  1. Oh man, Thomas has taken shots at 3 Canucks players tonight. Lol. He's a feisty little bugger.
  2. I def think that will happen - if/when Gillis is canned. It's been a tough, well really rough, 2 years for Canucks management IMO. 2 years in professional sports is a lifetime. If Canucks don't make it far this yr, I think there'll be a GM change. But does anyone know last time we've heard from Gillis? Doesn't he usually do a weekly spot on team 1040?
  3. When was the last time we saw/heard from Gillis? Looks like he's ending out Gilman to do his dirty work when the team is struggling.
  4. I've seen enough of this new d-coach, he desperately wants something that ain't gonna happen. Its time for Tanev-Hamhuis to play against Huberdeau line. Garry/Edler are getting killed - as usual.
  5. Solid stuff from @VanCanucks tonight. Wish I could way the same for the team on ice.

  7. Time to get #sevenyeardrought trending. Those bums, lol
  8. Vancouver Canucks ‏@VanCanucks 8m . Edmonton Oilers ‏@EdmontonOilers 3m Vancouver Canucks ‏@VanCanucks 3m Are you sh###ting me? The Oilers? Who haven't made the playoffs since....... I can't remember it's been so long.
  9. I still don't understand why Tanev/Hamhuis have been moved to shutting down the opp's 2nd line, instead of the 1st. The teams struggles started when the d-coach moved that pairing. Edler Garrison are getting lit up in shot differential most nights. They are NOT the teams shut down pairing - the d coach needs to wake up.
  10. I don't know about task master. But I guarantee he'll be ripping a strip off them in intermission.
  11. Def one of the worst periods they've played in a while. They'll be better in the 2nd after Torts rips a strip off them, lol
  12. Unreal. Honestly. Should be 2-0 already only 4 mins in - against the lowly Panthers.
  13. Oh christ. Goalie interference call against Thomas - deja vu - gonna have nightmares tonight.
  14. @ExtraSkater: "As of now, 8 of the top 10 possession teams as measured by fenwick close are from the West. http://www.extraskater.com/teams/on-ice?type=total" Van #6 which is great.

they're rocking a low team sh% right now and too many goals against. Over time they should be better *fingers crossed*

But notice 4 of the top 10 puck possession teams in the league come from the Pacfic div. Yowsa, it's gonna be a tough yr.

    4. Henrik Kesler

Only a matter of time before the goals start piling up. Very hard to be a good puck possession team and struggle to score goals

  15. LOL. Was Hank trying to pull Kass onto the bench before that last PP?
  16. Hanks a good this year. I love it. Next time he should aim for the zebra.
  17. Seriously, who else is looking forward to Torts postgame? Sometimes he's the most exciting part of a hockey game.
  18. That's one way to wake up the fans at Rogers Arena. Lol.
  19. Maybe they are average on paper - I'm not really sure what to expect this season from the Canucks to be honest. But I know Luongo is better than how he's played this yr, we've all seen him for many years now. This is not the Luongo we've seen forever. OMG, they disallowed that goal? Unreal. Torts is gonna lost his s#$% in post game. It's a must watch.
  20. Ya, I'm def not a goalie expert. And I also don't like piling on the goaltender, and I'm not a Luongo hater. It's not about that. But as I documented in the post above, there are legitimate concerns about him this season. Can he find a way mentally to get over being in this town where he doesn't want to be? He's been in this league forever and has been one of the leagues best. We know he can do it, but will he? The #'s aren't in his favor despite great D (for the most part) infront of him. The team needs more.
  21. He's been sporting one of the leagues worst even strength SV% this entire season. He's coming off his worst yr as a NHL goaltender. He got screwed this summer by the Canucks. I have concerns - those are all legitimate concerns. It's not about 1 game.
  22. It's the western conference, not a ton of goals are scored each night. Teams win by strong defence in this conference. Last 8-10 games, Canucks have limited the opposition to below avg # of scoring chances - against good teams. The best D I've seen them play since 10/11. Luongo of 10/11 would have had a shutout or 2 already in those games. It's a concern IMO. Of course, their inability to score goal is also a problem, but I think it's more bad luck than anything. They're dominating puck possession, generating lots of chances. But it's the west, they've come up against great goaltending - which the Canucks need.
