I agree. I am lucky, I love the jersey, logo colours and everything. part of it is because I hate the flip flopping of identities. green and blue are the longest and current serving colours, orca is the longest serving primary. I say keep them for the primary. I get people being upset though, especially the skate crowd. I got into the Canucks when I was around 4 in 92, ive been a die hard, I like seeing the skate jerseys, its nostalgic and fun. after this jersey, the Orca fans have been served well, and the reason why the team went for this jersey for the retros makes it even cooler. but I am down with a Skate alternate now, something in the current colour scheme. problem with most mock ups is the skate logo is pretty clumsy... and adding the blue and green colours to it makes it look... cringy... Id now like to see a Mainly black jersey with Blue/green/white striping accents ETC with a modernized skate logo that is mainly black/silver, minimal colour to help it from looking dated a cluttered. I think those would be bad ass and fit into current Canucks identity. we won't be flip flopping any more, we will keep our blue and green identity and skate fans will be happy. I am very happy not to share colours with Calgary anymore... wouldn't happen but I think a good way to honour all Canucks jerseys: home - Blue with current orca no word mark roads - whites with stick and rink (like 40th anniversary jerseys) Alternate - Black blue/green with silver skate. all that being said... I DONT CARE ABOUT THE JERSEY, I WANT A CUP!!! ahaha

Ive said this before, so I am repeating myself, but these topics keep repeating! Jakes Hockey IQ is not EP40 or elite, we know this. But its good enough. I see Virtanen as a bit of the opposite of Alex Burrows. Alex burrows didn't have the raw skills or any special physical ability but his Hockey IQ was really high, he out thought his limitations and worked really hard. Jakes has all these physical gifts that are very rare to find one package but his hockey IQ isn't anything really special. But its not bad. difference between the two is burrows worked hard and Jake hasn't yet, but once he does his physical ability will help him overcome any perceived gaffs in hockey IQ. anyone who has played sports has made a dumb play because they were tired, lets call a spade a spade, jakes conditioning up to this point has not been good, its actually probably pretty bad. Once Jake fixes his conditioning he will be able to think better on the ice and we will see a more consistent Jake. I can see Jake being successful playing with miller and EP40, I actually expect success and have no worries about his hockey IQ. He just needs keep on track conditioning wise, once he does, he will prove the doubters very wrong.

usually true... but that blue colour was very... "meh", to me at least. current blues just pop off the TV and catch your attention. they look great. older navy ones didn't catch me at all, always loved the logo and the symbolism of it, but never was found on of those colours.

I think the Canucks know this and have been smart enough to not switch. I love the current jerseys, they are perfect. but I do enjoy seeing the old ones once in a while. though id be terrified to see them play In the Halloween V jerseys, interested yes... but they are terrible

reality is he is somewhere in the 65-75 out of 100 range, so not great, but not bad by any means I believe he has learned a lot and will be smarter in the future with things he has floundered on. This years draft doesn't make me think were missing out on brackett and its more of an organizational strength now, lead by benning. Were at the point where its a next man up mentality instead of TRYING to buy success in free agency. this will be good for him.

Ive said this forever, the issue with Jake is conditioning. conditioning affects your decision making as much as anything. he is a smarter player than he has shown I think. Watching his media availability makes me think something has changed in him. I think the play-offs were a real wake up call. I also think Jake wanted a longer deal to stay with the Canucks and is upset he didn't get it. I think this will be the first time we see a pissed off Virtanen out to prove people wrong and that makes me hopeful. training with someone like Myers is great for him.

Absolutely, I realize that. That’s why i said he’s “not very credible” opposed to “not credible” it’s intriguing and worth talking about because of his call on Edmonton. he might have gotten lucky with a scoop and is trying to stretch out his luck, maybe he has a guy, you never know.

sure there were a few gaffs in his game during the playoffs. lots of people will remember the penalty parade... but I think Myers was stellar on our blue line in the playoffs. the Reach and big body really showed... I view Myers similar to Edler, in the sense that everyone hated edler and wanted him gone... and now that people realize what he brings, they adore him. Myers is a big piece for us, glad we have him. If we can some how pull off the OEL trade that top4 would be awesome.

agreed, lots of teams that have won the cup seem to have an ELC guy come out of no where. Podz could be the guy, I am excited for that kid.
