  1. These are easy.... When I was 11/12, my dad brought my brother and I to the coloseum to get autographs from '82 team.... I still have the autographs but hell if I can make out any of the names.... Stan Smyl was easy but the rest....
  2. Here is something to think about... Quennville, Tippet, Stevens All Hartford Whalers defencemen
  3. Lindy can coach.... And his old assistant Arniel can be his assistant once again Im guessing Gillis goes for the most high profile coach out there but whoever IS selected, I hope turns this team back into an a$$ kickin high tempo style and at the same time, shakes our identity as divers.
  4. Traded Kirk MacLean and Martin Gelinas for Burke and Geoff Sanderson..... I think Then we traded Burke to Philly for Garth Snow. Back to Tippet and developing younger players.... Wonder how he would feel about having Kyle Turris on his team now?
  5. Just wondering who they can plead their case to. And i wonder who the other GM is? If its Bergevin, good luck. Officials rather deal with an irked Bergevin than having Eugene Melnyk barging in and having a whine fest with Alfredsson in tow. Ever notice that? Whenever Melnyk has a gripe, you always seem to see Alfredsson having to be towed along like a b!tch. Can just see him rolling his eyes wondering what he got himself into hahaha
  6. Well this is where Gillis has to change. He always seems to be chasing the current trend instead of LEADING and setting the trend. Seems by the time Gillis has made the adjustment, it is already too late. If we dont aquire a 3rd line center via trade or free agency, I would be content to have Gaunce start.
  7. That would be my suggestion too. Let him fail, let him adjust, let him develope. Surely during the season with injuries nd such, he can be moved all around. After Ricky Schroeder has had his shoulder repaired, i am sure we seen the last of him up here barring another injury. Imo, he was a waste of a pick
  8. He will be starting with us next year. Does anyone know what his Faceoffs were like? Any stats pages for OHL?
  9. How wrong you are. There has been many players coming out of CHL and slotting into NHL line-ups regardless of when they were drafted. Mostly entirely up to the individual how much he progresses. Every situation is different. Some players "get it" snd understand their roles quicker than others. Corrodo being a recent example. Not calling him the next Orr bt in his cup of coffee here, he hasnt "dominated " but he hasnt crap the bed either. As for Gaunce, it truely wouldnt break my heart if they sent him down for another year, but if he can come here, practice with black aces, take his new found knowledge back to Gary Roberts training camp while also working with Gagner, I see a possibility he is in this roster come October.
  10. With his size and skill and versatility to play center and pinch in on lw, it would be a crime to send him back to play against boys next year. Sending him to Sweden a la Jensen would prove useless. Bring him up, start him in bottom 6 capacity and learn the defensive side like AV does with every young player.
  11. And I dont care what the so called "experts" of this site say..... I want him here in October. Given the new salary cap.....this guy will fight right in somewhere instead of playing another year with the kids.
  12. Sophmore slumps... Something which you cant teach a player to get out of. He has to learn how to deal with, adapt to and progress. After which makes him better and more developed. As for Cody, i dont care what they say.... Cody for Kassian is still a bust. Shoulda just GAVE Cody the ice time he needed. Look how good he is now. Kesler wasnt playing to potential and he eve knew it. Heaven forbid Cody became the de-facto #2 center until Kesler came back. And when he did, heaven forbid Kesler picks up 3rd line shut down role.... Speaking from a "team player" mentality. I understant what Gillis was looking for when he got Kassian but he has been nothing short of a meat head....
  13. Seeing guys like O'Reilly and Skinner make the jump and be effective as 18/19 yr olds proves time and time again that you never know what your going to get if you simply plug them into place and let them find their groove. Our system seems like to let a player play in any development system so long as it seems to save us money and contract length.... Thus risking irking said player and risk having him demand a trade a la Hodgson.
  14. So most are suggesting to keep him down in juniors next year? To play another year with the kids? How bout going the Jensen route? Or just plunkin him into our line-up to develop?
  15. Sorry boys, I assumed he would be of age next year And the farm will be in Abby next year.... Bank on it.
  16. Cant wait to see this kid play in ABBOTSFORD next year
