One more week until season opener v. TFC! Wonder if Reo-Coker will play where Robson was or out wide right. He can also play RB but I don't see him beating Lee out for that spot. "The M&M Strikeforce" could be interesting to watch, too. Can't wait! 'Caps! -

I LOVE it when Blues lose, but I hate it almost as much when City wins. Poor Captain Frank had a chance to change the game, after the Ba dive, with the penalty. Would have been his 200th goal for the club. No dice! Bahahaha! Great save by the much maligned Joe Hart. Mancini was still ripping him in his post game interview saying he has to be better. Is Mancini's time up? Tevez' goal was a sweet strike, but, not as sweet as Rafael's in the ManU game yesterday. -

Also captained Wimbledon, Villa and England U-21. He's already played for 5 clubs at 28, 'Caps will be his 6th, and they are kind of heading in the wrong direction... Wimbledon, West Ham, Villa, Bolton, Ipswich (Championship), 'Caps. Must be a reason... Hope he's a better signing than Jarju and Robson! -
I love Mad Season! Have to check these tunes out. Screaming trees are awesome, too. I love "Last Words", but it's not as good as Sweet Oblivion or Dust, IMO. Looking forward to new AIC, too. Loved "Black...". "Hollow" is sweet, as well.

I absolutely love the F.A. Cup! Arsenal done in by Championship club Blackburn Rovers was awesome! It was hilarious to see Wenger throw on Wilshere, Walcott and Corzola in panic to try to salvage a draw. No trophies, again, for Gunners. Could this be the last chapter in Wenger's Arsenal career? Could still win the Champions league, I guess? Oldham owns Merseyside this campaign. Knocked out Reds last round and score a literal last-second-of-stoppage goal today against Everton to earn a draw and get a needed payday from revenues at Goodison next week. Tomorrow, I say... Go, Leeds (v. City)! Go Huddersfield (v. Wigan)! -
Just listened to Tupelo... Wish he would come to Dawson Creek! We have a 6000 seater. No one here would know who he is, though!

Do you have ducats, dude? I would Sooooooooooo love to be at Celtic Park on the 12th! Brings back memories of the 2001 match v Juve, eh? Juventus are not the team they once were but, there are still a formidable foe. They will attack Hoops relentlessly and, I believe, Hoops defense and counter attack may be enough tactically to pull out a 2-1 home win. No away goals for Juve, and obviously, a couple of goals in a home win would be the bomb. Go, Hoops! -

What's deadline day like in the UK, Scottish? Is it bonkers in countries like Spain, Italy, Germany, France, too? I wonder if it compares to trade deadline or July 1st in the NHL? Both national sports channels here in Canada devote day-long programs to both days. -

What a match! WTF was Pepe Reina thinking? Stay in his goal, Reds leave Etihad with 3 points. Aguero's finish was awesome, though... one in a million! 4 sweet goals in the match. Which one was best? I say Stevie G's, but Aguero's was dope, too. Result leaves Reds 9 points out of Champion's League and City 9 behind United. Best match of the year, so far, in the EPL? -

How 'bout a keeper, Mad Cow? Szczesney is good enough in your eyes? I agree whole-heartedly with the rest of the bold above. Wilshire and Ramsey are both studs, too. Giroud and Walcott up front in a 4-4-2 might work, no? -

There is a separate thread, but, I say fire the ballboy and suspend Hazard for 3 matches without pay. Both have apologized to one another so, move on. -
Great song, GLASSJAW. I detect some 80's era Peter Gabriel in there. Sounds familiar, but fresh.

Phew! I thought maybe you heard something new. I sure hope he's back. Nothing on the team's site on the pre-season roster showing his name, though. -

This is a great question, GLASSJAW, that has been asked over and over again for the past 3 years or so. He does well taking young teams and keeping them competitive, but, without a true star, he struggles to win trophies. The question also arises, "Why cant Gunners sign or keep the big names anymore?" Could it be Wenger? The Walcott signing was a great one for the club. Was hoping Reds might bid for him in the summer window, but Wenger did the right thing to keep him. Arsenal need a 'keeper and a couple of centre-halfs, too, and that DM that you speak of. They are weak down the middle, for sure! -

I heard , about 10 days or so ago, Bob Lenarduzzi talking on Global about Chiummy returning. Have you heard anything different, pimpcurtly? -

Looks like Gunners are in that "Liverpool Territory" you were speaking of last week, Mad Cow! They do have a game in hand, though... And things could be much worse than 6th. They're only 4 points out of Europe and 7 from CL. Anything's possible. -

I tend to agree, pimpcurtly. He did have a pretty decent start, but, he turned into a total whinger and whiner after 3 or 4 matches. Wasn't able to provide consistent service to the strikers, either. He demanded, and received, the ball a lot. After that, mostly big-long-1970's-Division-One-kicks up field or dribbling into trouble and turning the ball over. This was followed by walking back and yelling at his mates for not giving him options. He looked mostly disinterested, too. -

Two pretty entertaining matches today. Didn't think they quite lived up to the hype created, but, still some good footy in very snowy conditions. It looked like FIFA 13 in London today! Chelsea 2 - Arsenal 1 - Two games in one! Chelsea made Arsenal look like a bunch of U-6 school girls in the first half and the tide was turned in the 2nd. Mata's goal came after what looked like a nasty challenge by Valencia on Coquelin. Bad miss by the ref. He was standing right there. Sweet finish by Walcott after signing his new deal. He has finally arrived - 15 goals, so far. Spurs 1 - ManU 1 - Clint Dempsey scores a late equalizer in the 92nd minute after a brutal punch "clearance" by De Gea, who otherwise had a pretty sweet game. He uses his feet really well. van Persie scored an awesome header, backpedalling, on Man U's only real chance of the first half. Rooney should have drawn a penalty late but the ref and assistant ignored it. ManU were lucky to get the point. Spurs deserved the full 3. Man, I love the EPL! -

I would pay 12-15M for him if I were Brenden Rodgers. He would be perfect in the middle of the pitch for years to come. On another note, great win by Reds today, 5-0 over a struggling Norwich. Sturridge looking like a good pick up with 3 in 3 and a world-class dummy on a through ball from Gerrard that ended up on Suarez' foot for the second Liverpool goal. -

Sweet selection for Scotland. Strach looks like he could still play. Reds could use a player with his character, grit and skill, for sure. Hey, Scottish... Any rumblings from Glasgow about Wanyama staying or going? TalkCeltic mentions ManU, but, everyone worth mentioning is going to ManU. Heard anything, dude? Why isn't Liverpool jumping all over this guy with Sahin now off on his way to Germany and Gerrard heading to the sunset? -

What's your take on Paddy, Scottish What's your take on Paddy, Scottish? He certainly hasn't featured much at Celtic. 60 appearances in 5 seasons is pretty weak. The 'Caps do need a speedy winger to replace Richards. He plays the right side, no? Is he worth a gamble at 29? -

Saw Bobby Lenarduzzi on Global this morning talking about how the club is planning on bringing in some new blood. He said that he would like to sign or trade for some MLS-experienced players who are used to the travel rigours and style of play in the MLS. I tend to agree. Can't wait to see which has-been Scots they dig up this time! Seriously, though, what do fellow 'Caps fans see as the club's biggest needs? For me, creative midfielding (Chiumy?), speedy right side winger and another centre-back would make me feel pretty good. I'd like to say we need another striker, too, but I want to see if Salgado can actually play if given the opportunity. What you guys think?
