Does Vigneault Get "out-Coached" In The Postseason?

I think in the end, the point of coaching (and outcoaching) is is that the better team usually wins. In cases where the teams are quite close, a coach may be able to steal a win, but the team should be relying on the systems the coaches have put in place all year. It's only when they don't perform those systems as they should that breakdowns happen and we see teams going down 0-3 like we have now.

At this point in the season, a coach can't overhaul a system to try and turn the tide. Doing so only leads to more opportunity for mistakes. Adjustments happen all the time, and should, but they'll be reasonably small, or at least a variation the team has worked on before to keep from making things worse. Coaches that have to overhaul the system didn't have a good system to begin with, and typically don't win back to back President's Trophies.

It's another thing to from there to say a coach can't adjust, or that he's lost the room, and that last part can be reason enough for change. It's not always a reflection on the coaches ability, or you wouldn't see coaches like Boudreau getting hired within a week of getting fired.

It remains to be seen if there's a better option out there for the Canucks, or if AV has been tuned out, but I stand by the original argument that he hasn't been outcoached regularly. It may happen, but often the better team wins despite anything the coaches can do.
