sure if he would even come over and when I heard he signed a deal, I was very excited and even had him pencilled into my lineup, which was why I made Francouz available.

The crazy part isn't that they arrested him (which is ridiculous in itself), but the fact that he's seemingly fallen ill after some injection that was "doctor prescribed" and now he's "hospitalized" but not listed as a patient and his lawyers and family aren't even allowed to go see him.

This is devastating in the hockey sense, but much worse for him and his family and friends.

and all of that happened at a military enlistment office.

My wife is Russian... i wouldn't believe any of this if she hadn't been telling me about life there for the past decade. This is common in daily life, this is just one notable person which has drawn attention.

Figures  I’d only searched this year’s thread and last… you are too smart.

Sad news, sorry bro. That guy was a monster for the past two years, and had all the momentum for a real NHL push. Hope there is some sort of resolution, but can’t see how…

  15. Crazy...

Always scouting, as I'm sure you all are, i just checked in on an exciting goalie prospect i was dying to offer on, only to find he`s at the heart of the severance between russian and american hockey... it seems that those that were nervous or tentative about russian players at the draft may have been exactly correct.

Ivan Fedetov led CSKA Moscow to the Gagarin Cup last season, and announced this spring that he`d be coming to america to play with the Flyers. A silver medal winner in Beijing.

Ivan was detained at a military office two days ago, drugged by injection, and taken to hospital and not allowed to talk to his family. He was cited and charged with evading military duty, and has been tied to rumours of being shipped away to a northern prison camp, as well as being possibly threatened with immediate duty in the Ukraine.

Insanity. I can`t imagine anyone will be announcing plans to leave the KHL anytime soon... I even fear for professional players that have returned home, and their chances of returning.

After some great negotiations with the wonderful folks at Arby’s, we’re pleased to have locked down these three players.

We hope to see Logan Stanley (expansion selection from COL) compete for a consistent bottom pairing role this season, and to challenge further in the coming years. Smart little bridge here allows for another RFA negotiation, while giving the player a well deserved raise.

Radim Zohorna (Trade acquisition from ARZ) quickly became an asset last season. With many opportunities due to injury, he had ample call-ups last season which gave him more NHL opportunity than originally expected. He is likely to challenge for a roster spot this season. His production was surprisingly consistent for his low minutes… we look forward to seeing what he can achieve given time and ability to create line chemistry, as well as to get comfortable in the locker room.

David Gustafsson (trade acquisition DET) is at the right age, and possibly a little harder to judge. His defensive gritty style doesn’t light up score boards, but we see him challenging for roles of opportunity throughout this season, and becoming a solid third line center in coming years.
