  1. Not even comparable. I am plenty faithful when it comes to the team but sometimes you have to be realistic. blues were a Stanley cup contender underachieving with a VERY good roster. We are a terrible team with a couple really good young players. not comparable.
  2. Realistically this is a hindsight trade, it all depends how things shake out and if were able to gain any picks back for players we have, just looks really bad giving up a first. This is a team striving to improve from bad to a mediocre team. If we were trying to get mediocre to good, I’d be all on board... but we are still a bad team.
  3. This is a Brandon Sutter-like trade. you give up assets for a player pushed down the lineup on a deep team and hope he can shoulder a bigger load.. sutter was a 3rd line center in Pittsburgh and benning hoped he could be more. He didnt become more, lost essentially all his trade value and looks like a waste. Hopefully miller can actually fill the role we got him for.
  4. Nope, bad new bears... we aren’t in position to give up any first round pick! Gross. this is a result of benning fearing for his job.
  5. On 1040 the mentioned that some sources close to Barrie say he has expressed wanting to play in Vancouver. Through these trade talks, we served notice that we want him. now we can wait for him in free agency, we aren’t competing for the cup next year anyways. Feels a bit like hamhuis serveral years ago.
  6. Who? Like Ehlers who is on the block because he didnt perform in the playoffs? Nylander who got a big contract and then has fallen off the map?
  7. Thanks tips, real keen insight. Just can you could, doesnt mean you should. Jakes value isn’t close to Barrie. Jake would be a bit of a toss in. We have others to toss in there. Our the cupboards aren’t as bare as they once were. jake still has potential
  8. Ive been a supporter since he was drafted. Don’t trade him.
  9. Not sure how to quote twitter posts but McGuire on TSN 1040 said: ”Would surprise me if Tyson Barrie didn't end up with the Canucks’
  10. Toronto has zero cap at the moment, i dont know how that would work.
  11. I’d do that. I have been anxious ever since virtanen was mentioned. HE WOULD HAUNT US!
  12. I’d take subban If they sell low. He would help a lot on the ice. I think if you pick up subban though, you put the C on Horvat’s jersey. Let subban know is doesn't run the show and the world doesn't revolve around him
  13. Please no! Virtanen is risky to trade, i still believe he could be a really good player for us ESPECIALLY when we get back to the play-offs. He just seems like one of those players that will come alive ... and the first rounder could be a lottery pick again, see Ottawa...
  14. It would suck to lose Stecher but that would be a pretty good situation! Assuming we could sign Barrie. i am sure benning and co can do just as well with the 16th as they could with the 10th especially in a draft like this.
