@BradZiemer: Markus Naslund wants to make 1 thing perfectly clear: John Tortorella did not drive him from NHL. My story: http://t.co/9DhTJHwdXa #Canucks
Up to where? that doesnt make any sense over the internet. I like that he's patient. but sometimes i think MG is just a front for the media and LG is the real gm since he makes trade calls and extensions and everything else.
Ya ok. He did it once in the whole season. Since he's normally quiet so even a little outburst is more noticeable than when torts does it since he does it so often
I understand what you mean but I think they wanted the players to play nice with the refs but the coach should be all over them when a bad call is made. If no one says a word there are going to be problems just like when everyone chips in but if its one person going out on them it might make it a bit more even. Even if management said not to yell at the officials that shouldn't stop AV from calling them out. I feel he just was too quiet so the ref would call anything because he knew he wouldn't be opposed
I think they'll respond well to torts because even though he gives them crap atleast he'll stick up for them when a ref makes a bad call. That's something AV hardly ever did for them. If they can't respect a guy who is willing to get fined to protect his players they need to give their heads a shake. It's the biggest reason I like torts. And everyone saying he's going to push the same defensive system as NY, I'm pretty sure gillis will get him to be more offensive minded since he can run that system fairly well. And our guys are seriously offensive minded with the D always jumping up in to the play and someone always covers them on the backend so he should be able to help balance the offence and defense
What he forgot to mention is that was his first ever season coaching the big league with the worst group of goalie anywhere.

And that they next year they finished with 95pts and lost to Pittsburgh in the ECF. And that he now has a lot more experience having been AC with LA in their cup win and was responsible for the defence that completely embarrassed the Canucks
Are you serious? He's made doughty,Richards, carter and so many others find new levels too their games and developed so many good young players that's why he's wanted. Imagine what he could do for guys like edler and Kassian
