Virtanen played like Tkachuk when he came to the NHL but had that coached out of him within a couple months.  Instead of letting him be an impactful - though a little on the edge - young player, making an impact - he was immediately called on to tone it down and become a more responsible 200' player...you know...like Chaput and Megna who play the way they are supposed to.

Tkachuk is walking a fine line but he was arguably the most impactful player on the ice last night and showed more grit and tenacity in that one game than our entire team has all year.

Apparently Burkey and Gully have no problem with Tkachuk's playing style  either. They just let him loose, the whole team followed his lead and lost the game last night. :P  Still, watching Doughty cringe whenever Tkachuk skated toward him was priceless.

Tkachuk would have been fully domesticated by our League of Extraordinary Gentlemen management and the leadership group, had we drafted him. Just look at what they did to JV18 and his game.

Instead of scoring goals and lacking up penalty minutes, Tkachuk would have been just skating 200ft back and forth waving his stick with Chaput and Biega.

  3. Oh well. His multi-million bank account will cheer him up.

It may help, but that's not all.

For professiona athletes winning chapionship is the ultimate prize, and not many even get a crack at it. Lundquist knows his team blew it and he may never get another chance.

Do you think Canucks were thinking about their paycheck when they had to watch the Bruins lifting the cup in 2011?

  4. Bad news for the Canucks - the Kings can easily return essentially their entire team again next year.

    http://www.capgeek.com/armchair-gm/roster/23785

it's a bad news for the entire league, fans (except LA's) and the game itself. We'll have to endure watching a style of hockey that will make the "Dead Puck" era hockey look like an art in comparison. Virtually every team will now try to copy LA's style, including our very own Canucks.

I know the league office won't give a s**t about it though, as long as big US market teams keep winning,

  5. The KIngs core is getting old and stale.

Kopitar - one goal in 18 games.

Richards - relegated to the fourth line.

Willie - can't have that many more miles in that punished body of his.

Doughty - is an annoying whiner.

Why wait? Start the rebuild now.

    Adding to your list...

Quick - a bitch pretending to be a tough guy

Brown - king rat of rats; brad marchand 2.0

Nolan, King, Clifford - freakin' freaks

Garborik - think he drank from the fountain of youth? Watch him signing a new fat contract with a lesser team in the off season and then fizzling into retirement
