    Got to see her in Toronto as a birthday present from my Nephew. Also covered by hacks like Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney.  Dreamland a fabulous album pin to pin!

    Sad to see Otto go!  For 3 years our best or 2knd best AHL forward. Due to finally get a fair share of time! Good luck brother! 

     

    In our case it was a #'s game.  Even with Otto gone, we have excellent NHL/GML ready depth players at F on the West Coast Eagles. 3 more who received reasonable time last year. Perhaps Brandon Coe, Studenic, Brayden Tracey & Tyler Angle to join them. 

     

    Yet with Aaron Ekblad expected to miss camp, part of the start to our season?  We needed at least some extra depth on D, so are grateful to receive Mark!

    If they really want a better 2knd PP Anthony DeAngelo, no doubt, can be had for $1M or $2M no term.

    Lyabushkin is a great target. I love the idea!  Just a depth guy at his age, but the just picked up Erik Johnson.  So maybe expendable???

     

    Not sure they need Garland?

     

    RW Tuch, Peterka, Olofson (last year, was on block), Quinn, Isaac Rosen

     

    Also have F prospects Kulich who is dynamite.  They want to play center, but I have read he will play wing. Plus Noah Ostlund.

    [RUMOUR] Auston Matthews close to signing a 3-5 year deal at $13.5 million AAV

    Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos shared what he’s hearing on the situation and insights from Elliotte Friedman, who appeared on NHL Network, shed a little more light on what’s going on. In fact, Kypreso indicated he’s spoken with multiple people and that the figure has been determined.

     

    He joined the JD Bunkis Podcast and said:

     

    “I don’t know whether we’re in a blinking contest or not between Nylander and Matthews or who needs to go first, but if I’m Auston Matthews, I’m not holding my breath on Nylander’s contract getting done at all at any point this summer. So, how far does Matthews want to go into the season, now, without a contract? If it is as close as everyone is reporting – and everyone that I’ve talked to says it’s a $13.5M AAV – then what is the term? I think for me, the biggest decision right now, which I think Auston can’t decide on or they haven’t made a final decision is, is how many years will what we believe is a $13.5M AAV last?”

     

    With the number of years still not quite finalized, Friedman believes that an agreement will be reached and probably fairly soon. The exact terms and timing remain uncertain but he thinks the contract duration is expected to fall within the range of three to five years.

    3 years.  Just my opinion.

     

    FWIW I dont see him as a $15 Mill player. Is there such a thing?  I also don't see him worth his current contract. But he holds all the leverage...  

     

    As for Nylander > yeah Matthews is better, Marner.  Much better?   Nylander actually had the same forty goals & 2 more assists than Matthews this year.  Outproduced Tavares this year and last.  I can see why he would say why do these guys have more than $15 Mill extra in career earnings. I think he should hold out for $10 Mill.  The worst he could do is get $8.5M in a tax haven in the sun next summer.

     

    The money Nylander did not get on his last deal was overpaid to Tavares / Marner / Matthews.

    How did Vilmer skate and move around at development camp?

     

    I personally like the idea of Alricksson's draft. In 4th and 5th rounds pure talent has holes. What you want is to draft someone you can deploy which is a matchup problem whenever they are on the ice. In some guys case, it's scoring. Which makes no difference if you cannot keep up with the play? Or the ferocity of the forecheck.  If Vilmer is a blue blooded athlete he could be an interesting pick.
