    The Animals; long one of, if not my favorite 60's band?

     

    This such an underdone song. Almost hidden in their library. Lyrically meaningful; Eric Burdon as he gets going sounding like Robert Plant just one or two years later.

    The 2019 Draft Class -- Different Paths for Different Players (Bains, Podz, Hogz)

    I suppose I am wishing Hogz & Podz spent more time in the AHL earlier.

     

    They looked great in Abbotsford.  Plausible, but less exciting than billed in the NHL earlier.  

     

     

    * I remain of the opinion team Speed & Senacity are the key ingredients missing from our current line up. 

    * Hoglander in particular has plenty of jump, Podz size with good speed.

    * S & T are also what values up in PK by the way!

    * We just needed these guys working on those things.

     

    Maybe neither will be 30 goal scorers?  I think they will be great Canucks.

     

    Bains has a shot; good on him considering his background.

    Before start any real festivities, which have had to be postponed till next week.  And require some issues to be settled, some time for our community to heal? Some things get discussed.

    I brought my gold medal, to remind myself of times past & goals.  I'd like to remind Edmonton fans this is our goal.  Not a gold medal, a Stanley Cup. 

     

    I have spoken to our admin, team & of course Surfer before and after Patrick decided to take his talents elsewhere.  Also Patrick, which was why I encouraged CS not to pursue Patrick this summer.  I know Surfer was just doing what he thought kept great talent; which Patrick was. And he tried hard to sign Patrick Kane!

     

    We have to stay grounded.  Patrick wasn't trouble in the room. But he was not there either. Who brings 57 points to a contract year; then holds his team randsome?

    It's troubling to me because I wanted Patrick to be our friend.  To be a winner, to back check. To play defense.  It seems he did not care? Wants the party life, to hang out where the towers & poles are biggest for him to climb, ride. Golden showers in the back of taxi cabs with Evander Kane to the new ''Great Canadian Casino'' North of the airport where they get free sponsorship. They'll be ambassadors for Ontario Lottery & Gaming corp. I heard?

     

    It's more troubling to me because it's Toronto! I cannot believe anyone would sign a contract with Crabby.  Who had to have his claws clipped, a new ID to hide his unsavory past.  Who personally lied and jerked me, Sidney Crosby, around when I waived to come to Toronto. Made my first chance to play at home in Canada a dissapointment. Made it so ugly I had to agree to leave!  I am happy to now have my home in Edmonton!

     

    Hopefully those others? All who signed contracts for less than their value in Toronto! Realize, its Evander & Patrick Kane Crabby pandered to. ''I won't say more!''

    Of course the violence and riots that happened last night were unwarranted.  We want to appeal for calm.

     

    We condemn those who hung life size effigies of commissioner Buttman. Burned those of Patrick, his agents Sergei & RelyT! Burned police cars & claimed collusion on Wayne Gretzky drive. People who showed up at my residence, tried to break in & asked why we were not serious in Edmonton? Turned over cars, burned garbage in the park across the street.  People's behaviour is disappointing sometimes! I repeat a third call for calm.

    Patrick, he has right to sign where he chooses, negotiate how he wants to negotiate.  Yes we tendered offers that were consistent with other MVP's who came to market in recent years.  Yes, we even tendered an offer with higher AAV than Sid Crosby, than he signed for with Toronto. We just did not offer the same term.

     

    His agent never engaged in-between aside from saying, as they all do, he wanted to be in Edmonton. Wanted more money than we were offering. No counter proposals, no dialogue, substance. Four months after we contacted Patrick a new super agent surfaced; saying he had a deal in place he wanted us to deal with. There had to be to and fro? Because that offer was barely 1/2 demands from us. It was less annual AAV than we had on the table. And it was make or break.  

     

    So I have to report to Edmonton fans that IMO Patrick did not want to be here. Or maybe he did deserve it, term and big dollars were offered! Maybe we just got out GM'd? We are going to be transparent because our fans are upset. We had dollars that honored his MVP past, but only 1 year to cover risk as he was also a 57 point forward at 34. That will be their cross to bear in Toronto. We did what we felt was best for our team, are sorry Patrick has moved on.

     

    So Brian Burke Surfer added; lets honor Patrick as suggested. But have fun with the fact we 'tot it were fishy!'
