I'm sick and tired of all these pathetic haters. I hope someone beats them down like the gutless pukes they are.

Oh, the Canucks are hated, for sure. It's not a rational thing. How often have we heard the Canucks called the dirtiest team in the league? And yet based on supplemental discipline, we are the cleanest team in the league this season. But that doesn't matter to people. Where does this hate come from? Toronto, Alberta, Boston, Chicago. Those are some big demographics, in terms of media, in terms of population. There are a lot more people in those markets than there are Canucks fans. And look at the garbage even mainstream news prints about this team! To be successful these guys have to fight through more crap than anyone else by far. And eventually, when media and rival fanbases are so vocal on these points for so long, it has an effect in the league, it has an effect as far as what people think they can get away with, it has an effect on the officiating. Let me ask you, who has the worst reputation in the league, as a team, for diving? And is that based on reality, or is it based on a preponderance of propaganda from our rivals? The Canucks dive no more or less than any other team, but we're tarred with this label.

In short it doesn't matter if we play clean or dirty. Doesn't matter if we dive or fight through a ridiculous amount of abuse without going down. This team is incapable of shaking these labels through no fault of their own, it's a simple matter of volume. And the labels do have an effect on the game, they really do. It makes the degree of difficulty that much higher.
