I hate these early morning (suppose early afternoon in NY) games ... I slept in...and ugg I got up just in time to see Tanev tip the puck into the Canuck net. I hope he doesn't become the new whipping boy. I love the kid. Also has Edler been that bad.....I keep seeing everyone say how horrible he is.

(Sorry I can't quote on my cell) I still didn't cheer for them I actually pretended the finals last year didn't happen.I hate both those teams so much but I would be lying if I said I didn't respect certain players who play for chicago and to be honest if toews played for any other team he would probably be my favorite non canuck player. Sighs. So the olympics I really get to cheer for him and not feel guilty lol

Yeah I realize it won't be easy but if we go on a winning streak its still possible to grab one of those wild card spots... No canucks in the playoffs just feels wrong!

Sorry if this was answered somewhere in this massive thread. I was originally going boycott the olympics cause of the gay right stuff but my love for hockey and canada comes first so I decided to watch the hockey. Anyways I know this thread is specifically for canadas team and its nice to see luongo is still in the running...but it got me wondering about Kesler. Does anyone know if he was invited to the american team tryout? Sorry if is weird to ask but kes is my fav player and it would be weird if he wasn't at the olymplics. Also of course I am cheering for team canada but like to still see as many canucks there as possible. I assume the sedins are going... And lastly will I lose all respect from other canuck fans if I got a toews team canada jersey! I actually really like toews but obviously hate him when he's a blackhawk!

Exactly gambling the 'now' when we are just a piece or two away from being contenders again to hold onto prospects they may or may not pan out is stupid! Getting a young stud of a player like kane in a way would be helping us now and 'protecting' our future! So why wouldn't we trade prospects for him? Why wouldn't we trade Edler for him? Everyone is expendable! Everyone but the twins and kes!!

Anyone on this team or in our system except Kes and the Sedins should be expandable and if that means giving Up unproven prospects then by all means do it! All this garbage about not trading our prospects is just stupid! We need a key piece NOW while we still have a legit shot. I am sorry but if we don't do something we will become the calgary flames and never even make the playoffs let alone have a shot at the cup! Ever! Enough is enough time for gillis to actually do something!

I am sorry but anyone on this team except Kesler and the sedins should be considered in trading for evander kane! I don't care if he has attitudr problems kane is just the type of the player that puts us over the top! So I would give winnipeg anything they want (except kes, sedins) to get him, yes even tanev (who I love).

Real fans stand by their team win or lose, no matter what you support the team. So we are on a losing streak, so big deal its NOVEMBER not march! Cut the team some slack and be real fans instead of a bunch of crybaby bandwagoners! I am so sick of all you being so negative! Whine whine whine whine that's all you do no wonder other fanbases make fun of us. Look I am not saying we shouldn't be worried or that we shouldn't feel frustrated when they lose but saying you won't watch games anymore if we can't beat flordia, get off the bandwagon and stay off!

Final Destination 5 was typical cheesy horror film but better then expected I loved the twist at the end. 4.5 out of 10

I know I'll be subject to a lot of criticism for voicing such an opinion but so be it. Winning the Stanley Cup should be the most important thing to this franchise. If the Sedins have great years it doesn't change anything. The main premise is that we can no longer win the Stanley Cup with this core group of players. I'm not a fan that is satisfied with two rounds of playoff hockey.
And whose to say that underneath the right coaching staff we can't win the cup with this core group of guys. I maybe a little crazy and optimistic. I am so sick of this fan base jumping up and down like spoiled children when things don't go the right way. We lost the cup and then instead of working towards change and moving forward we had a coach who was stale and who lost the room. Who didn't guide his players and whose players didn't show up. Now we have a new coach who is firey and who seems to actually wants to coach and yeah they haven't been successful in the pre-season but I am not ready to throw in the towel just yet. I want to give torts and the Sedins a chance before making up my mind. The Sedins are already taking on new roles then they did before and that alone tells me things will be different this year.

Perhaps we should wait till we see more of the season and how the Sedins play under Torts before we make harsh judgements and trade away all our players. I felt regardless of the outcome of the game played last night that the Sedins actually seemed to play better then they did last year. Shrugs. Call me for being crazy and optumistic but I think that if they actually have the right guidance and really want it they might actually surprize some people.

I just started reading book 5 its so good but I am trying to read it super slow because I know I am going to go through major Game of Thrones withdrawl when I finish it. The trailer for season 3 looks majorly awesome. I am planning to pick up a bluray player for my birthday in may then I will buy both seasons 1 and 2 on dvd.

Well I guess ice time is just so much more important to some players then the idea/chance of winning a Stanley cup with your so called favorite team!
Best of luck to Schultz.........you're going to really need it if you want a chance at Lord Stanely's cup anytime soon.

I think a lot of the reasons some of us are so annoyed by this announcement is because of the fact that he is supped to be a Canucks fan and as Canuck fans we can not understand (AV aside) why anyone would not want to play for their favorite team. Especially when that team is one of the best teams in the league and is a cup contender! This is especially even more crazy when you have a player who is suppose to be a fan over look your team for another team that isn't very good. To me as a Fan I would rather my team when a Stanley cup then anything, so thus if I could play hockey and I was good enough to be in the same situation as Schultz is in I would choose the team I felt I had a better chance to win the cup with and the fact that this team happens to be my favorite would be icing on the cake. Instead he is choosing another team, probably Edmonton, which as we all know doesn't really have a good chance at even making the playoffs. However, if he chooses the Sens then i guess I sort of can see why, he would get more mins with the Sens and he still has a chance at making the playoffs. So basically this whole point is moot if he doesn't choose Edmonton.
